State space disturbance observer based controller design for self servo writing (셀프 서보 라이팅을 위한 상태공간 외란 관측기 기반의 제어기 설계)

  • Self servo track writing(SSTW)은 servo track writer(STW)를 이용하지 않고 hard disk drive의 내부 VCM을 이용하여 servo track을 기록하는 방식이다. SSTW는 이전 servo track을 상대적인 reference로 하여 기록하게 되므로 초기에 발생된 error와 외부의 disturbance의 영향으로 error는 급속하게 증가된다. 이것을 radial error propagation 이라 한다. 본 논문에서는 radial error propagation을 억제하기 위한 correction signal을 설계하고 servo writing 과정에서 발생하는 disturbance의 영향을 제거하기 위하여 disturbance observer(DOB)를 add-on type으로 구성하여 tracking 제어기를 설계하였다. 또한 DOB를 적용한 경우와 유사한 gain margin, phase margin과 sensitivity function을 갖는 제어기를 설계하여 그 성능을 비교하였다. 제안된 방식은 radial error propagation을 억제 하였을 뿐만 아니라 disturbance의 최소화하여 쓰여진 track의 DC track spacing과 AC track Squeeze가 개선된 것을 모의실험을 통하여 검증하였다.

  • In this paper, a neural network controller that can be implemented in parallel with a PD controller is suggested for motion control of a hydraulic servo cylinder. By applying a self-excited oscillation method, the system design parameters of open loop transfer function of servo cylinder system are identified. Based on system design parameters, the PD gains are determined for the desired closed loop characteristics. The Neural Network is incorporated with PD control in order to compensate the inherent nonlinearities of hydraulic servo system. As an application example, a motion control using PD-NN has been performed and proved its superior performance by comparing with that of a PD control.

  • This paper shows a perfonnance analysis for pneumatic servo cylinder. The pistons without seal have partly cylindrical and conical shapes. 2 dimensional Reynolds equation and FD(finite differential) numerical techniques are utilized for the perfonnance analysis. The relationship among self-centering forces and leakage flows are investigated. Also, optimal design values for a servo cylinder are presented. A prototype of servo cylinder which had rod bearing with four pockets, five pockets, and six pockets was manufactured respectively.

  • In this paper, a self tuning control algorithm is proposed for the high performance drive of DC servo motor, which is adequate to the servo system having frequent load variation. In order to realization of the algorithm, the control system is developed using a fixed point high speed digital signal processor. TMS320C25. Control algorithm is composed of two parts. One is estimation law part using recursive least mean square method, the other is control law part using minimum variance control method. For the purpose of easiness of applying adaptive algorithm, developed control system is based o PC-DSP structure which can develop, debug programs and monitor the dynamic behaviors,etc. Through computer simulation and experimental results, it was verified that proposed control system could estimate system parameters and was robust to the variation of the load and as a result, was adequate to the servo motor drives.

  • The servo system requires faster and more accurate dynamic responses. A new technique for the position control of DC servo motors is presented in this paper. The proposed technique employs a Self Tuning Regulator Proportional Integral Derivative(STR PID) position control systems in order to improve the dynamic performance of a DC servo motor. Recursive -least -squares (RLS) method is used in order to estimate the STR PID coefficients, $K_P$, $K_I$, and $K_D$. In order to consider dynamics such as voltage, angular velocity, and rotor angle, the above method was applied position control system.

  • Within the framework of brake-by-wire technology, this paper presents five types of novel models of electro-mechanical disk brake calipers with self-servo mechanism which provides self-servo effect of boosting a friction force generated between the brake pad and the rotor disk surface. The models have been developed utilizing patent map analysis results of previous invents of electro-mechanical brake calipers. The feasibility of the developed motor-driven brake caliper models have been validated through the dynamic simulation analysis. Among the developed models, the caliper mechanism with separated pressure plate was designed especially in detail and was made as a pilot. The pilot caliper has been installed on the simple test bed constructed with domestic passenger car brake components, and its function and effectiveness have been validated through several types of experimental tests.

  • This paper presents an algorithm to design a self-tuning proportional-integral(PI) speed controller for servo systems. The control gains are calculated with estimated system parameters, i.e. inertia and viscous damping which are estimated by initial operation. The simulation and experimental results show the feasibility and performance of the proposed algorithm.

  • An adaptive control system for D.C servo drive is developed via minimum variance control theory. The problem of designing this controller under varying load conditions is discussed. A robust self tuning controller that can track a constant reference and reject constant load disturbance is developed. Simulation study shows that the controller has excellent adaptation, capability as well as transient recovery under load changes.

  • In this study, we selected a DC servo motor as an actuator of the marine diesel engine governor and constructed the position control system of the DC servo motor using the algorithm proposed by authors. Next, we proposed an another method to construct an adaptive control system for marine diesel engine by regarding the controlled system including the DC servo motor as a second order controlled system and verified the validity of this method through the real time control responses. Finally, the results have shown a good response characteristic.

  • This paper describes a Neural Network based PD control scheme for motion control of pneumatic servo cylinder. Pneumatic systems have inherent nonlinearities such as compressibility of air and nonlinear frictions present in cylinder. The conventional linear controller is limited in some applications where the affection of nonlinear factor is dominant. A self-excited oscillation method is applied to derive the dynamic design parameters of linear model. Based on the parameters thus identified, a PD feedback compensator is designed first and then a neural network is incorporated. The experiments of a trajectory tracking control using the proposed control scheme are performed and a significant reduction in tracking error is achieved by comparing with those of a PD control.
