This study explores 1) the cultural meanings that television beauty programs deliver, 2) the ways consumers consume TV beauty programs, and 3) the differences in the meaning of television beauty programs according to personality types. An Enneagram was used to define different personality types. The Enneagram explained personalities according to underlying core energies and was useful to grasp consumer behavior. Exploratory data were collected through in-depth interviews of fifteen women in their twenties who watched television beauty programs regularly. The personality types were classified according to three core energies: head-centered, heart-centered, or body-centered. The results were: First, television beauty programs were celebrity-focused, product-focused, and consumer-focused. They were found to help consumers improve their appearance in an appearance-oriented contemporary society by sharing appearance management information. Second, consumers consumed the products from television beauty programs as well as sought a "beautifully transformed self". Third, cultural meanings moved first from a culturally-constituted world to consumer goods through television beauty programs that then moved these goods to the individual consumer through symbolic consumption behavior along with grooming rituals, evaluation practices, appreciation practices, and accounting practices. Symbolic consumption behavior differed with personality type: heartcentered consumers transferred meaning through grooming rituals and appreciation practices, head-centered consumers through evaluation practices, and body-centered consumers through accounting practices.
Objectives: The purpose of the study is to examine the behaviors by the degree od dry mouth related to stress, dry mouth and halitosis. Methods: The subjects were 400 adults. A self-reported questionnaire was completed from August 1 to November 30, 2014. The data were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 program. The questionnaire consisted of eight questions of general characteristics of the subjects, one question of subjective stress symptom, six questions of dry mouth symptom, four questions of dry mouth behavior, and one question of halitosis. Results: There was a significant difference between halitosis and stress in patients having systemic diseases. Stress had a significant difference with gender, income, drinking frequency and alcohol consumption. The degree of dry mouth had a significant difference with gender and age. In dry mouth severity, behavior showed a significant difference with age, education, and times and amount of alcohol consumption. Age had a positive correlation with cigarette consumption and a negative correlation with dry mouth and dry mouth behavior. Cigarette consumption showed a positive correlation with alcohol consumption. Drinking frequency had a positive correlation with alcohol consumption, dry mouth, dry mouth behavior, halitosis and stress. Alcohol consumption had a positive correlation with dry mouth behavior, and dry mouth showed a positive correlation with dry mouth behavior, halitosis and stress. Dry mouth behavior had a positive correlation with halitosis and stress, while halitosis showed a positive correlation with stress. Conclusions: Stress, dry mouth and halitosis were closely correlated. Since stress is the most important variable, stress relief will be the most effective measure to alleviate oral symptoms. Therefore, stress relief measures need to be devised for oral health management in adults having stressful life.
Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the level of knowledge and screening review rates of dental health insurance claims in dental hygienists. This analysis will provide the educational information to the dental hygienists. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by dental hygienists in Jeonbuk from December 17, 2012 to January 24, 2013. The questionnaire was distributed by ordinary mail or direct visit. Except incomplete answers, 350 data were collected and analyzed. The study instrument was adapted from the structured questionnaire by Hong and Yoo. The questionnaire consisted of education experience of health insurance management, subjective and objective knowledge, insurance screening review, and need for health insurance education. Data were analyzed by SPSS 12.0 program. Cronbach alpha in the objective knowledge on health insurance rate criteria was 0.836 and this was a reliable figure. Results: The subjective knowledge level of dental insurance was higher in the senior dental hygienists. Subgingival curettage was the lowest percentage of correct answers in the objective knowledge. In recent six months, higher review control rate was shown in the higher claim for health insurance and insurance screening review. Conclusions: The majority of the respondents had lower level of knowledge of health insurance claims. The continuous education of dental health insurance will be necessary in the dental hygienists.
Purposes: Purposes of this study were to assess the needs of health education of residents and to determine the difference according to their general characteristics in a community. Method: Subjects consisted of 599 residents who live in the vicinity of M Catholic University, S dong, M city, Jeollanam do. Data were collected by 6 research assistants, using a self reported questionnaire from July 1, 2003 to July 31, 2003. Results: Subjects were mostly female (58.8%). 20 30 years old(45.2%), married (70.1%), high school graduates (42.1%), have an occupation(73.1%). have incomes less than 1.000,000 won(54.2%) and have a religion(59.8%). and the family type of the subjects was primarily nuclear(64.1%). The need for education about 'family health care management and medical examination' was the highest in 8 domains. The need for education about 'cancer' was the highest and 'family health care', 'stress and strategies', 'introduction of medical examination' and 'oral care' followed in 41 items. The differences in the needs of health education in all domains was found according to subjects' general characteristics. Conclusion: Further research is needed to develop a health education program based on participants' needs and general characteristics.
The present study purposed to examine adolescents' peer relation quality, and school life maladjustment according to the characteristic of their mobile phone use and their mobile phone addiction. The subjects of this study were 490 middle/high school students in Namyangju City. A survey was conducted using a self reporting questionnaire, and collected data were analyzed with SPSS 12.0. The results are as follows. First, mobile phone use was different according to gender, school year and the degree of mobile phone addiction. Second, the addiction group was 12.9% of the subjects, the dependent group was 52.7%, and the non addiction group and 34.5%. Third, in the addiction group, the negative factors of peer relation quality were significantly higher than the positive factors of peer relation quality. Fourth, in the addiction group, all the factors of school life maladjustment were significantly high. Fifth, school life maladjustment was higher when the degree of mobile phone addiction was high and when the negative factors of peer relation quality were high. This suggests the necessity for education on the right use of the mobile phone and mobile phone addiction treatment program; in order to improve adolescents' peer relation quality and ease their school life maladjustment. The results of this study are expected to be useful in developing effective interventions for adolescents' healthy growth.
Purpose - This study examined the relationship between individual creativity and its related variables to observe how individual creativity contributes to organizational performance. In addition, this study strived to explore how to maximize the utilization of individual creativity and innovate the structure of the organization itself so that teams and organizations can respond more effectively to new rising trends. this study aimed to examine whether the value congruence between individuals and organizations (propensity congruence, goal congruence has a significant impact on knowledge sharing and innovation behavior as dependent variables by exerting individual creativity and synergy as independent variables. Research design, data and methodology - SPSS 24.0 program were used to analyze the data. Descriptive Statistics and correlation analysis were performed, and the reliability factor (Cronbach's α) was calculated. Afterwards, we analyzed the moderating effects of structural equation model analysis and hierarchical regression analysis. The number of samples used in the study were 309 copies. Results - First, Individual creativity had a positive effect on knowledge sharing and innovative behavior. In other words, it was confirmed that decision-making processes fused with individual creativity could create an atmosphere of knowledge sharing and transform the organization. Second, value congruence adjusted the influence of individual creativity on knowledge sharing and innovation behavior. Conclusions - First, it is important for managers to recognize the value and secure the pool of creative talents who will be a potential future basic source of organizational success and competitive advantage. Second, managers should be able to identify those with creative talents and expertise, and use them to increase their knowledge sharing performance, while also developing emotional and motivational creativity. Third, in order improve knowledge sharing performance, managers should pay attention to the emotional aspect of creativity. Fourth, managers should strive to create an environment that is beneficial for the reinforcement of individual self-management capabilities. Fifth, managers should be able to develop decision-making processes to develop potential creativity and encourage creative thinking, opinions, or solutions. Sixth, managers should promote the dissemination and integration of new knowledge based on the creative views and attitudes of team members.
The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing elderly care burden of a working family. Methods: A descriptive correlational design was used. Participants was 153 family member of elderly at five nursing facilities. Data were collected through self-reported questionnaires from July to October 2019. Data were analyzed using an independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis with the SPSS WIN 25.0 program. Analysis result, explaining 20,8% of the variance, which indicated that subjects for giving care, monthly admission fee, burden of expenses, and satisfaction for fee service were significant predictors of working family's care burden. Various individual characteristics significantly influenced working family's care burden in aspects of emotional, social, economical, and physical burdens. Therefore, interventions to decrease working family's care burden must focus on their individual factors.

This study was designed to find the symptom prevalence rates of musculoskeletal disorders and the risk factors of musculoskeletal disorders among selected hair dressers. Methods; The survey were conducted from July 1 to 30, 2004 for 459 hair dressers working in Seoul and Gwangju using self-administration questionnaire. The risk factors on musculoskeletal disorders have analysed by multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study are summarized as follows: The experience rate of musculoskeletal disorders symptom in the last one year was 56.4%. The experience rates of each body parts were 36.4% on the shoulders, 30.5% on the legs and the feet, 28.5% on the low back, 27.0% on the hand and the fingers, 23.3% on the neck and 17.0% on the arms and the elbows. The prevalence rate of musculoskeletal disorders symptom in the last one week was 40.5%, those of each body parts were 24.0% on the legs and the feet, 21.4% on the shoulders, 20.7% on the low back, 15.7% on the hand and the wrists, 15.0% on the neck, 9.4% on the arms. The risk factors on musculoskeletal disorders were working posture(${\beta}=0.32$), perceived stress(${\beta}=0.19$), working period(${\beta}=0.16$), standing working over 10 hour(${\beta}=0.16$), hard working(${\beta}=0.11$). The adjusted determinant coefficient($R^2$) of this regression model was 0.267. Based on the results, in order to prevent musculoskeletal disorders of hair dressers, working posture shall be improved and leisure opportunities to relieve stress, and health management program shall be provided.
This study was conducted to investigate the satisfaction of school dietitians with foodservice facilities and utilities in the Chonbuk area of Korea. Self-administered questionnaires were collected from a total of 22 dietitians. Statistical data analysis was completed using the SPSS v. 10.0 program. The results are summarized as follows. Among the 222 school foodservice systems, 68.5% of the schools prepared meals the conventional way and 31.5% prepared them the commissary way. Most of the school foodservice facilities were located on the first floor. Satisfaction with the location of the foodservice facility was not significantly different between the conventional and commissary systems. However, overall dietitian satisfaction with the foodservice facility locations was poor. Approximately 30% of the dietitians responded that one of the most important problems for foodservice management was the limited space and worn-out equipments in the kitchens. For dietitians' satisfaction on the types of facilities present, most schools had constructed dietitian offices, food storage facilities, cafeterias, rest rooms, dressing rooms, and preparation facilities. Yet, the amenities most often missing were storage facilities, preparation facilities, dressing rooms, rest rooms, etc. For overall satisfaction with the status of facilities and utilities, we found no significant differences between dietitians in the conventional(2.89) and commissary foodservice systems(2.86); however, the satisfaction level among the dietitians was poor. Therefore, governmental regulation agencies need to review and approve plans prior to the new construction or extensive remodeling of school foodservice facilities. Finally, content analysis was also conducted regarding the dietitians' opinions on foodservice facilities and utilities.
This study was carried out to analyze the relationship between body mass index (BMI) and general characteristics, psychological factors, eating habits, dietary behaviors, and health related quality of life using survey of 335 women aged 20 to 29 years in the Seoul and Kyungin areas. The 335 study subjects were divided into 4 groups by BMI ($kg/m^2$) levels; normal group($18.5{\leq}BMI{\leq}22.9$), overweight group($23.0{\leq}BMI{\leq}24.9$), mild obesity group($25.0{\leq}BMI{\leq}29.9$), and heavy obesity group ($BMI{\geq}30$) by Asian-Pacific obesity index criteria. The family income of the heavy obesity group was significantly (p<0.05) less than that of the normal weight group. Psychological factors, such as stress and depression of the normal weight group tended to be higher than those of overweight and obesity groups. The higher BMI level had the lower self-efficacy(p<0.05) among all subjects. As the BMI level increased, the preference for sweet, salty, and hot taste was significantly high. We found that normal weight women had healthier eating habits and dietary behaviors and a higher level of health-related quality of life than did those who were overweight, mildly obese, and heavily obese women. Overweight and mildly and heavily obese women were strongly associated with decreased physical and mental health related quality of life. Therefore, weight loss is desirable, and is likely to be beneficial for health-related quality of life in obese adult women. In conclusion, this study contains evidence to suggest that obesity management programs including different strategies according to obesity are required to determine the types of programs that are suitable for adult women, prior to their initiation of a program. The findings are helpful to inform researchers and practitioners who are seeking to implement appropriate strategies to create positive changes in the health behaviors of obese adult women.
