In order to help students through their initial clinical experience, faculty must understand more fully the moaning of this experience for nursing students. This study was performed to understand and to explain what is the essential structure of nursing students' initial clinical experience. A grounded theory approach was conducted to explore the actual experience of nursing students' first clinical experience. Each of the nursing students' descriptions about their initial clinical experience was analyzed using Strauss & Corbin's method. The results of the study were as follows : From the 172 written descriptions and 7 in-depth individual interviews, 128 concepts were extracted. After identifying the concepts' formulated meaning, they were organized into 29 subcategories and the following 12 categories . burden, encountering difficulties, self-discovery, grasping actuality, acquirement of nurse's nature, special character of experience, special character of relationship, external effect, problem oriented coping, emotional oriented coping, affection for nursing, skeptical view of nursing. Five hypotheses were derived from the analysis. 1) Burden is an obstacle to grasp nursing actuality. 2) Special character of experience and external effect have an effect on grasping nursing actuality, 3) Encouragement, a part of external effects, will increase nursing student's affection for nursing. 4) Affection for nursing through first clinical experience facilitates positive nursing view and scholarly zest. 5) Disappointment with the difference be tween theory and reality will cause the student to take a skeptical view of nursing. It is hoped that the knowledge gained from this qualitative study will enable faculty to enter more fully Into the world of nursing students as they embark on their initial clinical experience.
Mungbean plants generally have a relatively close canopy, thus a large amount of self-shading can reduce yield due to poor light penetration. Modification of leaflet type can affect leaf canopy and could alter seed yield. Two multiple leaflet mutants were obtained from gamma-ray irradiation and used to study the mode of inheritance related to leaflet types and to evaluate their agronomic features. The cross between large-heptafoliate leaflet with small-pentafoliate leaflet mutants produce all $F_1$ plants with normal trifoliate leaflets. The $F_2$ plants segregated in leaflet size and leaflet number into a 9:3:3:1 ratio of large-trifoliate: large-heptafoliate: small-pentafoliate: small-heptafoliate plants, suggesting that independent loci control leaflet size and leaflet number. Regarding leaflet number, the $F_2$ population can be classified into normal-trifoliate, small-pentafoliate, large-heptafoliate, and small-heptafoliate at the dihybrid ratio of 9:3:3:1. The gene symbols $N_1,n_1$ and $N_2,n_2$ are proposed to represent leaflet number. Since no plant was found with large-pentafoliate leaflets, we hypothesize that the $N_2$ allele expresses pleiotropic effect on both leaflet number and leaflet size. Another possibility is that an additional locus with S and s alleles controls leaflet size and S is tightly linked with $N_2$. The effect of multifoliate leaflet on yield and yield components was evaluated in four mungbean families each with four leaflet isolines under three environments. Averaging across the families and environments, the normal-trifoliate and large-heptafoliate lines gave higher yield than small pentafoliate and heptafoliate ones. These two large leaflet lines also had higher leaf area per plant than the other multifoliate lines. Therefore, the mungbean lines with a greater leaf area, which were likely to intercept more sunlight, gave greater yield. Three AFLP markers that were found to be linked to number of leaflets per leaf, corresponded to the N1 allele of the smallpentafoliate parent.
Recently, due to molecular biology and engineering technology, DNA microarray makes people watch thousands of genes and the state of variation from the tissue samples of living body. With DNA Microarray, it is possible to construct a genetic group that has similar expression patterns and grasp the progress and variation of gene. This paper practices Cluster Analysis which purposes the discovery of biological subgroup or class by using gene expression information. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to predict a new class which is unknown, open leukaemia data are used for the experiment, and MCL (Markov CLustering) algorithm is applied as an analysis method. The MCL algorithm is based on probability and graph flow theory. MCL simulates random walks on a graph using Markov matrices to determine the transition probabilities among nodes of the graph. If you look at closely to the method, first, MCL algorithm should be applied after getting the distance by using Euclidean distance, then inflation and diagonal factors which are tuning modulus should be tuned, and finally the threshold using the average of each column should be gotten to distinguish one class from another class. Our method has improved the accuracy through using the threshold, namely the average of each column. Our experimental result shows about 70% of accuracy in average compared to the class that is known before. Also, for the comparison evaluation to other algorithm, the proposed method compared to and analyzed SOM (Self-Organizing Map) clustering algorithm which is divided into neural network and hierarchical clustering. The method shows the better result when compared to hierarchical clustering. In further study, it should be studied whether there will be a similar result when the parameter of inflation gotten from our experiment is applied to other gene expression data. We are also trying to make a systematic method to improve the accuracy by regulating the factors mentioned above.

The Trust and Authority in Scholarly Communications in the Light of the Digital Transition research project1) was a study which investigated the behaviours and attitudes of academic researchers as producers and consumers of scholarly information resources in respect to how they determine authority and trustworthiness. The research questions for the study arose out of CIBER's studies of the virtual scholar. This paper focuses on elements of this study, mainly an analysis of a scholarly publisher's usage logs, which was undertaken at the start of the project in order to build an evidence base, which would help calibrate the main methodological tools used by the project: interviews and questionnaire. The specific purpose of the log study was to identify and assess the digital usage behaviours that potentially raise trustworthiness and authority questions. Results from the self-report part of the study were additionally used to explain the logs. The main findings were that: 1) logs provide a good indicator of use and information seeking behaviour, albeit in respect to just a part of the information seeking journey; 2) the 'lite' form of information seeking behaviour observed in the logs is a sign of users trying to make their mind up in the face of a tsunami of information as to what is relevant and to be trusted; 3) Google and Google Scholar are the discovery platforms of choice for academic researchers, which partly points to the fact that they are influenced in what they use and read by ease of access; 4) usage is not a suitable proxy for quality. The paper also provides contextual data from CIBER's previous studies.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore decision making experiences of Korean women with breast cancer who underwent breast reconstruction with/after a mastectomy. Methods: Data were collected during 2015-2016 through individual in-depth interviews with 10 women who had both mastectomy and breast reconstruction, and analyzed using phenomenological method to identify essential themes on experiences of making a decision to have breast reconstruction. Results: Five theme clusters emerged. First, "expected loss of sexuality and discovery of autonomy" illustrates various aims of breast reconstruction. Second, "holding tight to the reputation of doctors amid uncertainty" specifies the importance of a trust relationship with their physician despite a lack of information. Third, "family members to step back in position" describes support or opposition from family members in the decision making process. Fourth, "bewilderment due to the paradox of appearance-oriented views" illustrates paradoxical environment, resulting in confusion and anger. Lastly, "decision to be made quickly with limited time to oneself" describes the crazy whirling process of decision making. Conclusion: Findings highlight aims, worries, barriers, and facilitators that women with breast cancer experience when making a decision about breast reconstruction. Deciding on breast reconstruction was not only a burden for women in a state of shock with a diagnosis of breast cancer, but also an opportunity to decide to integrate their body, femininity, and self which might be wounded from a mastectomy. These findings will help oncology professionals provide effective educational counselling before the operation to promote higher satisfaction after the operation.

Colloids are a heterogeneous system in which particles of a few nanometers to hundreds micrometers in size are finely dispersed in liquid medium, but show homogeneous properties in macroscopic scale. They have attracted much attention not only as model systems of natural atomic and molecular self-assembled structures but also as novel structural materials of practical applications in a wide range of areas. In particular, recent advances in colloidal science have focused on nano-bio materials and devices which are essential for drug discovery and delivery, diagnostics and biomedical applications. In this review, first we introduce nano-bio colloidal systems and surface modification of colloidal particles which creates various functional groups. Then, various methods of fabrication of colloidal particles using holographic lithography, microfluidics and virus templates are discussed in detail. Finally, various applications of colloids in metal inks, three-dimensional photonic crystals and two-dimensional nanopatterns are also reviewed as representative potential applications.
This study attempted to research the local food of various regions at a personal level by discovering how food has developed das part of a region's culture base. Discovery of the characteristic story behind the making of a region's characteristic food as local delicacies can inspire self-esteem in the culture, and enhance the real-life image as appropriate to a region, and thereby be made a part of local tourism and thus contributing to the local economy. For this reason, the native foods of the region of Chungcheongnam-do were researched in terms of the cultural sensibilities that inform the unique history of that region. The study was designed so as to aid in understanding food's characteristic value in Chungcheongnam-do and to give a historical representation of Chungcheongnam-do's image by means of storytelling techniques; thus, the local food's character can be presented alongside a story that appeals to the five senses. For this purpose, Chungcheongnam-do's representative native rice table was cast as the 'Hyunchoong rice meal table' - after the figure of admiral Yi Sun Shin of Asan area region, a representative image of Chungcheongnam-do - and 'Choosa rice meal table', after the figure of 'Choosa' Kim Jeong Hee of Yesan region, of which various literary works form a representative image of Chungcheongnam-do. 'Hyunchoong rice meal table' was composed of a health food centered menu which could supply sufficient nutrition as a food ration in times of war or winter shortage, thus providing an image of nutrition and power as appropriate to these situations. Also, to assess the health effectiveness of each rice table, the functionality of the ingredients were investigated as reported in 'Sik-ryo-chan-yo : a dietary treatment' which was published by Soon-Ui Cheon in the Chosun era and by which the foods of the early Chosun era won recognition as being both healthy profitable.
The main theme of this study is about North Korea's contemporary military strategy which remained a blind spot in the 21st century. Indeed, Pyongyang's contemporary military strategy is evolved from the logic of War. On the basis of this logic, this study examined North Korea's contemporary military strategy with three analytical frameworks. The first is the discovery of Clausewitz's dictums and application of the Trinitarian analysis on the Korean cases. During the course of applying Clausewitzian main dictum--War as continuation of politics, the methodological analysis on war played a important role generalizing the pattern and matrix of North Korea's strategic thinking and military strategy. In particular, Clausewitz's Trinitarian framework on war -Government (reason), Army (chance), People (passion)- was a universal framework to scrutinize the North Korean missile and nuclear strategy. The second is about the matrix of North Korea's military strategy, The study suggested the genealogical feature of Pyongyang's military strategy. In principle, the dictum of 'Military-First Politics' 1S the combination of the political philosophy, Chuch'e (self-reliance) of Kim Il Sung and Kin Jong Il reflected in the military readiness. As a result this analysis was able to equate Clausewitz's dictums to explain Pyongyang's idea of the nature of war in that North Korea's military strategy is the central instrument of delivery to achieve political objectives. The third is about the theoretical encounter of 'Clausewitz's Wonderful Trinity' and 'Remarkable Trinity on North Korea's contemporary strategy'. On the basis, three elements are connected to one of three groups in society; the people, the military, and the government. In order to apply the Clausewitz's Trinitarian analysis into Kim Jong Il's 'Military-First' strategy, two case studies (Missile and Nuclear strategy) were examined. The finding of this study is that Clausewitzian dictum in the 19th century is still valid in the 21st century as it provided plausible theoretical framework to explain the North Korean contemporary military strategy with a reminder that the nature and logic of war are fixed in the socially constructed state.
Patients, particularly elderly patients, need nursing appropriate to their characteristics and pace, whereas 'fast nursing' is actually emphasized in Korea. Hence, this study attempts to identify the characteristics of 'slow nursing' in Korea. Walker & Avant's approach to concept analysis was performed through a literature review on the concept of 'slow nursing.' A literature search and concept analysis, using the keywords of 'slow,' 'slow nursing' and 'slow prescription' in Pubmed, Riss, NDSL, DBPIA, and Google Scholar from 2000 to 2019, yielded the following attributes of 'slow nursing': 'respect for the speed of the subject,' 'carefulness,' 'comfort in the process,' 'participation' and 'consideration of the meaning of life.' Model cases were derived based on these attributes. Predisposing factors involved in 'slow nursing' include patient malfunction, psychological deflection, indifference, fear of treatment, and lack of willingness to live. The outcomes were a discovery of patients' potential capacities, recovery of confidence, health promotion, improved communication with medical staff, confidence, and self-integrity. It is expected that the development of measurement tools using the attributes of 'slow nursing' would contribute to patient nursing and research in the future.

Since its discovery in 1991, the carbon nanotube has attracted much attention all over the world; and several method have been developed to synthesize carbon nanotubes. According to theoretical calculations, carbon nanotubes have many unique properties, such as high mechanical strength, capillary properties, and remarkable electronical conductivity, all of which suggest a wide range of potential applications in the future. Here we report the synthesis in the catalytic decomposition of acetylene at ~65 $0^{\circ}C$ over Ni deposited on SiO2, For the catalyst preparation, Ni was deposited to the thickness of 100-300A using effusion cell. Different approaches using porous materials and HF or NH3 treated samples have been tried for synthesis of carbon nanotubes. It is decisive step for synthesis of carbon nanotubes to form a round Ni particles. We show that the formation of round Ni particles by heat treatment without any pre-treatment such as chemical etching and observe the similar size of Ni particles and carbon nanotubes. Carbon nanotubes were synthesized by chemial vapour deposition ushin C2H2 gas for source material on Ni coated Si substrate. Ni film gaving 20~90nm thickness was changed into Ni particles with 30~90nm diameter. Heat treatment of Ni fim is a crucial role for the growth of carbon nanotube, High-resolution transmission electron microscopy images show that they are multi-walled nanotube. Raman spectrum shows its peak at 1349cm-1(D band) is much weaker than that at 1573cm-1(G band). We believe that carbon nanotubes contains much less defects. Long carbon nanotubes with length more than several $\mu$m and the carbon particles with round shape were obtained by CVD at ~$650^{\circ}C$ on the Ni droplets. SEM micrograph nanotubes was identified by SEM. Finally, we performed TEM anaylsis on the caron nanotubes to determine whether or not these film structures are truly caron nanotubes, as opposed to carbon fiber-like structures.
