평면 구조 진동 측정을 위한 자동화된 스캐닝 레이저 도플러 진동측정기의 개발 및 연구 (Development of An Automated Scanning Laser Doppler Vibrometer For Measurements of In-Plane Structural Vibration)

  • The automated scanning laser Doppler vibrometer (LDV) has been designed, and built to measure in-plane displacements associated with waves propagating on vibrating structures. Use of optical fibers allows the compact design of a laser probe head which can be scanned over the vibrating structures. An algorithm for automated self-alignment of the laser probe is developed. The system is completely automated for scanning over the structures, focusing two laser beams at each data point until the detected vibration signal is stable, and for recording and transferring the data to a system computer. The automated system allows one to get extensive data of the vibration field over the structures. The system is tested by scanning a piezoelectric cylindrical shell and a plate excited by a continuous signal and by a pulse signal, respectively. Results show that the automated scanning LDV system can be a useful tool to measure the in-plane vibration field and to detect the elastic waves propagating on the vibrating structures.

  • During the dynamic analysis of a system, the Coulomb friction law is emploved to calculate the friction force. Since the static friction coefficient is only employed during the zero relative velocity, it is impractical to employ the coefficient during the dynamic analysis. To calculate the static friction force, therefore, some friction models have been developed. In this study, the integration stability and the accuracy of the models are investigated with some numerical examples. The effect of time step size during the numerical integration is also investigated. The numerical study shows that the friction model employed for most commercial codes is not as good as the one proposed in this study.

  • The objective of the present study is to conduct model combustion tests for double swirl coaxial injectors to identify their combustion stability characteristics. Gaseous oxygen and mixture of methane and propane have been used as simulant propellants. Two model chambers tuned to the If acoustic resonance mode of a full-scale thrust chamber were manufactured to be used as a combustion cylinder. The main idea of the experiment is that the mixing mechanism is considered as a dominant factor significantly affecting combustion instability in a full-scale thrust chamber. Self-excited dynamic pressure values in a model chamber show different combustion stability zones with respect to a recess number. Upon test results, couplings between combustion conditions and the IT acoustic resonance mode become strengthened with the increase of a recess length.

Graphical technique for the flutter analysis of flexible bridge

  • The flutter of a bridge is induced by self-excited force factors such as lift, drag and aerodynamic moment. These factors are associated with flutter derivatives in the analysis of wind engineering. The flutter derivatives are the function of structure configuration, wind velocity and response circular frequency. Therefore, the governing equations for the interaction between the wind and dynamic response of the structure are complicated and highly nonlinear. Herein, a numerical algorithm through graphical technique for the solution of wind at flutter is presented. It provides a concise approach to the solution of wind velocity at flutter.

Analytical and experimental study on aerodynamic control of flutter and buffeting of bridge deck by using mechanically driven flaps

  • A passive control using flaps will be an alternative solution for flutter stability and buffeting response of a long suspension bridge. This method not only enables a lightweight economic stiffening girder without an additional stiffness for aerodynamic stability but also avoid the problems from the malfunctions of control systems and energy supply system of an active control by winglets and flaps. A time domain approach for predicting the coupled flutter and buffeting response of bridge deck with flaps is investigated. First, the flutter derivatives of bridge deck and flaps are found by experiment. Next, the derivation of time domain model of self-excited forces and control forces of sectional model is reported by using the rational function approximation. Finally, the effectiveness of passive flap control is investigated by the numerical simulation. The results show that the passive control by using flaps can increase the flutter speed and decrease the buffeting response. The experiment results are matched with numerical ones.

  • Passengers in a vehicle feel uncomfortable due to squeal noise. Squeal noise, a kind of self-excited vibration, is generated by the friction force between the disc and the pad of the automobile. In this paper, modal analysis of wheel brake system was performed in order to prediction of squeal phenomenon. It was shown that the prediction of system instability is possible by FEM. Finite element model of that brake system was made. Some parts of a real brake was selected and modeled. The normal mode analysis method performs analyses of each brake system component. Experiment of modal analysis was performed for each brake components and experimental results were compared with analytical result from FEM. The complex eigenvalue analysis results compared with braking test. The analysis results show good correlation with braking test for the squeal frequency at an unstable mode.

  • Squeal of disk brake is a noise and self excited vibration with frequency range of $1{\sim}10Khz$ cause by the friction force between the disk and the pad of the automobile. 경수로 핵연료집합체의 모드해석 및 유동시험 평가

  • 최근 경수로 핵연료 손상 원인 중의 하나인 연료봉 마모(Fretting Wear)가 지지격자의 스프링력 저하뿐만 아니라 원자로 냉각재 유동에 기인한 집합체 진동(Self-excited Fuel Assembly Vibration)에 의해 유발될 수 있는 것으로 밝혀져 해외 연료공급자들은 새로운 연료개발시 집합체 유동시험을 수행하여 냉각재 유동에 의한 집합체 진동 여부를 확인하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 경수로 핵연료집합체에 대한 모드해석 및 진동시험으로부터 고유진동수 및 진동모드형태를 구하여 모의 집합체 유동시험 결과와 비교 평가하였고 냉각재 유동에 의해 과도한 집합체 진동이 발생됨을 확인하였으며 가연성흡수봉집합체를 삽입한 경우에 대한 유동시험 결과와도 비교하였다. 또한, 이들 집합체의 진동 변위량과 손상 연료의 마모량 분포의 상관성을 비교 평가하였다.

유기발광소자(OLED)의 전기전도메커니즘에 대한 고찰 (Study on the Electrical Conduction Mechanism of Organic Light-Emitting Diodes (OLEDs))

  • Organic light emitting devices have attracted the attention of many people because of their high potential for self-emission and flexible display devices. However, due to limitations in device efficiency and lifetime, partial commercialization is underway. In this paper, we have investigated the electrical conduction mechanism of the organic light emitting device by the temperature and the thickness of the light emitting layer through the current - voltage characteristics with respect to the conduction mechanism directly affecting the efficiency and lifetime of the organic light emitting device. Through the study, it was found that the conduction in the low electric field region is caused by the movement of the heat excited charge in the ohmic region and the tunneling of the electric charge due to the high electric field in the high electric field region.

  • This paper describes the commutation current and ignition angle of current which occures in the combination of silicon rectifier with synchronous generator when the constants of rectifier circuits parameters are changed. This is precisely accomplished by setting-up the analog computer with voltage generating circuits and non-linear elements circuits. When the characteristics of rectification are properly selected in the simulation, this method is able to extend to the connection of SCR and electric machinery. We also expect that this method is helpful to the investigation of characteristics, and design of alternating exciters, self-excited synchronous generators instead of D-C machines.
