Purpose: This study was done to develop and test a structural model for caregiving experience including caregiving satisfaction and caregiving strain in families providing care for family members with a mental disorder. Methods: The Stress-appraisal-coping model was used as the conceptual framework and the structural equation model to confirm the path that explains what and how variables affect caregiving experience in these families. In this hypothesis model, exogenous variables were optimism, severity of illness and uncertainty. The endogenous variables were self efficacy, social support, caregiving satisfaction and caregiving strain. Data were collected using structured questionnaires. Results: Optimism and caregiving self-efficacy had significant direct and indirect effects on caregiving satisfaction. Optimism, severity of illness and uncertainty had significant direct and indirect effects on caregiving strain. The modified path model explained effects of optimism on caregiving self-efficacy with social support in the path structure as a mediator. Also, there were direct and indirect effects of optimism and uncertainty on caregiving satisfaction with social support and caregiving self-efficacy in the path structure as a mediators. Conclusion: Results suggest the need to improve caregiving self-efficacy of these families, establish support systems such as a mental health professional support programs for caregiving self-efficacy. Optimism, severity of illness and uncertainty perceived by families need to be considered in the development of support programs in order to increase their effectiveness.
This study was carried out to explore the illness-related activities of the menopaused women. To achieve such a purpose, sixty-six cases of the middle aged women were sampled the naturally and the artificially menopaused group respectively from 1st, Aug. to 31th, Aug. in 1988. For the collection of data, 1, 140 women aged between 45-54 were selected through stratified sampling techniques in urban and rural area. Among them the final subjects for analysis were restricted to only those who had experienced menopause naturally or artificially. And then, after control for age and education analysis was performed. The data was analysed by use of frequency, percentage, $X^2-test,$ t-test, Pearson correlation coefficiency and stop-wise multiple regression. The obtained results were as follows. I. As for the se1f-perception on menopausal symptoms, it was revealed than Korean women, neithe in naturally and artificially, accepted the change of menstruation itself as serious. This shows us that middle-aged women had positively receptive attitudes that the change of menstruation is follwed by amenorrhea. 2. The artificially menopaused group scored more than the naturally one: (I) on the self-control activities such as self-assessment, lay-consultation, fever check, pulse check and observation of vagina discharge, (2) on the self-decision activities such as hospital and pharmacy utilization, (3) on the self maintenance activities such as walking, aerobic, weight check, skin care, skin protect, calori control diet control, milk intake, vegetable intake, cold water drinking before meal, parasol use and BP check The above results lead us that the self care practices of the menopaused women revealed' coping wit I menopausal symptoms at the first level in community and must be developed by the adequate nursin intervention.

This study was carried out to analyze how psychological anxiety factors perceived by sky divers at the time of sky diving affect self-confidence. To that end, a survey was executed on 150 sky divers and 123 questionnaires were selected for the final analysis with SPSS v.21. Major findings of the study are as follows: first, sky divers use stretching and breathing the most to cope with stress-related symptoms; second, psychological anxiety and self-confidence were different in religion, age and the number of sky diving; third, sky divers' psychological anxiety affects self-confidence negatively. This study will contribute to developing a program to help sky divers enhance psychological coping techniques to reduce anxiety while increasing self-confidence at the time of sky diving.
The purpose of this study is to examine whether non-self perspective(NSP) reduces the negative effects of life stress experienced by middle-aged adults. an online survey was conducted using a sample of 207 adult men and women in their 40s and 50s, and a hierarchical regression analysis and simple slope analysis were performed. As a result, it was found that NSP modulates the negative effects of life stress on perceived stress and subjective well-being. Specifically, NSP reduced the positive effect of life event stress on perceived stress and reduced the negative effect on subjective well-being. The results of this study suggest that eastern and Buddhist self-view, NSP, has a buffering effect on life stress experienced by middle-aged adults. This study suggests that NSP should be considered as an important factor for coping with stress in middle-aged adults in counseling and clinical settings, and is expected to promote subsequent empirical research on the Buddhist concept of non-self. Finally, limitations and future studies are suggested.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the stress and coping level as a result of dysmenorrhea which was experienced by girls. For the collection of data, the girls from the 1st to the 3rd grade in middle school in Seoul were selected through a random sampling technique. The survey was conducted from the 1st. to the 14th of June, 1991 by the use of questionnaires made after a pilot study. The final subjects for analysis were restricted to only those who had experienced me~arche, the number of which totaled 1,131. The stress, coping level, and other variables, were tested and analysed by descriptive statistics (eg, frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation), t-test, ANOVA and Pearson's correlation coefficients. The obtained results are summarized as follows. 1. The chronological start for menarche was at a mean age of 13.1 The respondents who had experienced menarche numbered $70.9\%$ of the 1st grades and $96.2\%$ of the 2nd grades in middle school, otherwise the starting age for menarche was in the 4th grade in primary school. 2. Their menstrual cycle and period were longer than adult's one. The number of students studied who had experienced dysmenorrhea during their menstrual cycle were 860, and 650 of those revealed that their mothers or sisters had experienced similar problems. 3. The subjects who were late or head left early rather than being absent from school every menstruation cycle were more stressful. The results are thought to show that the girl's perception of dysmenorrhea seems to be more sensitive than adult's one. 4, A significant negative correlation was found between the perception of menstrual flow and strees level. It means that an increase in the stress of dysmenorrhea was associated with decreased menstrual bleeding. The degree of hypochondrical concern assessed by the girls was significantly correlated to stress and coping level. When the girls perceived high stress as a result of dysmenorrhea, they worried about their physical health more. The above results lead us to the suggestion that the starting point of early education with a school program is appropriate for the 4th grade in primary school. Especially if the girls in middle school should be required to give the information about correct knowledge and sufficient self -care management of menstruation monthly, if this could be implemented the loss in school days among the students due to dysmenorrhea would be minimized with more ease.
Objectives: The object of this study was to compare between perceived stress, coping strategies and quality of life between parents of childhood cancer and normal controls. Methods: Global assessment of recent stress(GARS) scale and symptom checklist-90-revised (SCL-90-R) were used to measure perception for stressors and stress responses(psychopathology). Coping scale and Smithklein Beecham quality of life scale were used to measure coping strategies and quality of life. Results: Scores of perceived stress related to interpersonal, changes in relationship, sickness or illness, financial, unusual happenings on the GARS scale were significantly higher in parents of childhood cancer than normal controls. Scores of the SCL-90-R, somatization, depression, anxiety, hostility subscale were also significantly higher in parents of childhood cancer than normal controls. Scores of self control and positive reappraisal were significantly higher in parents of childhood cancer than normal controls. Parents of childhood cancer scored significantly lower in quality of life than normal controls. Scores of depression were also significantly higher in parents of children diagnosed as acute lymphocytic leukemia(ALL) than those as acute nonlymphocytic leukemia(ANLL). Conclusions: The results suggest that patients with parents of childhood cancer were likely to have higher levels of perceived stressor and psychopathology and lower quality of life than normal controls.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the family stresses and its managing strategy to cope with the stresses, and family strengths in dual-income teachers. The subjects of this study were 289 dual-income teachers in the Gyeongnam Area, Korea. The major findings obtained from this study are summarized as follows: 1) The degree of family stresses in dual-income teachers was 2.90 on a scale of 0-5.0. The most stressful aspect for the dual-income teachers came from the role of housework. 2) The degree of coping strategy in dual-income teachers was 3.48, on a scale of 0-5.0. Among the strategies, the 'cognitive restructuring' shows the first. 3) The degree of family strengths of dual-income teachers was 3.88 on a scale 0-5.0. The significant variables were economic level, self-esteem, job satisfaction, and marital satisfaction in dual-income teachers. 4) The most effective variable of family strengths in dual-income teachers was coping strategy.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among the stress on clinical practice, stress coping method and the somatization symptom of dental hygiene students and propose strategies for effective instruction of clinical practice. The survey was performed by self-reported questionnaires for 268 dental hygiene students who have recently experienced clinical practice. Collected data were analyzed using by t-test and Pearson correlation coefficient with the SPSS Win 12.0 program. Its results are as follows. 1. In the satisfaction of clinical practice, 'Satisfaction', 'Average' and 'Unsatisfactory' were 32.5%, 42.2% and 25.4%, respectively. The reason for dissatisfaction of clinical practice were 'insufficient education of college'(29.8%), 'environment of clinical practice institute'(23,4%), 'interpersonal relationship'(21.3%) in order. 2. Somatization symptoms was positive correlation(0.307, p < 0.01) associated with stress of clinical practice. Also it was negative correlation associated with satisfaction level of the subjects and stress of clinical practice. Correlation coefficient of the interpersonal relation factor was found the most significantly high as much as 0.331, according to the analysis carried out between subordinate factors of clinical practice stress and somatization. 3. According to stress coping method. Subjects were distributed into two group of active method and passive method. Thereafter as a result of verifying the difference of somatization symptoms, there was statistically significant difference between active method group and passive method group. Based on the study results, we suggests that effective management program of clinical practice should be developed and applied to the dental hygiene students to make them cope with stress and somatic symptom during their clinical practice.
This study was done to examine the effect of 'Zippy's friends' program based on stress coping model for early child. A nonequivalent control group was designed to conduct a pre-post test for this study. The participants for this study were 148 first grade elementary school students in G city(experimental group=72, control group=76). The experimental group received 'Zippy's friends program for 24 weeks (6 module, 24 hours). The control group did not receive any treatment. From April to December 2017 data were collected using self-report structured questionnaires, and were analyzed using the ${\chi}^2$-test, t-test, and ANCOVA with SPSS/WIN 20.0 Program. After the treatment, significant differences were found between the experimental group and control groups in terms of stress coping ability( F=22.77, p<.001),but not in level of emotional intelligence (t=-.37, p=.715). Results of this study indicate that Zippy's program can be used in school based practice as an effective mental health intervention for early child.

This study is intended to learn about the factors appearing in parenting stress and the copying strategies by targeting marriage immigrant women who are raising middle and high school student. To this end, in-depth interviews were conducted on seven participants of Marriage Migrant Women who are living in Seoul and Gyeongi area. Generally to say, first of results showed that the personal factors, family factors, social factors and enculturative factors were found out as the factors of parenting stress of them. Secondly, problem-centered and emotion-focused coping strategies for the factors of stress were the main ways. Specifically, as the individual factors, the self-efficiency was coped with problem-focused ways and the parenting roles were coped with emotion-focused ways. As the family factors, child's activity and sociality impact their school adjustment and their mother's parenting stress and, various copying strategies were used depending on the different situation. For the social factors, looking for family supporting as the active problem-focused coping ways were used in husband's family and looking for emotional comfort as the emotion-focused coping ways were used in parents' home. In the case of enculturative factors, the emotion-focused coping strategies were used for the Public gaze and the prejudice around them that caused overwhelming sense of helplessness.
