  • It will not be able to guarantee the secure operation for the information and communication systems with only technical security. So, ISMS(Information Security Management System) research and standardization are active going on. Korea published "The national cyber security management regulation" and "The national cyber security manual" in 2005. According to the regulation and manual, the government organ and public institution must accomplish the security management assessment to itself for systematic management of an information security. We studied related standards and security management systems of the Australia and the USA, and analyzed the security management evaluation system in "The national cyber security manual" in efficient security management focus. We presented the improvement direction of national security evaluation system through the research. We propose the additional control, selective control set and improvement of the evaluation process for efficient security management. • Automated sensing of soil macronutrients would allow more efficient mapping of soil nutrient spatial variability for variable-rate nutrient management. The capabilities of ion-selective electrodes for sensing macronutrients in soil extracts can be affected by the presence of other ions in the soil itself as well as by high concentrations of ions in soil extractants. Adoption of automated, on-the-go sensing of soil nutrients would be enhanced if a single extracting solution could be used for the concurrent extraction of multiple soil macronutrients. This paper reports on the ability of the Kelowna extractant to extract macronutrients (N, P, and K) from US Corn Belt soils and whether previously developed PVC-based nitrate and potassium ion-selective electrodes could determine the nitrate and potassium concentrations in soil extracts obtained using the Kelowna extractant. The extraction efficiencies of nitrate-N and phosphorus obtained with the Kelowna solution for seven US Corn Belt soils were comparable to those obtained with IM KCI and Mehlich III solutions when measured with automated ion and ICP analyzers, respectively. However, the potassium levels extracted with the Kelowna extractant were, on average, 42% less than those obtained with the Mehlich III solution. Nevertheless, it was expected that Kelowna could extract proportional amounts of potassium ion due to a strong linear relationship ($r^2$ = 0.96). Use of the PVC-based nitrate and potassium ion-selective electrodes proved to be feasible in measuring nitrate-N and potassium ions in Kelowna - soil extracts with almost 1 : 1 relationships and high coefficients of determination ($r^2$ > 0.9) between the levels of nitrate-N and potassium obtained with the ion-selective electrodes and standard analytical instruments.

  • This study aims at restoring urban forest destructed and eliminated by industrialization, urbanization, and city development and presenting a direction to manage remaining urban forest ecologically. To this end, an experiment zone where Populus tomentiglandulosa T. Lee were selective cutted and a control zone where Populus tomentiglandulosa T. Lee were kept intact were created in Chongdam Park located in Kangnam-ku, Seoul. Then, the structural changes of herbaceous plant species, the growth of targeted woody plants, and the increase of the number of insect and bird species were examined. The conclusions reached in this study are as follows. First, for the sake of ecological restoration and management of urban forest, it is good to selective cutting. Although timing, frequency, and methods may vary depending on the features and types of urban forest, the study revealed that selective cutting contributes to the restoration speed of origin vegetation and the enhancement of biodiversity including plants and insects. Second, as for the correlations of selective cutting and the appearance of plant species, the growth of origin vegetation, and insect distribution, the study showed that the impact of meteorological environment such as brightness is much greater than that of soil environment. Third, in order to manage urban forest, tramping pressure needs to be controlled efficiently. The efficient control of tramping pressure would contribute in the appearance of herbaceous plants. It would also be beneficial in promoting biodiversity of birds by removing the impact of people using routes. Fourth, in order to enhance the overall biodiversity of urban forest, diverse environment needs to be provided. In particular, it is necessary to supply water that is insufficient in urban forest. Providing habitats such as forest wetland performs an important function to amphibians and birds that require water as well as the appearance of aquatic plants and insects. Therefore, ways to introduce water efficiently should be initiated.

  • Domestic industry has a long history, but it has been suffering for a long time due to its poor competitiveness in management ability, supply of materials, technological development, sales marketing, and distribution networks. Moreover, the industry has not established its strong presence in the world market but is exposed to increasingly greater agonies because of inactive domestic demands, increase rate of import versus export, diversified government policies, and non-selective introduction of high-quality and low-priced foreign named brands of ceramics into the country. Theses factors have partly contributed to consumers' low or negative recognition.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of balancing, coordinating and learning strategy on performance of private university hospitals. We think that the study will contribute to establish effective management strategy of private university hospitals. Data were collected from 69 private university hospitals. We measured balancing, coordinating and learning strategy, and perceived performance of the hospital by using 5-point Likert scale. Upper-grade general hospitals were significantly higher rate of growth and profitability than others. However, general hospitals were higher level in perceived performance than upper-grade general hospitals. Hospitals located in Seoul were significantly higher growth rate than those in other regions. Large-scale hospitals were significantly higher rate of growth and profitability than small hospitals. Qualitative performance did not different in any hospital characteristics. Growth of hospitals were significantly influenced from business strategies: selective strategy, formal coordinating strategy, and external learning strategy. Profitability of hospitals were also significantly influenced from business strategies: selective strategy, adaptive strategy, and external learning strategy. Subjective performance of hospitals were significantly influenced from external learning strategy. There were no factors that are significantly influencing on qualitative performance of hospital. To have successful performance in the competitive environment, it is recommended that private university hospitals should have to establish management strategy such as balancing, coordinating, and learning strategy.

  • Construction management system has been needed to be anchored and revitalize in these days, since it was entered into a domestic market. We could consider application of CM services as a challenge of construction project system and a way to get to an advanced nation in construction field. Application of CM services could be possible in public projects by a regime. However, in case of private construction projects, it is hard to apply it without understanding of substantial necessity and propriety. so in this study, we find a application method of CM services to private small-midium construction projects, and make CM services item table of CM services for revitalization by examining the cases that applied to in private small-medium construction projects.

  • The purpose of this study is to present the factors needed to introduce knowledge management systems to university libraries in Korea, to suggest various methods needed to offer much more improved services of a library than now by investigating the current situations about introducing such factors in national and pubic university libraries in Korea. Almost all of the 33 university libraries selected the subject of investigation have offered the on-line reference service, e-mail pushing service, and full text constructions out of the 11 knowledge management system elements presented in this study, but the other services else have been offered by less than half the number of the libraries. The findings suggest to greatly improve the current services of libraries such as information education and selective dissemination of information, and immediately to introduce new systems including e-book and wireless service systems in order to the university competitiveness. The study implies that each library has already introduced the knowledge management systems, in proportion to a budget of the library, ifs librarian number, and a degree restructuring organization, and that an introduction of knowledge management systems such as policy and culture of organization, its librarian number, and its related security of budget takes the most important role in improving services of a library.

  • This study explores the reporting tendencies of project managers when sending a status reports to their respective senior managers in information systems development project. It also examines the effect of selective reporting on report quality and systems development performance. The research model is proposed based on literature survey as well as key points from Iacovou et al. [2009] which is an extension of selective reporting in information systems project. Analysis of responses from 257 project managers in information systems industry indicates that pessimistic reporting by project managers has negative effect on both report quality (mediator variable) and systems development performance, while optimistic reporting has no significant effect on systems development performance. The CEO interest has an impact on the senior manager's power, which in turn leads to optimistic reporting by project managers. The senior manager's character has an impact on the senior manager's leadership, which in turn leads to pessimistic reporting. No direct relationship exists either between CEO interest and optimistic reporting or between senior manager's character and pessimistic reporting. In addition, trust toward the senior managers is significantly related to pessimistic reporting. Finally, report tendencies are also found to be affected by the active/passive characteristics of project managers.

  • Using next-generation sequencing, we conducted a genome-wide scan of selective sweeps associated with selection toward genetic improvement in Thoroughbreds. We investigated potential phenotypic consequence of putative candidate loci by candidate gene association mapping for the finishing time in 240 Thoroughbred horses. We found a significant association with the trait for Ral GApase alpha 2 (RALGAP2) that regulates a variety of cellular processes of signal trafficking. Neighboring genes around RALGAP2 included insulinoma-associated 1 (INSM1), pallid (PLDN), and Ras and Rab interactor 2 (RIN2) genes have similar roles in signal trafficking, suggesting that a co-evolving gene cluster located on the chromosome 22 is under strong artificial selection in racehorses.
