A new color image segmentation scheme is presented in this paper. The proposed algorithm consists of image simplification, region labeling and color clustering. The vector-valued diffusion process is performed in the perceptually uniform LUV color space. We present a discrete 3-D diffusion model for easy implementation. The statistical characteristics of each labeled region are employed to estimate the number of total clusters and agglomerative hierarchical clustering is performed with the estimated number of clusters. Since the proposed clustering algorithm counts each region as a unit, it does not generate oversegmentation along region boundaries.
In this paper we present a color image segmentation algorithm based on statistical models. A novel deterministic annealing Expectation Maximization(EM) formula is derived to estimate the parameters of the Gaussian Mixture Model(GMM) which represents the multi-colored objects statistically. The experimental results show that the proposed deterministic annealing EM is a global optimal solution for the ML parameter estimation and the image field is segmented efficiently by using the parameter estimates.
The combination of information and technology makes dramatically increase both information quality and quantity. Almost of company utilize customer information for the purpose of increasing sales amount and profitability. The purpose of this paper is to discover customer information's utilization practices in the Korean financial industry. The case of K Bank's information analysis in the inbound and outbound marketing is provided, The customer segmentation is used for the inbound marketing by using RFM analysis. And the loan card model is used for the outbound marketing by using logit analysis.
In this paper, we proposed a DeepLabv3+ based encoder-decoder model utilizing an attention mechanism for precise semantic segmentation. The DeepLabv3+ is a semantic segmentation method based on deep learning and is mainly used in applications such as autonomous vehicles, and infrared image analysis. In the conventional DeepLabv3+, there is little use of the encoder's intermediate feature map in the decoder part, resulting in loss in restoration process. Such restoration loss causes a problem of reducing segmentation accuracy. Therefore, the proposed method firstly minimized the restoration loss by additionally using one intermediate feature map. Furthermore, we fused hierarchically from small feature map in order to effectively utilize this. Finally, we applied an attention mechanism to the decoder to maximize the decoder's ability to converge intermediate feature maps. We evaluated the proposed method on the Cityscapes dataset, which is commonly used for street scene image segmentation research. Experiment results showed that our proposed method improved segmentation results compared to the conventional DeepLabv3+. The proposed method can be used in applications that require high accuracy.

Market segmentation is a key strategic factor in increasing the expected profits, especially in the practice of revenue management. A manufacturing firm should manage both manufacturing quantities and pricing decisions over its segmented markets to maximize the expected profits, setting different price for each different segment. Also, market segments should be kept separate in order to prevent demand leakages between different market segments. In fact, even though the markets for different products are firmly segmented, it is not easy to keep separate segmentation because many products might be substitutable by customer buying behavior. That is, customers respond to price changes by purchasing other market's products instead of purchasing the originally requested products, which causes demand substitution effect ; This kind of substitution is referred to as price-driven substitution. Therefore, decisions on optimal prices should take into account the differences in customers' valuation of the different products. We consider a deterministic model for deciding optimal prices in the presence of price-driven substitution, and we compare both symmetrical-and asymmetrical-type demand substitutions between two segmented markets. The objective of this study is to develop analytical and numerical models to examine the impact of price-driven substitution on the optimal price levels and the total expected profits.
This paper proposes a delta energy method based on Parameter Filtering(PF), which is a speech segmentation algorithm for text dependent speaker verification system over telephone line. Our parametric filter bank adopts a variable bandwidth along with a fixed center frequency. Comparing with other methods, the proposed method turns out very robust to channel noise and background noise. Using this method, we segment an utterance into consecutive subword units, and make models using each subword nit. In terms of EER, the speaker verification system based on whole word model represents 6.1%, whereas the speaker verification system based on subword model represents 4.0%, improving about 2% in EER.
Purpose - This study surveys factors such as lifestyles, nutritional status, physical indicators, and physical fitness levels that affect the health of seniors over the age of 65 and based on the collected data attempts to create a senior health index model that provides health service information, help support seniors' successful aging, and improve their quality of life. Research design, data, and methodology - This paper conducted the development for senior health index model and the cross validity verification to examine the status of senior health level, and aimed at setting the health status evaluation criteria. Seniors 384 usable data were analyzed. Results - As an attempt to segment the senior health service market, I divided the results of this study based on measurability, accessibility, disparity between groups, and the size of the potential client base. I divided the senior market into five subgroups: very healthy, healthy, normal, weak, and very weak. Conclusions - The findings of this study may prove useful in preparing for the forthcoming super-aged society through segmentation of the senior market, understanding differences between groups with different health conditions, and discovering effective marketing strategies that meet the demands of different senior groups.

Purpose In this paper, we propose a robust 3D vessel tracking algorithm by utilizing an active contour model and unscented Kalman filter which are the two representative algorithms on segmentation and tracking. Materials and Methods The proposed algorithm firstly accepts user input to produce an initial estimate of vessel boundary segmentation. On each Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA) slice, the active contour is applied to segment the vessel boundary. After that, the estimation process of the unscented Kalman filter is applied to track the vessel boundary of the current slice to estimate the inter-slice vessel position translation and shape deformation. Finally both active contour and unscented Kalman filter are inter-operated for vessel segmentation of the next slice. Results The arbitrarily shaped blood vessel boundary on each slice is segmented by using the active contour model, and the Kalman filter is employed to track the translation and shape deformation between CTA slices. The proposed algorithm is applied to the 3D visualization of chest CTA images using graphics hardware. Conclusion Through this algorithm, more opportunities, giving quick and brief diagnosis, could be provided for the radiologist before detailed diagnosis using 2D CTA slices, Also, for the surgeon, the algorithm could be used for surgical planning, simulation, navigation and rehearsal, and is expected to be applied to highly valuable applications for more accurate 3D vessel tracking and rendering.
We presented a very fast and robust method of text line segmentation based on the DCT blocks of color image without decompression and binary transformation processes. Using DC and another three primary AC coefficients from block DCT we created a gray-scale image having reduced size by 8x8. In order to detect and locate white strips between text lines we analyzed horizontal and vertical projection profiles of the image and we applied a direct markov model to recover the missing white strips by estimating hidden periodicity. We presented performance results. The results showed that our method was 40 - 100 times faster than traditional method.

Named Entity Recognition (NER) is used to identify entity nouns in the corpus such as Location, Person and Organization, etc. NER is also an important basic of research in various natural language fields. The processing of Chinese NER has some unique difficulties, for example, there is no obvious segmentation boundary between each Chinese character in a Chinese sentence. The Chinese NER task is often combined with Chinese word segmentation, and so on. In response to these problems, we summarize the recognition methods of Chinese NER. In this review, we first introduce the sequence labeling system and evaluation metrics of NER. Then, we divide Chinese NER methods into rule-based methods, statistics-based machine learning methods and deep learning-based methods. Subsequently, we analyze in detail the model framework based on deep learning and the typical Chinese NER methods. Finally, we put forward the current challenges and future research directions of Chinese NER technology.
