X-ray 영상에서 그리드 아티팩트 개선을 위한 동적 분할 기반 DCT 기법 (A Dynamically Segmented DCT Technique for Grid Artifact Suppression in X-ray Images)

  • 방사선 진단에서 산란선 보정 그리드의 사용은 굴절되는 신호에 의한 영상의 왜곡을 방지할 수 있는 장점이 있는 반면, X-ray 영상에서 그리드 아티팩트를 발생시키는 부작용을 수반한다. 본 논문에서는 이산코사인변환(DCT: discrete cosine transform)을 사용하여, 그리드 라인을 개선하는 기법을 제안한다. X-ray 영상에서 그리드 라인은 피사체의 형태와 영상의 영역에 따라 서로 다른 특성을 보인다. 이러한 점을 해결하기 위하여 동적 분할 구조를 기반으로 DCT 변환을 적용하고, 개별 분할별로 적합한 필터전달함수를 설계하였다. 세부적으로 주파수 영역 데이터에 대하여 그리드 라인의 대역을 검출하는 알고리즘을 제안하였으며, 필터전달함수로 Kaiser 윈도우와 Butterworth 필터를 조합한 형태의 밴드스톱필터(BSF: band stop filter)를 구현하였다. 또한 블로킹 현상을 개선하기 위하여 다중구조의 영상으로부터 픽셀값을 결정하는 방법론을 제시하였다. 총 140개의 실제 X-ray 영상을 사용한 실험결과로부터 제안된 이론의 타당성을 실험적으로 평가하였다.

DETECTION AND CLASSIFICATION OF DEFECTS ON APPLE USING MACHINE VISION

  • This study was carried out to develop tools to detect defects of apple using machine vision. For the purpose, 6 kinds of frame for color images, R, G, B, h, S, and I frame, and a frame for near infra-red images (NIR frame) were tested first to select one which is useful to segment defect areas from apple images. After then, several methods to classify kind of defect for the segmented defect areas were developed and tested. Five kinds of apple defect -bruise , decay ,fleck worm hole and scar were investigated . The results are as follows: NIR frame was selected as the best one among the 7 kinds of image frame, and R, G and I frames showed favourable result to segment areas of apple defect. Various features of the segmented defect areas were measured to classify the defect areas. Eight kids of feature of the areas-size, roundness, axes length ratio, mean and variance of pixel values, variance of real part of spectrum, mean and variance of power spectrum resulted from spacial ourier transform were observed for the segmented defect areas in the selected 4 frames. then procedures to classify defects using the features were developed for the 4 frames and tested with 75-113 defects on apples. The test resulted that NIR and I frames showed high accuracies to classify the kind of defect as 77% and 76% , respectively.

STABLE AUTONOMOUS DRIVING METHOD USING MODIFIED OTSU ALGORITHM

  • In this paper a robust image processing method with modified Otsu algorithm to recognize the road lane for a real-time controlled autonomous vehicle is presented. The main objective of a proposed method is to drive an autonomous vehicle safely irrespective of road image qualities. For the steering of real-time controlled autonomous vehicle, a detection area is predefined by lane segment, with previously obtained frame data, and the edges are detected on the basis of a lane width. For stable as well as psudo-robust autonomous driving with "good", "shady" or even "bad" road profiles, the variable threshold with modified Otsu algorithm in the image histogram, is utilized to obtain a binary image from each frame. Also Hough transform is utilized to extract the lane segment. Whether the image is "good", "shady" or "bad", always robust and reliable edges are obtained from the algorithms applied in this paper in a real-time basis. For verifying the adaptability of the proposed algorithm, a miniature vehicle with a camera is constructed and tested with various road conditions. Also, various highway road images are analyzed with proposed algorithm to prove its usefulness.

구조적 특징 정보를 이용한 복잡한 세포영상 분할 (Complex Cell Image Segmentation via Structural Feature Information)

  • 본 논문에서는 과분할 방지와 복잡한 현미경 세포영상의 자동 분할을 위한 새로운 마커 기반의 워터쉐드 알고리즘을 제안한다. 워터쉐드 방식은 접촉 또는 겹침으로 인한 복잡한 대상들을 분할하기 위해 효과적이며 보다 성공적인 적용을 위해 정확한 마커 추출이 선행되어야 한다. 세포 영상의 정확한 마커 추출을 위해 본 논문에서는 방사형 대칭성을 이용한 반복 보팅 알고리즘을 이용하였다. 합성 영상과 실제 영상에서도 기존의 다른 방식들에 비해 양호한 분할 결과를 보였다.

Hough 변환 필터 배열을 이용한 광학적 특징 추출 (Optical feature extraction by use of an array of the Hough transform filters)

  • 광학적 Hough 변환 필터 배열을 이용하여 입력영상의 특징을 추출할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 여기서는 입력 영상의 부분들이 대용되는 필터 배열의 요소들에 의해 독립적으로 동시에 Hough 변환된다. 하나의 광학적 Hough 변환 필터를 사용하여 입력영상 전체에 대한 변환 결과를 얻는 기존의 방식에 비해, 제안한 방법은 입력 영상에 존재하는 선소 특징의 대략적 위치 정보를 함께 얻을 수 있고 복잡한 입력영상에 대해서도 광학적 정확성을 높일수 있다. 이 방식을 실험적으로 입증하기 위해 $5\times5$ Hough 변환 필터 배열을 제작하고 기초적인 실험을 수행하였다.

영상처리에 기반한 게이트 운영시스템 개발 (Development of Gate Operation System Based on Image Processing)

  • The automated gate operating system is developed in this paper that controls the information of container at gate in the ACT. This system can be divided into three parts and consists of container identifier recognition car plate recognition container deformation perception. We linked each system and organized efficient gate operating system. To recognize container identifier the preprocess using LSPRD(Line Scan Proper Region Detection)is performed and the identifier is recognized by using neural network MBP When car plate is recognized only car image is extracted by using color information of car and hough transform. In the port of container deformation perception firstly background is removed by using moving window. Secondly edge is detected from the image removed characters on the surface of container deformation perception firstly background is removed by using moving window. Secondly edge is detected from the image removed characters on the surface of container. Thirdly edge is fitted into line segment so that container deformation is perceived. As a results of the experiment with this algorithm superior rate of identifier recognition is shown and the car plate recognition system and container deformation perception that are applied in real-time are developed.

  • This paper deals with the multiresolution analysis of wavelet transform for partial discharge(PD).PD is an electrical discharge that only partically bridges the insulation performance of electrical equipment in high voltage. PD signal is very sensitive and difficult to suppress strong noises such as narrow-band radio frequency noise and random noise. In recently, wavelet transform has become a powerful tool to analysis and process signals in various science and technology fields. In this paper, daubechies family is adopted for the research of the characteristics of PD signals. The results show that the kurtosis is increased with discharge process and skewness is decreased with discharge process, but when PD occured positive range then skewness is increased. Segment 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 values is increased with discharge process, so phase distribution is characterized by 210$\sim$330 ranges.

On the extended period of a frequency domain method to analyze transient responses

  • Transient response analysis can be conducted either in the time domain, or via the frequency domain. Sometimes a frequency domain method (FDM) has advantages over a time domain method. A practical issue in the FDM is to find out an appropriate extended period, which may be affected by several factors, such as the excitation duration, the system damping, the artificial damping, the period of interest, etc. In this report, the extended period of the FDM based on the Duhamel's integral is investigated. This Duhamel's integral based FDM does not involve the unit impulse response function (UIRF) beyond the period of interest. Due to this fact, the ever-lasting UIRF can be simply set as zero beyond the period of interest to shorten the extended period. As a result, the preferred extended period is the summation of the period of interest and the excitation duration. This conclusion is validated by numerical examples. If the extended period is too short, then the front portion of the period of interest is more prone to errors than the rear portion, but the free vibration segment is free of the wraparound error.

An Efficient Selective Method for Audio Watermarking Against De-synchronization Attacks

  • The high capacity audio watermarking algorithms are facing a main challenge in satisfying the robustness against attacks especially on de-synchronization attacks. In this paper, a robust and a high capacity algorithm is proposed using segment selection, Stationary Wavelet Transform (SWT) and the Quantization Index Modulation (QIM) techniques along with new synchronization mechanism. The proposed algorithm provides enhanced trade-off between robustness, imperceptibility, and capacity. The achieved watermarking improves the reliability of the available watermarking methods and shows high robustness towards signal processing (manipulating) attacks especially the de-synchronization attacks such as cropping, jittering, and zero inserting attacks. For imperceptibility evaluation, high signal to noise ratio values of above 22 dB has been achieved. Also subjective test with volunteer listeners shows that the proposed method has high imperceptibility with Subjective Difference Grade (SDG) of 4.76. Meanwhile, high rational capacity up to 176.4 bps is also achieved.

선 양자화법에 의한 웨이블릿 영상압축 (Pre-quantized Image Compression using Wavelet Transform)

  • 본 논문에서는 복원이 가능한 웨이블릿 변환을 사용한 통합된 손실 압축 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 알고리즘은 우선 원 영상에 선 양자화 과정을 진행하여 그레이 레벨의 수가 원 영상과 일치한 영상을 구성한다. 양자화 된 원 영상에 웨이블릿 변환 필터를 적용하여 대역분할을 한다. 가장 낮은 대역의 부호화는 재구성된 영상의 전체화질에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것을 고려하여 예측기를 사용한 허프만 부호화를 이용한다. 제안된 알고리즘에 의해 재구성된 영상들은 JPEG 및 선양자화 없이 원 영상의 웨이블릿 계수들을 부호화 하는 방법에 비해 높은 PSNR을 보였다. 선양자화 과정을 사용 함으로서 최대에러를 조절 할 수 있으며 대규모 영상압축에 유용할 것으로 기대된다.
