The purpose of this study was to design a single frequency BIA(Bioelectrical Impedance Analyzer) which can measure body impedance when patient is sitting on the toilet and to develope a prediction equation for designed BIA. For the purpose of this study, we acquired body impedances with designed BIA from 181 subjects composed of healthy Korean by attaching electrodes to suitable positions(wrist and thigh) for toilet measurement. We computed an appropriate FFM(Fat Free Mass) for Korean using modified-Siri equation to the same subjects instead of Siri equation which nay cause accuracy problems in hydrodensitometry when it applied to Korean. We used this FFM as reference value and developed a Korean FFM prediction equation based on body impedance index, body weight and sex. Correlation coefficient between prediction value and reference value of FFM was extremely high (r = 0.977) and SEE(Standard Error of Estimation) was low 2.47kg.(p<0.05) For comparison between existing electrode-attaching method and our method for toilet measurement, we acquired body impedance with designed BIA from same subjects attaching electrodes on existing positions (wrist and ankle) and made FFM prediction equation for BIA. Correlation coeffient between predicted value and reference value was 0.978 and SEE was 2.43kg(p<0.05). It means that the developed system has not significant differences with existing method. In conclusion bioelectrical impedance analyzer and the FFM prediction equation developed in this paper are evaluated to he adequate to compute FFM of Korean.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: The measurement of body composition, including muscle and fat mass, remains challenging in large epidemiological studies due to time constraint and cost when using accurate modalities. Therefore, this study aimed to develop and validate prediction equations according to sex to measure lean body mass (LBM), appendicular skeletal muscle mass (ASM), and body fat mass (BFM) using anthropometric measurement, serum creatinine level, and lifestyle factors as independent variables and dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry as the reference method. SUBJECTS/METHODS: A sample of the Korean general adult population (men: 7,599; women: 10,009) from the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2008-2011 was included in this study. The participants were divided into the derivation and validation groups via a random number generator (with a ratio of 70:30). The prediction equations were developed using a series of multivariable linear regressions and validated using the Bland-Altman plot and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). RESULTS: The initial and practical equations that included age, height, weight, and waist circumference had a different predictive ability for LBM (men: R2 = 0.85, standard error of estimate [SEE] = 2.7 kg; women: R2 = 0.78, SEE = 2.2 kg), ASM (men: R2 = 0.81, SEE = 1.6 kg; women: R2 = 0.71, SEE = 1.2 kg), and BFM (men: R2 = 0.74, SEE = 2.7 kg; women: R2 = 0.83, SEE = 2.2 kg) according to sex. Compared with the first prediction equation, the addition of other factors, including serum creatinine level, physical activity, smoking status, and alcohol use, resulted in an R2 that is higher by 0.01 and SEE that is lower by 0.1. CONCLUSIONS: All equations had low bias, moderate agreement based on the Bland-Altman plot, and high ICC, and this result showed that these equations can be further applied to other epidemiologic studies.

Shot change detection is an important technique for effective management of video data, so detection scheme requires adaptive detection techniques to be used actually in various video. In this paper, we propose an adaptive shot change detection algorithm using the mean of feature value on variable reference blocks. Our algorithm determines shot change detection by defining adaptive threshold values with the feature value extracted from video frames and comparing the feature value and the threshold value. We obtained better detection ratio than the conventional methods maximally by 15% in the experiment with the same test sequence. We also had good detection ratio for other several methods of feature extraction and could see real-time operation of shot change detection in the hardware platform with low performance was possible by implementing it in TVUS model of HOMECAST Company. Thus, our algorithm in the paper can be useful in PMP or other portable players.
Prefetching is one of widely used techniques to improve performance of I/O. But it has been reported that prefetching can bring adverse result on some reference pattern. This paper proposes a prefet-ching frame that can be adopted on existing prefetching techniques simply. The frame called IPRP (Improving Prefetching Effects by Exploiting Reference Patterns) and detects reference patterns online and control pre-fetching upon the characteristics of the detected pattern. In our experiment, we adopted IPRP on Linux read-ahead prefetching. IPRP could prevent adverse result clearly when Linux read-ahead prefetching increases total execution time about $40%{\sim}70%$. When Linux read-ahead prefetching could bring some benefit, IPRP with read- ahead performed similar or slightly better benefit on execution time. With this result we could see our IPRP can complement and improve legacy prefetching techniques efficiently.
The technology of wireless internet has been recently developing very fast and affecting everyday life using mobile media. In this paper, we propose an algorithm that can get necessary information such as image pixels from photos taken by mobile phones and search approximate values from reference database in the internet. This algorithm is expected to enable us to use a mobile phone to take a picture of something we see in every day life and go online to search for some information on that entity in the internet. An example system employing this proposed algorithm is illustrated in this paper.

This paper attempts to show how DEA(data envelopment analysis), a nonparametric productivity analysis method, can be employed for insurance companies to improve their respective efficiencies and competitiveness. Specifically, we measured relative technical efficiencies and returns to scale of 11 Korean property-liability insurance companies using BCC model, and raised several issues including the cause of inefficiency, benchmarking toward reference set and resource allocation concerning the insurance companies. Also, in order to monitor the variability of the research results over periods, we employed longitudinal analysis to see the moving patterns of technical efficiencies, returns to scale and frequencies included in the reference set of the individual insurance companies under consideration. The methodology and the results in this paper may also serve as a useful guideline for individual insurance companies to set their respective business strategies.

With the emergence of neural network, there is a revived interest in identification of nonlinear systems. So in this
paper, to identify unknown nonlinear systems dynamically we propose DPNN(Dynamic Polynomial Neural Network)
using GMDH (Group Method of Data Handling) algorithm. The dynamic system identification using
GMDH consists of applying a set of inputloutput data to train the network by dynamically computing the necessary
coeffici1:nt sets.
Then, MRAC(Mode1 Reference Adaptive Control) is designed to control nonlinear systems using DPNN. In the
result, we can see that the modelling and control using DPNN work well by computer simulation.
In this study, we proposed three analysis methods to calculate the flatness of torque-angle sensors (TAS). We introduced two statistical and one geometrical methods in evaluating the precision of the flat plane in the axis direction for TAS. To verified the results, we fabricated TAS and a reference sample using a injection molding machine, mold, polyester as a raw material. We measured ($x_i$, $y_i$) position using 3D contact automated system and applied three analysis methods developed for TAS and a reference sample to see the feasibility. While each analysis method has its own pros and cons, the analysis using the shortest optimal distance was the most precise technique for the flatness evaluation of TAS components.

This paper presents the performance of a parallel active power filter(PT) system in unbalanced load condition. The unbalanced load leads to negative sequence of current, and makes 120Hz ripple in the DC-link voltage forcing large capacitance and increases the rating of APF. thus, the separation of negative sequence is performed in synchronous reference frame and controlled to flow into supply network. The validity of the scheme is investigated through simulation and the experimental results for a prototype active power filter system rated at 10kVA.
This paper proposes a stable control rule for nonlinear unicycle-type mobile robot. The control method uses a local error coordinate system, velocity and distance constants $\kappa$$\_$x/, $\kappa$$\_$y/, and he. Stability of control rule is proved Liapunov function. System input to the mobile robot is reference posture ($\chi$$\_$r/, y$\_$r/, $\theta$$\_$r/)/sup/ $\tau$/ and reference e velocity (ν$\_$r/,$\omega$$\_$r/)$\^$$\tau$/. System output of the mobi-le robot is velocity of driving wheels. We introduce limit velocity for preventing high initial speed. From simulation results, we can see the proposed control rule is stable.
