  • Recently, security incidents are growing rapidly in which internal employees let the drawing leak out to competitors or other countries. This type of security incidents has a characteristic that it occurs less frequently than other types of security incidents such as network or server security incident, but the damage is a lot more serious. The existing information security technologies to prevent internal information from being leaked out are only applicable to general documents(office documents, web pages and image files in which data are encrypted one by one). However, architectural drawings made up of collection of files with various formats(extensions) have problems with the process speed of en(de) cryption and accuracy, so the developments of security technologies by new methods are required. In this study, we design and develop a security technology based on work area with which users can protect the leakage of critical information in the kernel level while maintaining their work environment when they have to use sharing information that cannot be managed by the unit of file. As a result, we developed the "Virtual Secure Disk" which allows only authorized users and applications to have an access to drawings, and have verified its security by applying it to the actual company.

  • A diversity of wireless networks, with rapidly evolving wireless technology, are currently in service. Due to their innate physical layer vulnerability, wireless networks require enhanced security components. WLAN, WiBro, and UMTS have defined proper security components that meet standard security requirements. Extensive research has been conducted to enhance the security of individual wireless platforms, and we now have meaningful results at hand. However, with the advent of ubiquitous service, new horizontal platform service models with vertical crosslayer security are expected to be proposed. Research on synchronized security service and interoperability in a heterogeneous environment must be conducted. In heterogeneous environments, to design the balanced security components, quantitative evaluation model of security policy in wireless networks is required. To design appropriate evaluation method of security policies in heterogeneous wireless networks, we formalize the security properties in wireless networks. As the benefit of security protocols is indicated by the quality of protection (QoP), we improve the QoP model and evaluate hybrid security policy in heterogeneous wireless networks by applying to the QoP model. Deriving relative indicators from the positive impact of security points, and using these indicators to quantify a total reward function, this paper will help to assure the appropriate benchmark for combined security components in wireless networks.

  • In this paper, we introduce an AES-based security chip for the embedded system of Internet of Things(IoT). We used Verilog HDL to implement the AES algorithm in FPGA. The designed AES module creates 128-bit cipher by encrypting 128-bit plain text and vice versa. RTL simulations are performed to verify the AES function and the theory is compared to the results. An FPGA emulation was also performed with 40 types of test sequences using two Altera DE0-Nano-SoC boards. To evaluate the performance of security algorithms, we compared them with AES implemented by software. The processing cycle per data unit of hardware implementation is 3.9 to 7.7 times faster than software implementation. However, there is a possibility that the processing speed grow slower due to the feature of the hardware design. This can be solved by using a pipelined scheme that divides the propagation delay time or by using an ASIC design method. In addition to the AES algorithm designed in this paper, various algorithms such as IPSec can be implemented in hardware. If hardware IP design is set in advance, future IoT applications will be able to improve security strength without time difficulties.

  • In this paper, we present multi-channel authentication based security card design. Since this security card is written on the transparent paper, security information is extracted by overlaying the card with smartphone screen. This method removes the limitations of physical layout in previous security card and improves the security level. Furthermore, our security card is secure when our card is exposed to malicious users.

  • It discovered a design error from the module to search required installing security patch of Windows Update and Automatic Updates that Microsoft supports it to install security patch easily and quickly. It explains and tests security patch-disguise attack by this error. Security patch-disguise attack is to maintains a vulnerability and to be not searched the security patch simultaneously. Also it composes an attack scenario. Is like that, it proposes the method which solves an design error of the module to search required installing security patch.

  • In this paper, the SPINS, a sensor network security mechanism, was researched to design a system to be applied to home network structure and check the security of which degree was ensured by a virtual network of home networking middleware. Sensor Network security mechanism SPINS provides data confidentiality and authentication by SNEP, and provides authenticated broadcast by ${\mu}TESLA$. We designed the system that applied SPINS to home networking middleware basic structure.

  • I&C (Instrumentation & Control) system is different from information system and the security design of the two systems are also different. The modeling activity is needed based on the security control guide in order to build I&C system security control. In this paper, the role and by the security control, we designed the relationship (that is, the relation schema) between the documents for 'The system for supporting the cyber security control of I&C system design' based on the security control guide. The designed schema plans 'The system for supporting the cyber security control of I&C system' for observing the security control guide, and is used as the database and content that supports its design and implementation. The process and system of the proposed schema is utilized and designed. The design of the schema and system is intensified in the design phase with the proposed mode and supporting the I&C system cyber security design.

Therefore, the today, corporation security is more and more emphasized. Security solution by that importance of security rises so is developing together Security solution is developing to ESM system in existing single system and important thing is function of each security solution and optimizing design of policy. Existent security policy taking a serious view security from external invasion but security of interior the importance rise the today. Accordingly, must construct ESM system of new structure for this. This paper proposes and embodied integration security administration system that solidify interior security utilizing IDS. Experiment external IP and ID access and analyzed the result.

  • From the early 1970s, the US government began to recognize that penetration testing could not assure the security quality of products. Results of penetration testing such as identified vulnerabilities and faults can be varied depending on the capabilities of the team. In other words none of penetration team can assure that "vulnerabilities are not found" is not equal to "product does not have any vulnerabilities". So the U.S. government realized that in order to improve the security quality of products, the development process itself should be managed systematically and strictly. Therefore, the US government began to publish various standards related to the development methodology and evaluation procurement system embedding "security-by-design" concept from the 1980s. Security-by-design means reducing product's complexity by considering security from the initial phase of development lifecycle such as the product requirements analysis and design phase to achieve trustworthiness of product ultimately. Since then, the security-by-design concept has been spread to the private sector since 2002 in the name of Secure SDLC by Microsoft and IBM, and is currently being used in various fields such as automotive and advanced weapon systems. However, the problem is that it is not easy to implement in the actual field because the standard or guidelines related to Secure SDLC contain only abstract and declarative contents. Therefore, in this paper, we present the new framework in order to specify the level of Secure SDLC desired by enterprises. Our proposed CIA (functional Correctness, safety Integrity, security Assurance)-level-based security-by-design framework combines the evidence-based security approach with the existing Secure SDLC. Using our methodology, first we can quantitatively show gap of Secure SDLC process level between competitor and the company. Second, it is very useful when you want to build Secure SDLC in the actual field because you can easily derive detailed activities and documents to build the desired level of Secure SDLC.

  • Risk-based security impact evaluation may be affected by various factors according to numerous combinations of explosive devices, cutting devices, impact vehicles, and specific attack location to consider. Presently, in planning and design phases, designers are still often uncertain of their responsibility, lack of information and training of security. Therefore, designers are still failing to exploit the potential to reduce threats on site. In this study, the concept of security impact assessment is introduced in order to derive the performing design for safety in design phase. For this purpose, a framework for security impact assessment model using risk-based approach for bridge structures is suggested. The suggested model includes of information survey, classification of terror threats, and quantitative estimation of severity and occurrence.
