  • Developed from Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB), DMB+ changes the application focus fundamentally. The plus symbol "+" indicates that DMB+ is no longer for digital radio/videos, instead it works as a general data transmission technique. The merits of wireless transmission, broad coverage, high quality, information security and low building/maintenance cost make DMB+ suitable for a wide range of applications with numerous terminals and users, such as public information release, alarm and administration etc. The concept of DMB+ base station enables DMB+ to be used in building independent networks and for remote control and management, as well as for Industry 4.0. DMB+ will access into a new field that till now has been dominated by communication techniques, will open a huge commercial opportunity.

  • In this paper we first propose a new cryptosystem based on our data hiding scheme (2,9,8) introduced in 2019 with high security, where encrypting and hiding are done at once, the ciphertext does not depend on the input image size as existing hybrid techniques of cryptography and steganography. We then exploit our automata approach presented in 2019 to design two algorithms for exact and approximate pattern matching on secret data encrypted by our cryptosystem. Theoretical analyses remark that these algorithms both have O(n) time complexity in the worst case, where for the approximate algorithm, we assume that it uses ⌈(1-ε)m)⌉ processors, where ε, m and n are the error of our string similarity measure and lengths of the pattern and secret data, respectively. In searchable encryption, our cryptosystem is used by users and our pattern matching algorithms are performed by cloud providers.

  • Recently ubiquitous application services are developed plentifully using RFID techniques in the field of distribution and security industries. However, except these field the applications using RFID are not mature yet. In this study, we proposed a real-time context service model of the u-conference based on the real-time contextual information acquired from conference and exposition. With collection of real-time contextual information for u-conference, the model can provide a lot of information services on the state of session attendee, doorway control, affairs, user certification, presentation progress etc. For the verification of proposed real-time context service model of u-conference, we design and implement the conference progress state service included the state of session attendee, user certification and presentation progress etc. This service provides the presentation state information included the current presenter, the paper list, the number of session attendee, the schedule and place of each session using the collecting RFID tag and the related information.

  • The emergence of cloud has been able to provide a variety of IT service to the user. As organizations and companies are increased that provide these cloud service, many problems arises on integration. However, with the advent of latest technologies such as big data, document-oriented database, and MapReduce, this problem can be easily solved. This paper is intended to design the Cloud Aggregator to provide them as a service to collect information of the cloud system providing each service. To do this, we use the DBaaS(DataBase as a Service) and MapReduce techniques. This makes it possible to maintain the functionality of existing system and correct the problem that may occur depending on the combination.

  • In this paper, we introduce the implementation of the security system using iris recognition. This system acquires images with infrared camera and extracts the 2D code from a infrared image which uses scale-space filtering and concavity. We examine the system by (i) extract 2D code and (ii) compare the code that stored on the server (iii) measure FAR and FRR using pattern matching. Experiment results show that the proposed method is very suitable.

  • The damages from DDoS attacks are increasing as DDoS attacks are taking various forms. This has resulted not only in decreased reliability of organizations and corporations but also in the threat of national security. Organizations and corporations are making significant efforts in developing a system through which they can appropriately correspond to DDoS attacks. However, the studies on objective index for evaluating the performance of DDoS correspondence are lacking. The majority of the existing studies have been on the information protection & management system on a large scale. Accordingly, the scope of this thesis will be limited to DDoS correspondence to propose correspondence index for quantitatively measuring and managing them. The statistical techniques such as SMART technique and factor analysis will be utilized accordingly.

  • The recent cyber attacks paralyzed several major banking services, broadcasters, and affected the services of a telecommunications provider. Media outlets classified the attack as cyber terror and named it an Advanced Persistant Threat. Although the attack significantly disrupted these services for at least one day, various components used in the attack were not new. Previous major cyber attacks towards targets in South Korea employed more advanced techniques thus causing greater damage. This paper studies the anatomy of the recent 2013.3.20 attack, studies the technical sophistication of the malware and attack vectors used compared with previous attacks.

  • Technology acceptance model has demonstrated that technology adoption behavior can be explained by two user belief constructs: perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. A number of studies have explored how these beliefs develop by utilizing primarily individual-level antecedents. However, because innovation and new techniques bear a direct relation to social concerns, non-individual antecedents may be necessary. Therefore, in this study, social and organizational supports are used to understand how software developers foster beliefs regarding secure coding practices. We compiled data from 83 software developers to evaluate the technology acceptance model. Our findings show that these collective antecedents can effectively explain user belief constructs and the intention to adopt secure coding methodologies. These findings imply that society and organizations offering more concrete support programs will experience smoother deployment of security-enhancing measures.

  • Gait recognition, as a promising biometric, can be used in video-based surveillance and other security systems. However, due to the complexity of leg movement and the difference of external sampling conditions, gait recognition still faces many problems to be addressed. In this paper, an improved convolutional neural network (CNN) based on Gabor filter is therefore proposed to achieve gait recognition. Firstly, a gait feature extraction layer based on Gabor filter is inserted into the traditional CNNs, which is used to extract gait features from gait silhouette images. Then, in the process of gait classification, using the output of CNN as input, we utilize metric learning techniques to calculate distance between two gaits and achieve gait classification by k-nearest neighbors classifiers. Finally, several experiments are conducted on two open-accessed gait datasets and demonstrate that our method reaches state-of-the-art performances in terms of correct recognition rate on the OULP and CASIA-B datasets.
