Disasters that occur most frequently in rural areas are drought, flood, damages from wind and cold weather. Among these, damages from storm and flood and drought are the main disasters and recently, these are occurring on a large scale due to unusual weather conditions. Under such circumstances, projects and researches on disasters in rural areas are under way but they are mostly targeting one area or making approaches focusing on repair facilities, maintenance project of facilities in small streams, and disaster management, so there have not been enough studies on the current status of overall damaged facilities in the rural areas. Against this backdrop, through the analysis of the current status of damaged facilities due to storm and flood in rural areas, this study aims to provide base data for policies needed for disaster recovery planning and maintenance work of rural areas. For the analysis of damaged facilities due to storm and flood in rural areas, using the annual report on disasters issued by Ministry of Public Safety and Security and based on the occurrence rate of estimated damage in each city and district for the past 10 years(2004~2013), 8 areas with the highest number of occurrence and cost of damage were found from each province and target areas were selected. Then, regarding the selected target areas, the General Plan for Reducing Damages from Storm and Flood, which is the report on top-level plan for preventing disasters, was secured and the current status of damaged facilities were analyzed. After organizing the analysis of current status, the tendency of damaged facilities due to storm and flood in rural areas, the items of damaged facilities depending on the types of storm and flood damages, and risk factors were suggested. Based on this result, in order to generalize the results of follow-up researches, it is thought that disaster recovery planning and establishing the system of remodeling items necessary for maintenance work would be possible by analyzing damage investigation items recorded in additional researches on rural areas, researches on natural disasters, and recovery plan instructions and by conducting on-site investigation on the damaged villages from storm and flood in rural areas.

Tampering involves illegally removing technologies from a protected system through reverse engineering or developing a system without proper authorization. As tampering of a weapon system is a threat to national security, anti-tampering measures are required. Precedent studies on anti-tampering have discussed the necessity, related trends, application cases, and recent cybersecurity-based or other protection methods. In a domestic situation, the Defense Technology Protection Act focuses on how to prevent technology leakage occurring in related organizations through personnel, facilities and information systems. Anti-tampering design needs to determine which technologies are protected while considering the effects of development cost and schedule. The objective of our study is to develop methods of how to select target technologies and determine counter-measures to protect these technologies. Specifically, an evaluation matrix was derived based on the risk analysis concept to select the protection of target technologies. Also, based on the concept of risk mitigation, the classification of anti-tampering techniques was performed according to its applicability and determination of application levels. Results of the case study revealed that the methods proposed can be systematically applied for anti-tampering in weapon system development.
Even though various types of sensors are being used for security applications, radar sensors are being suggested as an alternative due to the privacy issues. Among those radar sensors, PD radar has high-complexity receiver, but, FMCW radar requires fewer resources. However, FMCW has disadvantage from the use of 2D-FFT which increases the complexity, and it is difficult to distinguish people from objects those are stationary. In this paper, we present the design and the implementation results of the radar signal processor (RSP) that can distinguish between people and object by respiration measurement using phase estimation without 2D-FFT. The proposed RSP is designed with Verilog-HDL and is implemented on FPGA device. It was confirmed that the proposed RSP includes 6,425 LUT, 4,243 register, and 12,288 memory bits with 92.1% accuracy for target's breathing status.
PKI-based public key scheme is outstanding in terms of authenticity and privacy. Nevertheless its application brings big burden due to the certificate/key management. It is difficult to apply it to limited computing devices in WSN because of its high encryption complexity. The Bilinear Pairing emerged from the original IBE to eliminate the certificate, is a future significant cryptosystem as based on the DDH(Decisional DH) algorithm which is significant in terms of computation and secure enough for authentication, as well as secure and faster. The practical EC Weil Pairing presents that its encryption algorithm is simple and it satisfies IND/NM security constraints against CCA. The Random Oracle Model based IBE PKG is appropriate to the structure of our target system with one secret file server in the operational perspective. Our work proposes modification of the Weil Pairing as proper to the closed network for secret file distribution[2]. First we proposed the improved one computing both encryption and message/user authentication as fast as O(DES) level, in which our scheme satisfies privacy, authenticity and integrity. Secondly as using the public key ID as effective as PKI, our improved IBE variant reduces the key exposure risk.
Since the launch of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2001, Afghanistan has been a critical battle ground for war against global terrorism. For the last 10 years, the U.S. government and its allies and the Afghan government have put a considerable effort to crush terrorists and insurgents and at the same time to construct nationwide governance system. Yet, the noble mission still seems far from complete. Terrorist or insurgent operations in Afghanistan are still active and troublesome. Thus this subject continues to draw a considerable attention of research or investigative reports to grasp an insightful knowledge or intelligence that may allow a better handling of terrorist troubles in this war-torn nation. This study hopes to serve this purpose by providing analyzed information on terrorist bombings in Afghanistan occurred between 2004 and 2007. It adopts GIS (Geographic information System) analysis technique to uncover spatially patterned aspects of terrorist bombing attacks in Afghanistan. The specific focus of this study is to examine whether terrorists behave rationally when they decide which targets to attack. For analysis, this study will focus on examining whether characteristics of localities have certain impact on the risk of being targets of terrorist bombing attacks. To examine the hypothesis of this study, it will explore how the spatial risk of becoming targets of terrorist bombing attack interacts with cost necessary for executing a ttack paid b y terrorists; 1) by demonstrating the spatial distribution of bombing attacks in Afghanistan and 2) by estimating the distance between headquarters (or home base) of terrorists groups and the bombed target area.

Existing web based information service system solutions show limitations in mobile information services, as well as problems such as uncertain error messages, and difficulty providing swift assistance or real time emergency support. In order to solve these deficiencies, a realtime wireless remote control system has been designed and implemented in this thesis, which is capable of managing and monitoring remote systems using mobile communication devices (Mobile Phone, PDA, Smart Phone) for realtime control. Proposed systems are applied at remote places, for instance 'office building', and a nursery school like 'kindergarten'. In the case of implemented at office building, it can be managing and controlling at real time all sorts of the sensor information that are installed at office building system environment through wire(web environment) or wireless(mobile device). In the other case at kindergarten system that are providing the real-time wireless remote control and monitoring system can be monitoring activity of kindergarten children with a mobile phone of authentication user. The security functions of proposed systems include mobile device user authentication and target system access control. The proposed systems allow real-time user authentication function and system access control function that improve the security of resource administrators and mobile device users, and provides not only uninterrupted services, but also real time mobile service environments.

The Android framework allows apps to take full advantage of personal information through granting single permission, and does not determine whether the data being leaked is actual personal information. To solve these problems, we propose a tool with static/dynamic analysis. The tool analyzes the Source and Sink used by the target app, to provide users with information on what personal information it used. To achieve this, we extracted the Source and Sink through Control Flow Graph and make sure that it leaks the user's privacy when there is a Source-to-Sink flow. We also used the sensitive permission information provided by Google to obtain information from the sensitive API corresponding to Source and Sink. Finally, our dynamic analysis tool runs the app and hooks information from each sensitive API. In the hooked data, we got information about whether user's personal information is leaked through this app, and delivered to user. In this process, an automated Source/Sink classification model was applied to collect latest Source/Sink information, and the we categorized latest release version of Android(9.0) with 88.5% accuracy. We evaluated our tool on 2,802 APKs, and found 850 APKs that leak personal information.
This study attempts to deduce the necessity and validity of complexation, and suggests complexation through complexation suitability evaluations as follows. First, the concept and current state of leisure facilities for the elderly and elementary facilities and architectural complexation were investigated through theoretical considerations. Second, the target schools for complexation of 'elementary school-leisure facility for the elderly' were selected. The aspects of facility introduction of an elementary school, teacher support facility, convenience facility for the disabled, safety and security facilities as well as school facility accessibility were investigated on the basis of the data attained from theoretical considerations. Third, the feasibility of complexation of leisure facilities for the elderly was reviewed, based on the investigated data on complexation-targeted elementary school. Regarding school building and support facilities, with a focus on leisure programs for the elderly, the availability and number of rooms, extra numbers of regular classrooms and the room condition were assessed on the basis of the analysis of operational perspective of each facility. The convenience facilities for the disabled were examined by classifying them into interventional facility in consideration of facilities for the elderly, pursuant to the provisions in the convenience promotion assurance act for the disabled, elderly and pregnant women. Safety and security facilities were evaluated in an effort to assess the safety issue of the elderly and children. The result of the evaluation of the 6 elementary schools in Seong-buk county based on the above-mentioned four measurement standards shows that they scored 107~124 points out of the total 155 points, with the average of 118.5 points. This is more than the medium score and shows the possible complexation of the elementary school facilities as the leisure facilities for the elderly, and at the same time it may lead each school to find out the elements conducive to enhancing the complexation as a result of the evaluation. Through the evaluation data, I expect that we contribute to promoting the process of the evaluation of the appropriateness of complexation and the efficient complexation.
This paper presents the design of network vulnerability analysis system which can integrate various vulnerability assessment tools to improve the preciseness of the vulnerability scan result. Manual checking method performed by a security expert is the most precise and safe way. But this is not appropriate for the large-scale network which has a lot of systems and network devices. Therefore automatic scanning tool is recommended for fast and convenient use. The scanning targets may be different according to the kind of vulnerability scanners, or otherwise even for the same scanning target, the scanning items and the scanning results may be different by each vulnerability scanner, Accordingly, there are the cases in which various scanners, instead of a single scanner, are simultaneously utilized with the purpose of complementing each other. However, in the case of simultaneously utilizing various scanners on the large-scale network, the integrative analysis and relevance analysis on vulnerability information by a security manager becomes time-consumable or impossible. The network vulnerability analysis system suggested in this paper provides interface which allows various vulnerability assessment tools to easily be integrated, common policy which can be applied for various tools at the same time, and automated integrative process.
