  • As regulatory bodies require full implementation of security controls in nuclear power plants (NPPs), security functions for critical digital assets are currently being developed. For the ultimate introduction of security controls, not alternative measures, it is important to understand the relationship between possible cyber threats to NPPs and security controls to prevent them. To address the effectiveness of the security control implementation, this study investigated the types of cyber threats that can be prevented when the security controls are implemented through the mapping of the reorganized security controls in RS-015 to cyber threats on NPPs. Through this work, the cyber threat that each security control can prevent was confirmed, and the effectiveness of several strategies for implementing the security controls were compared. This study will be a useful reference for utilities or researchers who cannot use design basis threat (DBT) directly and be helpful when introducing security controls to NPPs that do not have actual security functions.

  • While the social activities using Internet become generalized, the side effect of the information security violation is increasing steadily and threaten the countries which is not ready to prevent from offensive penetration such as the Information-fighter or Cyber-military. In this paper, we define the concept and characteristics of the modern Information-Warfare and analyze various kinds of threatened elements and also examine the recent trend in other countries. And introducing Computer Forensics raised recently for the confrontation against the security violation in the future, we will show the developing strategies and the necessity in order to response cyber attacks. These developing strategies can be used to ensure and re-trace the technical evidence for the security violation and to achieve the disaster relief effectively. So we hope that can apply them to the actual preparation through developing cyber trial test of the defense and attack for the Information-Warfare.

  • The purpose of this research is to achieve qualitative growth for private security industry as a sector of service industry to attract clients and promote the growth of the private security industry by analyzing the factors which influence the customer's service satisfaction in using the private security services. A regression analysis was conducted to determine the factors which influences the satisfaction of private security service to ultimately achieve the research purpose. In the regression analysis, the difference between corporate clients and individual clients were analyzed for the sake of providing better security services and marketing applications. As a result, the factors that influences the satisfaction of the categorized groups were very clearly signified. Both individual and corporate clients showed increase in satisfaction rate when the fear of crime decreased. This result implies that the private security firms must possess segmented strategies as well as strategies to lower the fear factors of clients. There were no differences in all satisfaction-influencing factors when the fear reduction variable was exempted among both corporate and individual clients in usage satisfaction. This result shows that clients demand varies according to the client and the security firms must react to these demands by the clients. Although private security industry possess very clear publicity, it is a profit generating industry sector therefore, like other service industry, the private security services must implement strategies to keep up with the paradigm. If the satisfaction determinants from the research results are grafted into strategies such relationship marketing and target market selection, higher service satisfaction can be achieved from the clients.

  • Defense industry as 'a new dynamics of economic growth' policy implies driving policy of defense products' export. The purpose of this study is to suggest suitable strategies to meet with such policy in terms of region and individual nation. The strategies towards advanced region are joint sale strategy for the third countries, extension strategy of trade-off and development strategy of products to exploit niche markets. The strategies towards non-advanced regions are package strategy including exchange of economic development know-how, strengthening strategy of relationships to leading groups in national decision-making processes, exploit strategy of sales market through transfer discard and surplus equipments to other nations, government to government sale strategy towards countries holding low leveled equipment maintaining and management abilities. Finally, successive strategies require leaders' will, active sales diplomacy and active international cooperations of defense industry.

  • With the recent increase in remote access due to network expansion, cloud infrastructure expansion, and telecommuting, the need to be vigilant not only from external access but also from internal access is increasing. Because of this, a new network security model called zero trust is attracting attention. In this paper, we will briefly introduce the concept of zero trust and examine strategies for applying zero trust according to various business environments.

  • The physical protection systems of Nuclear Power Plant are utilized to safeguard targets against intrude by attacker. As the methods employed by attackers to intrude Nuclear Power Plant become increasingly complex and diverse, there is an urgent need to identify optimal defense strategies to interrupt adversary intrusions. This paper focuses on studying the defense of security personnel against adversary intrusions and utilizes an evolutionary game approach to select the optimal defense decisions for physical protection systems. Under the assumption of bounded rationality for both the attacker and defender, the paper constructs replication dynamic equations for attack and defense strategies, investigating the process of strategy selection and the stability of evolution. Finally, a minimal model is proposed to validate the feasibility of utilizing the evolutionary game model for defense strategy selection.

  • WSN has been utilized in various directions from basic infrastructure of environment composition to business models including corporate inventory, production and distribution management. However, as energy organizations' private information, which should be protected safely, has been integrated with ICT such as WSN to be informatization, it is placed at potential risk of leaking out with ease. Accordingly, it is time to need secure sensor node deployment strategies for stable enterprise business. Establishment of fragmentary security enhancement strategies without considering energy organizations' security status has a great effect on energy organizations' business sustainability in the event of a security accident. However, most of the existing security level evaluation models for diagnosing energy organizations' security use technology-centered measurement methods, and there are very insufficient studies on managerial and environmental factors. Therefore, this study would like to diagnose energy organizations' security and to look into how to accordingly establish strategies for planning secure sensor node deployment strategies.

  • What is national security? National security is reduced for state national security. At present, national security threats can be divided into main enemies and potential ones and main enemies are separated inside and external ones. Arnold Toynbee said, "The destruction of the state is starting not from outside but from inside". This means we must be aware of inside enemies. How much do we know of the internal enemies who are trying to divide the people and overthrow the state? This paper focuses on corresponding strategies to depend our democratic state against inside enemies who penetrate all sectors of society and fabricate rumors, incite violence, and even try to overthrow our legitimate state with the base on the lessons of past West Germany case.

  • With the advancement of AI and IoT, cybersecurity threats have increased dramatically. As the methods and objectives of cyber-attacks evolve, universities, like all major industries, are facing serious cybersecurity issues. Universities hold vast amounts of sensitive information such as students' personal data, research data, and intellectual property, making them prime targets for cyber threats. Therefore, this paper aims to present cybersecurity strategies from both institutional and technical perspectives to help university leaders and policymakers enhance their cybersecurity posture. The study reviews current trends through the flow of cyber-attacks and proposes governance, policy development, risk management, and the establishment of FIDO and AI-based security systems to respond to the increase in sophisticated threats such as ransomware and AI-based malware.

  • Israel craves peace and freedom. Israel has won many wars and conflicts militarily. They have developed strategic thinking based on the data, unique culture, and peacetime preparation system accumulated so far, and the strategic culture based on it contributes to fostering elite strong forces by presenting directions to security strategies. The strategic culture formed by Israeli beliefs, behavioral patterns, and identity influenced strategic thinking and the usefulness of security strategies. The purpose of this study is to redefine the concept of strategic culture by referring to the methodological discussion of strategic culture theory and to examine how useful strategic culture has provided strategic thinking and security strategies. In addition, based on the impact of Israel's strategic culture on security strategy, I would like to present implications for Korea's security strategy.
