  • The main goal of higher education institutions is to present a high level of quality education to its students. This study uses data mining techniques to extract educational data from cumulative databases and used them to make the right decisions. This paper also aims to find the factors affecting students' academic performance in Majmaah University, KSA, during 2010 - 2017 period. The study utilized a sample of 6,158 students enrolled from two colleges, males and females. The results showed a high percentage of stumbling and dismissed between graduate and regular students where more than 62.5% failed to follow the plan. Only 2% of students scored distinction during their study of all graduated since their grade point average, secondary level, was statistically significant, where p<0.05. Dismissed percentage was higher among males. These results promoted some recommendations in which decision-makers could take them in considerations for better improvement of academic achievements: including of specialized programs to follow-up in regards to stumbling and failure. Utilization of different communication tools are needed to activate academic advisory for dismiss and dropout evaluation.

  • Public healthcare has recently become an issue of great importance due to the exponential growth in the human population, the increase in medical expenses, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Speed is one of the crucial factors in saving life, particularly in case of heart attack. Therefore, a healthcare device is needed to continuously monitor and follow up heart health conditions remotely without the need for the patient to attend a medical center. Therefore, this paper proposes a portable electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring system to improve healthcare for heart attack patients in both home and ambulance settings. The proposed system receives the ECG signals of the patient and sends the ECG values to a MySQL database on the IoT-cloud via Wi-Fi. The signals are displayed as an ECG data chart on a webpage that can be accessed by the patient's doctor based on the HTTP protocol that is employed in the IoT-cloud. The proposed system detects the ECG data of the patient to calculate the total number of heartbeats, number of normal heartbeats, and the number of abnormal heartbeats, which can help the doctor to evaluate the health status of the patient and decide on a suitable medical intervention. This system therefore has the potential to save time and life, but also cost. This paper highlights the five main advantages of the proposed ECG monitoring system and makes some recommendations to develop the system further.

  • This study touched on the effect of the different electronic course designs on the programming skills of university students. The researcher used the experimental research design of a quasi-experimental of two experimental groups to achieve the objectives of the study. The first group underwent an electronic course designed in the holistic pattern, and the second group was taught a course in a sequential pattern. This experimental design was intended to measure the impact of these two learning modes on the learners' cognitive and performance achievement of programming skills. An achievement test and observational form were the data collection tools. Data were analyzed statistically using Pearson correlation, Mann Whitney Test, and Alpha Cronbach. The findings revealed statistically- significant differences between the mean scores of the students of the first and second experimental groups in favor of the former concerning the observational form and the latter in the cognitive test. Based on the findings, some recommendations are suggested. Due to their effectiveness in the educational process, expanding using the e-courses at universities is vital. The university teachers are highly recommended to design e-courses and provide technical and material support to the e-courses user to fulfill their design purpose.

  • The article contains an overview of the results of recent research by think tanks in different countries, devoted to the analysis of economic resilience factors in the Covid-19 crisis and the development of recommendations for improving preparedness for the next crises. The authors consider and propose a theoretical framework for the concept of the resilience of economic systems. The impact of the COVID-19 crisis on national economies is analyzed. Factors explaining the different cability of economic systems to withstand shock in the short and long term are identified. The reactions of market participants and national governments to the crisis are assessed. It is shown how the COVID-19 crisis has affected the digital transformation of economic systems, and how digital transformation helps to increase the resilience of national economies so that the latter can emerge from the crisis even stronger.

  • The main purpose of the article is to determine the role of the digitalization phenomenon (its positive and negative sides) as a means of anti-corruption policy in the healthcare sector of Ukraine and provide practical recommendations for transforming the domestic healthcare sector based on digitalization through the implementation of organizational and legal measures. The definitions of such concepts as: corruption in the healthcare sector; digitalization; digitalization of the healthcare sector; e-medicine. A typology of reasons for promoting the development of corruption in the healthcare sector of modern Ukraine is given. As a result of the study, a number of scientific tasks were implemented. The negative side of the introduction of digitalization in the healthcare sector has been identified and illustrated. The types of e-services in the healthcare sector are systematized, each of them is characterized and the fundamental directions of their development are indicated. The existing problems of technostress are characterized (techno-overload; techno-invasion; techno-complexity; techno-insecurity; techno-uncertainty). In the context of considering digitalization as a means of anti-corruption policy in the healthcare sector, practical organizational and legal measures are proposed for implementation.

  • The teacher is considered the cornerstone of the educational process; the quality of education is linked mainly to teachers who perform such a necessary process. The shift in pedagogical thinking has led to progress in looking at the teacher's roles; he is no longer transferring knowledge to learners, but instead, he has become a mentor, a mediator, a planner, an intellect, and a leader. If we analyze these missions from the perspective of mental habits, we will see that they require the teacher to develop the skills of perseverance, listening comprehension, thinking flexibly, controlling emotions, self-confidence, communication skills, and other essential skills. The current research verifies the effectiveness of an instructional program based on web quests in developing habits of the mind of English language students. The study employed a quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of 46 male students representing two classes. They were assigned randomly into an experimental group (n=24) and a control group (n=22). They were undergraduate students majoring in the English language. The findings showed a statistically significant difference in the mean scores of the experimental and control groups favoring the experimental group. The study concludes with some recommendations to differentiate teaching techniques in EFL classrooms.

  • Several studies have been conducted on market orientation over the last three decades. However, the majority of previous research focused exclusively on an internal vision that conceives the market orientation from an organizational perspective, considering the market orientation as a strictly perceived culture or behavior by company's staff (managers and employees) .This study aims to emphasize the importance of analyzing the market orientation from a dual perspective by investigating simultaneously the perceptions of customers and those of managers. It examines the perceptual gap or perceptual congruence of market orientation between customers and managers. A survey is conducted with Tunisian bank managers and B to B customers to measure their market orientation perception. The results should reveal level of manager's market orientation in Tunisian banks compared to customers' perceptions. The perception gaps of market orientation between managers and customers named congruence is highlighted and categorized. This study provides some contributions to fill the gap emerging from the one-sidedness of market orientation evaluation and gives a dyadic vision of market orientation that helps managers in their continuous learning about markets and sensing customers' needs and expectations. Market orientation level between the two groups is evaluated to give some managerial recommendations.

  • Taking into account the globalization of the economy and the intensification of European integration processes, it has been proved that an important part of evaluating the effectiveness of activity of public sector enterprises should be a comparative analysis of the overall operation environment, namely public procurement, economic environment and tax policy, with the relevant systems of other countries of the world. The indicators and components of international ratings "Doing Business", "Paying Taxes", "Benchmarking Public Procurement" have been studied. Different groups of indicators forming "Doing Business" and "Paying Taxes" in the context of the impact on public sector enterprises have been identified: those which fully comply with the need to evaluate the operating environment of public sector enterprises and those which should be used with restrictions, regarding the peculiarities of creating and functioning of public sector enterprises. A comparative analysis of the place of Ukraine, Lithuania and Slovenia among other countries of the world in accordance with the international rankings of "Doing Business", "Paying Taxes", "Benchmarking Public Procurement" have been made. It has been substantiated that the results of such comparative analysis will allow identifying risk areas, and relevant information can be used in developing of recommendations for improving the effectiveness of activity of public sector enterprises.
