  • Contrary to past critical infrastructure network, current critical infrastructure network is adopting IoT devices and efficient management system using the external networks. Using this system, productivity and management efficiency could be enhanced compared to past critical infrastructure network. But cybersecurity issue could be occurred at external network connection, so cybersecurity guideline is necessary. However, critical infrastructure organizations tend to use the cybersecurity guideline issued by government because it is hard to develop cybersecurity guideline on their own. But the government's cybersecurity guideline isn't suitable for the critical infrastructure network because it doesn't include critical infrastructure's specific characteristics. Therefor, we suggested the development method of cybersecurity guideline for the critical infrastructure network based on analysing cybersecurity guideline standards and critical infrastructure networks.

  • There are many attempts to apply AI technology to diagnose facilities or improve the work efficiency of the power industry. The emergence of new machine learning technologies, such as deep learning, is accelerating the digital transformation of the power sector. The problem is that traditional power systems face security risks when adopting state-of-the-art AI systems. This adoption has convergence characteristics and reveals new cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities to the power system. This paper deals with the security measures and implementations of the power system using machine learning. Through building a commercial facility operations forecasting system using machine learning technology utilizing power big data, this paper identifies and addresses security vulnerabilities that must compensated to protect customer information and power system safety. Furthermore, it provides security guidelines by generalizing security measures to be considered when applying AI.

  • To enhance effective and efficient applications of automated security vulnerability checkers in highly competitive and fast-evolving IT industry, this paper studies a comprehensive set of security bug checkers in open-source static analysis frameworks and how they can be utilized for source code inspections according to the security vulnerability inspection guidelines by MOIS. This paper clarifies the relationship be tween all 42 inspection criteria in the MOIS guideline and total 323 security bug checkers in 4 popular open-source static analysis frameworks for Java web applications. Based on the result, this paper also discuss the current challenges and issues in the MOIS guideline, the comparison among the four security bug checker frameworks, and also the ideas to improve the security inspection methodologies using the MOIS guideline and open-source static security bug checkers.

  • As big-data and cloud security technologies become popular, many researchers have recently been conducted on faster and lighter encryption. As a result, National Security Research Institute developed LEA which is lightweight and fast block cipher. To date, there have been various studies on lightweight encryption algorithm (LEA) for speeding up using GPU rather than conventional CPU. However, it is rather difficult to explore any guideline how to manipulate the GPU for the efficient usage of the LEA. Therefore, we introduce a guideline which explains how to implement and design the optimal LEA using GPU.

  • The existing landslide warning guideline was mostly issued in 1990's and did not consider recent weather changes such as focused area heavy rainfall or regional geographic features. And every regional government applies the guideline equally which results in continued disasters. Thus it is necessary to conduct a research on landslide with regards to the correlation between the increased focused rainfall and regional geographic features. We propose a renewed emergency escape guideline against steep slope landslides that can assess most likely avalanche time according to amounts of rain and a continued raining time, for a swift escape of the residents of the affected area.

  • Compared to the past infrastructure networks, the current smart grid network can improve productivity and management efficiency. However, as the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Internet-based standard communication protocol is used, external network contacts are created, which is accompanied by security vulnerabilities from various perspectives. Accordingly, it is necessary to develop an appropriate cybersecurity guideline that enables effective reactions to cybersecurity threats caused by the abuse of such defects. Unfortunately, it is not easy for each organization to develop an adequate cybersecurity guideline. Thus, the cybersecurity checklist proposed by a government organization is used. The checklist does not fully reflect the characteristics of each infrastructure network. In this study, we proposed a cybersecurity framework that reflects the characteristics of a microgrid network in the IIoT environment, and performed an analysis to validate the proposed framework.

  • There are various cyber attacks on business PCs. In order to reduce the threat of PC security, we are preventing the vulnerability from being diagnosed beforehand. However, this guideline is difficult to cope with because the domestic vulnerability guide does not update the diagnostic items. In this paper, we examine the cyber infringement cases of PCs and the diagnostic items of foreign technical vulnerabilities in order to cope with security threats. In addition, an improved guide is provided by comparing the differences in the diagnostic items of technical vulnerability from abroad and domestic. Through 41 proposed technical vulnerability improvement items, it was found that various security threats can be coped with. Currently, it is mainly able to respond to only known vulnerabilities, but we hope that applying this guideline will reduce unknown security threats.

  • The Common Criteria can be used as a guideline for one CCRA member to avoid re-evaluating IT security products which were already evaluated by other CCRA members. In this paper, we have analyzed the evaluated IT security products under CC scheme in several nations, such as Unite States, Great Britain and Australia. and defined new category of the IT security products for the domestic CC evaluation. And we have analyzed the domestic and international market on the information security products, have conducted a poll to receive opinions and demands of the Korean industries for Korea policy decision maker to select the possible IT security products which will be evaluated in Korea under CC scheme. As a conclusion, we have selected 15 IT products based on the response to a poll by the industries, the market size, the evaluation amount demanded by the user, manufacturer, and evaluator, to select the possible IT security product under CC schemes in Korea during next 5 years. Moreover, the characteristics, the benefit, and the demerit of the selected IT products were analyzed. This paper can be used as a guideline document for Korea policy decision maker to select the IT products to be evaluated under CC scheme in Korea for next 5 years.

  • We propose an improvement on the Guideline of Secure Software Development for Korea e-Government that is under revision by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security in 2012. We adopted a rule-oriented organization instead shifting from the current weakness-oriented one. The correspondence between the weakness and coding rules is identified. Also, added is the coverage of diagnostic tools over the rules to facilitate the usage by programmers during coding period When the proposed guideline is applied to secure software development, the weakness would be controlled indirectly by enforcing coding rules. Programmers responsibility would be limited to the compliance of the rules, while the current version implies that it is programmers responsibility to guarantee being free from the weakness, which is hard to achieve at reasonable cost.
