  • In Common Criteria evaluation scheme, sponsor and evaluator should estimate evaluation cost and duration of IT security system evaluation in contracting the evaluation project. In this paper, We analyzed study result that achieve at 2003 and 2005, and utilized part of study result. And we empirically estimate relative evaluation effort ratios among evaluation assurance levels($EAL1{\sim}EAL7$) in CC v2.3 and CC v3.1. Also, we estimate the ratios from 'developer action elements', adjusted 'content and presentation of evidence elements', and 'evaluator action elements 'for each assurance component. We, especially, use ratio of amount of effort for each 'evaluator action elements', that was obtained from real evaluators in KISA in 2003. Our result will useful for TOE sponsor as well as evaluation project manager who should estimate evaluation cost and duration for a specific EAL and type of TOE, in a new CC v3.1 based evaluation schem.

  • In this paper, due to the network security defense is mainly static defense, a dynamic classification network security defense strategy model is proposed by analyzing the security situation of complex computer network. According to the network security impact parameters, eight security elements and classification standard are obtained. At the same time, the dynamic classification algorithm based on fuzzy theory is also presented. The experimental analysis results show that the proposed model and algorithm are feasible and effective. The model is a good way to solve a safety problem that the static defense cannot cope with tactics and lack of dynamic change.

  • Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) are introduced as complex, interconnected systems that combine physical components with computational elements and networking capabilities. They bridge the gap between the physical world and the digital world, enabling the monitoring and control of physical processes through embedded computing systems and networked communication. These systems introduce several security challenges. These challenges, if not addressed, can lead to vulnerabilities that may result in substantial losses. Therefore, it is crucial to thoroughly examine and address the security concerns associated with CPS to guarantee the safe and reliable operation of these systems. To handle these security concerns, different existing security requirements methods are considered but they were unable to produce required results because they were originally developed for software systems not for CPS and they are obsolete methods for CPS. In this paper, a Security Requirements Engineering Methodology for CPS (CPS-SREM) is proposed. A comparison of state-of-the-art methods (UMLSec, CLASP, SQUARE, SREP) and the proposed method is done and it has demonstrated that the proposed method performs better than existing SRE methods and enabling experts to uncover a broader spectrum of security requirements specific to CPS. Conclusion: The proposed method is also validated using a case study of the healthcare system and the results are promising. The proposed model will provide substantial advantages to both practitioners and researcher, assisting them in identifying the security requirements for CPS in Industry 4.0.

  • While the social activities using Internet become generalized, the side effect of the information security violation is increasing steadily and threaten the countries which is not ready to prevent from offensive penetration such as the Information-fighter or Cyber-military. In this paper, we define the concept and characteristics of the modern Information-Warfare and analyze various kinds of threatened elements and also examine the recent trend in other countries. And introducing Computer Forensics raised recently for the confrontation against the security violation in the future, we will show the developing strategies and the necessity in order to response cyber attacks. These developing strategies can be used to ensure and re-trace the technical evidence for the security violation and to achieve the disaster relief effectively. So we hope that can apply them to the actual preparation through developing cyber trial test of the defense and attack for the Information-Warfare.

  • In this paper, we identify and evaluate the information security factors considered in outsourcing development of information systems for defense agency with analytic hierarchy process(AHP). To assess the information security elements, we prepared three groups including the experts of a defense agency, subcontractor managers and subcontractor practitioners who are involved in developing information systems. And the relative importance of security factors were analyzed using questionnaires and responses. As a result of analysis of 27 security factors, factors corresponding to human and physical security as a whole were evaluated as having higher importance. Although there are some differences in the ranking of some importance according to human roles, they can be positive for the implementation of complementary information security. And administrative security and technical security can be relatively insignificant considering that they can be considered as infrastructure of the overall information environment. The result of this paper will be helpful to recognize the difference of perception of information security factors among the persons in the organization where collaboration is activated and to prepare countermeasures against them.

  • As various IT and OT systems such as Electronic Chart Display and Information System and Automatic Identification System are used for ships, security elements that take into account even the ship's construction and navigation environment are required. However, cyber security research on the ship and shipbuilding ICT equipment industries is still lacking, and there is a lack of systematic methodologies through threat modeling. In this paper, the Data Flow Diagram was established in consideration of stakeholders approaching the ship system. Based on the Attack Library, which collects the security vulnerabilities and cases of ship systems, STRIDE methodologies and threat modeling using the Attack Tree are designed to identify possible threats from ships and to present ship cyber security measures.

  • This study proposes a risk analysis methodology for information system security management in which the complexity on the procedure that the existing risk analysis methodology is reduced to the least. The proposed risk analysis methodology is composed of 3 phases as follows: beforehand processing phase, counter measure setting phase, post processing phase. The basic risk analysis phase is a basic security management phase in which fixed items are checked when the information security system is not yet established or a means for the minimum security control is necessary for a short period of time. In the detailed risk analysis phase, elements of asset a vulnerability, and threat are analysed, and using a risk degree production table produced from these elements, the risk degree is classified into 13 cases. In regard to the risk, the 13 types of risk degree will execute physical, administrative, and technical measures through ways such as accepting, rejecting, reducing, and transferring. Also, an evaluation on a remaining risk of information system is performed through a penetration test, and security policy set up and post management phase is to be carried out.

  • The policy of US DoD is moving towards implementation of Network Centric Warfare(NCW) concepts. NCW is commonly described as the integration and synchronization of four key interdependent elements such as command and control, sensor system, engagement systems and the network. Therefore the military policy of Korea military is needed to access and examine the policy of NCW communication environment and crypto communication, which is able to apply it. In this case study, We are reviewed the security framework of the concept of network centric warfare in the centering around the US. It is introduced the core technology in the network centric warfare, and it is reviewed the security framework such as, the requirements of security, the characteristics security of global information grid, joint tactical radion system, net centric enterprise services, transformational communication satellite, in the basis of core technology, and analysis the effect of crypto communication relay between command node and surbornate node in NCW environment. This report support the assistance, which is considered the elements of surrounding effects in the varied crypto communication research area of NCW.
