  • Closed-loop fiber-optic gyroscope with linear scale factor for a wide dynamic range is demonstrated using a gating process and two-harmonic phase modulation, of which the second harmonic is obtained by a frequency doubler. Also the effects of the second harmonic and duty cycle of gating signal on the linearity of scale factor are estimated theoretically and compared with the measured data. The experimental results show the best linearity of scale factor is about 0.5% within the rotation rate 90.deg./sec. The closed-loop fiber-optic gyroscope with gated two-harmonic phase modulation can be used in the application demanding less sensitive performance and modest scale factor linearity.

시간 지연을 갖는 2차 시스템 모델링 기법을 이용한 외란 관측기 설계 (Design of a Disturbance Observer Using a Second-Order System Plus Dead Time Modeling Technique)

  • This paper presents a method for designing a robust controller that alleviates disturbance effects and compensates performance degradation owing to the time-delay. Disturbance observer(DOB) approach as a tool of robust control has been widely employed in industry. However, since the Pade approximation of time-delay makes the plant non-minimum phase, the classical DOB cannot be applied directly to the system with time-delay. By using a new DOB structure for non-minimum phase systems together with the Smith Predictor, we propose a new controller for reducing the both effects of disturbance and time-delay. Moreover, the closed-loop system can be made robust against uncertain time-delay with the help of a Pill controller tuning method that is based on a second-order plus dead time modeling technique.

  • Fabrication of $Fe_3AlC$ matrix in-situ composite, reinforced by a FeAl phase, was studied by using the powder metallurgical processing route. Especially, in order to disperse the second phase more finely, we chose the mechanical alloying process. We investigated the microstructural and mechanical properties of the consolidated material. After consolidation by vacuum hot pressing, the compact showed almost full density and consisted of a $Fe_3AlC$ matrix and FeAl second phase (average particle size was less than 1m). The compact showed HV746, which was higher than that of the arc melted $Fe_3AlC$ monolithic material, HV603.

열간정수압소결(HIP)시킨 Y-Ba-Cu-O 초전도체의 조직과 특성 (Microstructure and Prooperties of Y-Ba-Cu-O Superconductor Fabricated by Hot Isostatic Pressing)

  • YBa2Cu3O7-x oxide superconductors were fabricated by sintering and hotisostatic pressing (HIP), and their microstructures and properties were compared with each other. Thougha part of the second phase was observed along grain boundaries, their structures were consisted of single (123) phase and they had many porosities. But, porosities were remakably reduced by Hiping and the densification was brought about. The structure of (123) compound also showed a number of twins, which are typical of high Tc superconductors. The on-set temperature of YBa2Cu3O7-x compound sintered at 96$0^{\circ}C$ in oxygen and hipped at 88$0^{\circ}C$ was highest, but that shwoed 0 resistance at 87$^{\circ}$K, which is a little lower than the compound sintered at 96$0^{\circ}C$. HIP treatment also increased the critical current density of as-sintered compound. However, its value was low, which may be ascribed to the many pores of starting-sintered compact and partially to the second phase along grain boundaries.

  • In this paper, we develope an algorithm to calculate field inhomogeneity in MR imaging using a dual fast spin echo pulse sequence. Because phase modulation time can be easily modified with this pulse sequence, high resolution image can be obtained and acquisition time can be reduced compared to gradient echo technique. In the case of phase wrapping in field map, phase corrected using image processing technique. We assume the field pattern to be second order polynomial and apply Pseudo-Inverse equation to calculate second order polynomial coefficients. These coefficients can be used for the shimming of the magnetic field.

$Li_2$$(Ai, Cr)_3$/Ti기 2상 금속간화합물의 소성거동 (Plastic Behaviro of Two Phase Intermetallic Compounds Based on $Li_2$-type$(Ai, Cr)_3$/Ti)

  • 상온과 액체질소온도에서 압축시험을 통하여 $LI_{2}$단상함금 및 $LI_{2}$상에 제 2상을 수 %또는 20%정도 포함하는 합금조성을 선택하였다. 일반적으로 제 2상을 20%정도 포함하는 2상합금들은 $Ll_{2}$단상합금에 비해 항복강도는 높으나 연성은 좋지 않았다. 그러나 $Cr_{2}AI$을 제 2상으로하는 20%정도 포함하는 Al-21Ti-23Cr합금은 다른 합금들에 비해 비교적 높은 항복강도와 함계 우수한 연성을 나타내었다. 또한 $Li_{2}$단상합금 및 $Cr_{2}Al$을 수% 포함하는 2상합금에 대한 소성거동도 조사하였다. 균질화처리 후에 제 2상의 양은 줄었으나 pore의 양은 증가하였다. 균질화처리 후에 $Ll_{2}$단상조직에서 나타나는 pore의 양은 Cr의양이 증가할수록 줄어들었으며, Cr 의 양이 더욱 증가하여 $Cr_{2}$Al이 제2상으로 생성될 때는 pore가 완전히 소멸하였다. 변형속도를 $1.2 \times 10^{-4}/s$$1.2 \times 10^{-2}/s$의 두가지 조건으로 변화시키면서 압축시험을 행하여 합금의 연성에 미치는 환경취성의 영향을 조사하였다. $LI_{2}$단상합금인 AI-25Ti-10Cr합금이 환경취성의 영향을 가장 적게 받는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 pore의 생성, 환경취성, ingot 주조조직 등을 종합평가해 보면 $Cu_{2}Al$을 제 2상으로 20%정도 포함하는 Ak-21Ti-23Cr합금이 가장 우수한 인장연싱율을 나타낼 것으로 기대된다.

신도시 공동주택 부대복리시설의 배치특성에 관한 연구 - 제 2기 신도시 아파트를 중심으로 - (A Study on Layout Characteristics of Subsidiary Welfare Facilities at Apartment Complexes in New Towns - Focused on Apartment Complexes in Second Phase New Towns -)

  • Subsidiary welfare facilities in an apartment complex are one of the most important factors for consumers when they buy an apartment due to an increase of consumers' consciousness level, increase of leisure time, and increase of cultural life. This study aims to analyze layout types and characteristics of subsidiary welfare facilities at the apartment complexes in the second phase new towns, investigate the current situation and find out the improvement direction. For this purpose, this author investigated three "second phase new towns" which were designated as a new town at similar time, and selected a total of 15 apartment complexes by selecting 5 complexes in each of the three new towns. Literature survey, case visit, photo shoot, user observation survey were used as study methods. The results of the study are as follows. First, it was found that a mixed type was the most common type of plane layout types in the subsidiary welfare facilities. This type improves accessibility and equity of the residents as the facilities are appropriately placed based on the functions and the user characteristics. Second, it can be considered that a distributed type for senior citizen centers and daycare centers may give independence to specific users, but it may give a sense of alienation to the elderly. Moreover, it does not have enough community so that it is necessary to make proper supplementation. Third, there were two lay out types. The first one is that the subsidiary welfare facilities are placed with step difference and the second one is that they are placed in sunken places using the underground space. Fourth, all layout types of outdoor facilities are distributed types, and it is considered that measurements for a proper balance of accessibility and equity are required.

협대역 변이영역을 갖는 2차원 영위상 IIR 디지털 필터의 설계 (A Design of 2-D Zero-Phase IIR Digital Filter with Narrow Transition Band)

  • In this paper, we are proposed a 2-D zero-phase IIR second-order filter which have separable denominators. The filter combines the advantages of the separable denominator and the simplicity of the McClellan transform. Generally, the McClellan transformation is not suitable for IIR filter because the 1-D to 2-D substibution can not be achieved easily in most of denominators. So we have designed the second order denominator using a separable condition via a first order McClellan transformation. The implementation of a higher order filter can be achieved by cascading such second order parts with different coefficients in denominator. As a result, we have suppressed the ripples in stopband and obtained the narrow transition band.

Periodically Poled $KNbO_3$ Crystals for Quasi-Phase-Matching

  • Although it was suggested in 1962 that an efficient wavelength conversion could be achieved using ferroelectric crystals of periodic 180° domains, it was not until 1990's that quasi-phase-matching (QPM) became realized, as technology for periodic poling of LiNbO₃ crystals was readily available. Since ferroelectric domain inversion brings about change of the sign of second-order nonlinear susceptibility, periodically poled ferroelectric structures provide an ideal way of achieving QPM for second-harmonic generation and optical parametric oscillation. Periodically poled ferroelectric domains can also be utilized for optical devices, such as Brags electrooptic modulators. fabrication of stable periodic domain structures depends on a number of poling parameters of a ferroelectric crystal, such as coercive field, internal field and electrical conductivity. We present poling kinetics of KNbO₃ crystals, which involve domain nucleation and growth, backswitching, relaxation of internal field. Optimum poling conditions were established by designing a proper wave shape of external field. We demonstrate an efficient second-harmonic generation using QPM in a periodically poled KNbO₃ crystal.

3상 PWM 컨버터의 모델링 및 해석 (Modeling and Analysis of Three Phase PWM Converter)

  • Three phase full bridge rectifier has been used to obtain dc voltage from three phase ac voltage source. The rectifier system has drawbacks that power factor is low and power flow is unidirectional. Therefore, when dc voltage increases due to regeneration of power the dynamic resister for dissipation of regeneration power must be installed. But three phase PWM converter can be controlled to operate with unity power factor and bidirectional power flow. Therefore when the PWM converter is used as do supply system, the dissipating resistor is not necessary. On this thesis, in order to design a controller having good performance, the hee phase PWM converter is completely modeled by using circuit DQ-transformation and thus a general and simple instructive equivalent circuit is obtained; the inductor set becomes a second order gyrator-coupled system and three phase inverter becomes a transformer as well. Under given phase angle(${\alpha}$) and modulation index(MI) of the three phase inverter, the dc and ac characteristics are obtained by analysis of the transformed equivalent circuit The validity of the equivalent circuit is confirmed through PSPICE simulation. And based on the dc and ac characteristics a controller with unity power factor is proposed.
