  • In this paper, a VCHO(Voltage Controlled Harmonic Oscillator) for K-band application has been designed and implemented. The proposed oscillator has a structure of two hair-pin resonators placed on input and output of active device. Using in/out common frequency tuning structure, the VCHO yields some advantages of the enhanced fundamental frequency suppression characteristic as well as the improved output power of second harmonic. According to implementation and measurement results, it was shown that a VCHO provides an output power of -2.41 dBm, a fundamental frequency suppression of -21.84 dBc, and phase noise of -101.44 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset. In addition, as for the bias voltage from 0 V to -10 V for the varactor diode, output frequency range of 10.58 MHz is obtained with a power variation of ${\pm}0.19\;dB$ over its frequency range.

  • In this papers, a PLDRO(Phase Locked Dielectric Resonator Oscillator) is designed and implemented at the oscillator in which fundamental frequency is 18.3 GHz. The proposed PLDRO so as to improve the PLDRO of the general structure is designed to the goal of the minimize of the size and the performance improvement. Three VCO(Voltage controlled Oscillator) and the power combiner improved the output power. A VCDRO(Voltage Controlled Dielectric Resonator Oscillator) is manufactured using a varactor diode to tune oscillating frequency electrically, and its phase is locked to reference frequency by SPD(Sampling Phase Detector). This product is fabricated on Teflon substrate with dielectric constant 2.2 and device is ATF -13786 of Ka-band using. This PLDRO generates an output power of 5.67 dBm at 18.3 GHz and has the characteristics of a phase noise of -80.10 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz offset frequency from carrier, the second harmonic suppression of -33 dBc. The proposed PLDRO can be used in Ka-band satellite applications

  • The various output characteristics of a pulsed Ti:sapphire laser oscillator with a plane-parallel resonator, pumped longitudinally by the second harmonic wave of a Nd:YAG laser, and the output of a Ti:sapphire laser amplifier operated along the single path of the oscillator beam were investigated and analyzed. In the case of the oscillator, we measured the spectrum, the pulse buildup time, the temporal duration time of the pulse, and the output energy according to the variation of the pumping energy, resonator length, and the reflectance of the output coupler. And, in the case of the amplifier, we investigated and analyzed the output energy of the amplifier as a function of the time difference between the two pump beams of the oscillator and the amplifier, the pumping energy of the oscillator, and the pumping energy of the amplifier When pump energies of both the oscillator and the amplifier were 18 mJ/pulse, we could find that the output energy of the amplifier increased linearly and gradually up to the time difference of 35 ns. Finally, we determined that the slope efficiencies of the oscillator and the amplifier were 23.5 % and 11.6 %, respectively.

  • In this paper, we reported on a high performance waveguide VCO(voltage controlled oscillator) for FMCW applications. The waveguide VCO consists of a GaAs Gunn diode, a varactor diode, and two bias posts with low pass filter(LPF). The cavity is designed for fundamental mode at 47 GHz and operated at second harmonic of 94 GHz center frequency. The developed waveguide VCO has 1.095 GHz bandwidth, 590 MHz linearity with 1.69% and output power from 14.86 to 15.93 dBm. The phase noise is under -95 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset.

  • In the thesis, For improving the Stability of VCHRO(Voltage Controlled Hair-pin Resonator Oscillator) the new structure using the parallel feedback of the second harmonic is proposed for self-phase locking effect. This module is composed of wilkinson divider, frequency doubler, directional coupler, and bandpass filter using a hair-pin resonator, which are integrated into miniaturized hybrid circuit. The module exhibits output power of 2.5 dBm at 19.5 GHz, -29.83 dBc fundamental frequency suppression and -76.52 dBc/Hz phase noise at 10 kHz offset frequency from carrier of center frequency 19.5 GHz.

  • In this paper, we applied the CMRC to a resonator to improve the harmonic characteristic of VCO. The CMRC filters have some advantage. It is a small size as well as easy to manufacture than PBG, DGS and other filters. This paper was proposed by using CMRC for a VCO. The second harmonic of -42.83 dBc and the phase noise at 100 kHz offset of -95.83 dBc/Hz was achieved, respectively. The VCO has better second harmonic character by 15.73 dB and phase noise by 31.13 dB in case of CMRC applied behind a resonator than CMRC used as a resonator.

  • In this paper, we make a design study for a local oscillator system of the 100 ㎓ band cosmic radio receiving system. We use the YIG oscillator with digital driver which is the main oscillator. This oscillator has a good frequency and phase stability at some temperature variation, and the easy computer aided control characteristics. This total system designed to two subsystem, first is the oscillator system include YIG oscillator, tripler, harmonic mixer and triplexer etc., second is the PLL system to supply the precise and stable local oscillator frequency to mixer. The proposed local oscillator system in this paper can be used in a single or multi pixel receiver because this system can be lock the local oscillator frequency automatically using PC.

  • In this paper, we report highly efficient second harmonic generation of continuous-wave Yb fiber lasers incorporating a periodically poled LiTaO3 device (MgO:PPSLT) as a frequency converter. The seed laser output from a Yb fiber master oscillator using a Fabry-Perot feedback cavity was amplified in a Yb fiber amplifier stage, yielding 28.5 W of linearly polarized output at 1064 nm in a beam with beam quality, M2, of ~1.07. Second harmonic generation was achieved by passing the laser beam through MgO:PPSLT. Under optimized conditions, we obtained 11.1 W of green laser output at 532 nm for an incident signal power of 25.0 W at 1064 nm, corresponding to a conversion efficiency of 44.4%. The detailed investigation to find the optimized operating conditions and prospects for further improvement are discussed.

  • We had experimental studies of microwave output generator. We experimented with a corrugate-shped K-band slow wave guide in the backward wave oscillator. It generated output 표 interaction between electron beam's generation and magnetic field. We estimated oscillation frequency at 24GHz by changing propagation velocity and group velocity. We identified movement by second harmonic of Cherencov interaction and slow cyclotron mode. In our study we achieved oscillation stabilization, generation of long pulse, improvement of oscillation efficiency and output.
