웹 상의 HTML 문서들은 수시로 변경되고 있으며, 정보를 검색하는 웹사이트 또한 예외는 아니다. 다수의 웹 검색엔진들의 결과를 통합하는 메타 검색엔진은 각 검색엔진의 정보 변경에 민감해야 된다. 본 논문은, 수시로 변경되는 검색엔진들의 HTML 문서 정보를 메타 검색 엔진에 반영하기 위해, 자동적으로 검색엔진들의 질의 형태 변경과 검색 엔진의 검색 결과 HTML 문서의 구조 변경 탐지는 질의 결과가 반복되는 HTML 태그(tags) 문서 구조를 패턴(pattern)으로 이용한다. 패턴 발견 알고리즘은 문자열에서 규칙적으로 발생하는 패턴을 찾아내는 Jaak Vilo 알고리즘을 기반으로 HTML 문서를 처리할 수 있도록 확장하였다. 발견된 HTML 문서 패턴과 기존의 검색 엔진 HTML 페이지의 구조적 패턴 정보를 비교하여 문서 구조 변경을 탐지한다.

This paper starts by exploring the definition and scope of digital culture contents under digital environments. It then analyzes the classification system of search engines about digital culture contents in terms of subject catagories and the number of web documents. Finally, this study suggests the recommendations for effective retreival and management of digital culture contents.

Information Technology is becoming ubiquitous. Our lifestyle is changing due to this digital revolution. Many researchers had been working on exploring the meaning and ways to realize the comfortability in physical sites. With the appearance of huge amount of Web sites, which provide a variety of services like electronic commerce, network game, search engines and so on, there are many researchers working on the definition of Web Usability. In this research, we go one step forward, by exploring the meaning of Web Comfortability, based on Kansei Engineering methods.

This paper is about implementation issues for use of the Internet technology in education. An examination of the current status of virtual university provides guidance for subsequent prototype development. A virtual university is the Internet based process by which students increase their specific knowledge and skills via electronic interaction with content and people. Virtual university enables colleges and universities to provide students and faculty with network access to courseware and educational materials on multimedia servers free from time and geography constraints. In this paper, we present a prototype instruction support system (ISS). The ISS consists of the following components in architecture: Internet, software, hardware, database systems, users, and workflow. The ISS also assists several functions as follows: lecture notes, register processes, attendance checks, built-in boards, grading systems, questions and answers, electronic libraries, chats, and search engines. Our work will provide a guideline for the development of a virtual classroom for distance education and learning.

With the advent of internet, the modern society is enjoying the benefits of the information age. As one of undesirable side effects of utilization of internet, however, it is often mentioned that young students are helplessly exposed to inappropriate and unqualified information. Therefore, in this paper, we will clarify the nature of inappropriate information to the younger generation and will argue for the needs of protecting the youth from inappropriate information. Especially the merits and limits of often motioned five different protective and regulatory measures are presented and analyzed, those are, establishment of acceptable use policy, active utilization of supervisory organization, promotion of Internet rating system, installation of filtering software, and legal and regulatory protection. As a fundamental means of resolving the problems, however, enforcement of systematic information literacy education, promotion of active utilization of sound information, development of search engines for the youth, design of diverse filtering softwares which can be selected by users, and increased attention by parents and teachers are suggested.

The study examined information retrieval tools as predictors for information resources utilization, four research questions, and four hypotheses were made to guide the study. A descriptive survey was adopted for the study. Random sampling technique was used to select sample of 393 from a population of 557 academic staff registered in the University of Port Harcourt library. The questionnaire was adopted as a data collection instrument titled Information retrieval as predictors for information resources utilization (IRPIRUQ). Data were analyzed using both simple and multiple regression while analysis of variance (ANOVA) associate with regression was used for testing the hypotheses at 0.05 alpha level. The study revealed that information resources are under utilized as the OPAC and Online Databases are not easily accessed. Further findings showed that the academic staff made use of internet search engines more often than the OPAC and online databases. It was recommended among others that a new library software be installed in place of KOHA for wider connectivity and adequate distribution of software that will aid usage of the online databases and OPAC.

Objectives : To review the method, validity and reliability of Impedance Cardiography and to study its oriental medical application. Method : The papers reviewed in this study were searched through internet search engines such as Springer, Science Direct, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure. Conclusion : In this study, the methodological limitations, validity and reliability of impedance cardiography were examined. Impedance Cardiography is recognized as a highly accurate non-invasive tool to assess hemodynamic parameters. The ability of impedance cardiography to assess hemodynamic parameters in non-invasive way is very suitable for researches on the effect of oriental medical therapeutics or the validation of oriental medical diagnostic.

Objective : To review studies about acoustic analysis and to study its medical application. Method : We investigate the research results through internet search engines, such as Pubmed. Conclusions : I would like to conclude that there should be continued study, along with the objectification and quantification of diagnosis and application of acoustic analysis in the wide variety of oriental medicine.

The dynamic nature of the World Wide Web challenges Information Retrieval System to find information relevant and recent. Intelligent agents can complement the power of search engines to deal with this challenge. In this paper, we explain in manner of building Information Retrieval System based on intelligent agent technology. We present a tool called Websearcher. It was performed in Java environment. The object-oriented nature of Java and built-in facilities for multi-thread decreased our implementation effort. A modular software design makes it easy to configure the system for various experiments.

This paper describes an overview and research work related to web page segmentation. Over a period of time, various techniques have been used and proposed to extract meaningful information from web pages automatically. Due to voluminous amount of data this extraction demanded state of the art techniques that segment the web pages just like or close to humans. Motivation behind this is to facilitate applications that rely on the meaningful data acquired from multiple web pages. Information extraction, search engines, re-organized web display for small screen devices are few strong candidate areas where web page extraction has adequate potential and utility of usage.
