Design has become a buzzword in the marketing community these days and has been considered as an important success factor for business. Unfortunately, however, little research to date has been conducted on consumer responses to brand logo designs, which visualize brand identities. This article reports the findings from an experimental study which examined consumer evaluations of logo designs through conjoint analysis. The study explored potential factors which would give rise to the differences of consumer preferences. The results indicate that in the case of cognitive brand concepts, search goods show high elaborateness and low symmetry, experience goods show high associativeness, and credence goods show low elaborateness and high symmetry in the logo design characteristics. Affective brand concepts reveal different results in the logo design characteristics: search goods indicate high elaborateness and low associativeness, experience goods show low naturalness, and credence goods show low elaborateness and high associativeness. Implications of the results are discussed from a theoretical and practical standpoint.

The main concept of this study is on rational functions and convenience, the harmony of tradition and modernity. As said above, in the process of manufacture the mass production of goods is stressed, and by getting the composition and making a set of goods, the choice of consumers will be extended. Advance of the Internet environment is applied not only to information search but also to the area of consumption behavior. Current research analyzes online use behavior and online information search of consumers in terms of users' perception. With the result of the research, it is noticed that promotion focus brings broader variation of information use behavior, and utilitarian value has a beneficial impact on the online exploratory information search. In addition, it is revealed that the more exploratory the information search is, the wider the range of online shopping information search is. Finally, people who have utilitarian shopping value showed more exploratory behavior in online search, especially for the search of informational products, than those who have hedonic shopping value. Present research is believed to improve practical influence of consumers' personality on online use behavior when customers purchase search products online. As a result, it would contribute to consumer research and marketing held online.
Purpose: The distribution of goods and the flow of information, determined by consumer behavior toward online shopping, is drastically popular worldwide. This study examines some factors such as brand trust, online sales promotion, consumer personality, delivery service, quality assurance, information search, and online consumer satisfaction influence online shopping behavior. Research design, data, and methodology: A constructed questionnaire in an online survey was conducted with 241 random cluster respondents in the greater Jakarta Area. Structure equation model was utilized to analyze and verify all the data. Results: Research finding indicates online sales promotion, delivery service, quality assurance, and online consumer satisfaction positively influence information search. Meanwhile, brand trust, quality assurance, and information search positively influence online shopping behavior. However, the result illustrates that consumer personality negatively influences both information search and online shopping behavior. Conclusions: To influence online shopping behavior, the most important factors that need to be considered by marketplaces are quality assurance. It positively motivates Indonesia's citizens to collect information and make unplanned purchases. The study finding can be a reference for brands to maintain and build outstanding product quality, an informational website, and an excellent marketing strategy so that customers can meet their expectations. Besides, it also broadens both companies' and individuals' knowledge about the digital revolution on consumer behavior.
As merging online and offline channels into one single platform, individuals could easily and frequently switch between online and offline channels. In order for understanding such unique behaviors, this study attempts to explore why and how consumers choose their channels to search and purchase a product. We have drawn on multiple theories that have been used to explain individuals' judgment and decision making (i.e., construal level theory and regula-tory focus theory) in order to develop and tested two-way ANOVA based models of how both regulatory focus (e.g., promotion vs. prevention) and product types (e.g., experience goods vs. searching goods) including the psychological distance cue separately and jointly affect individuals' channel selection behavior (e.g., intention to use single channel vs. intention to use cross-channels). Our results have indicated that consumers with promotion-focus are more likely to use a single channel in experience goods rather than in searching goods when there exists the psychological cue. Based on our findings, the implication for both research and practice are discussed.
The purpose of this study is to examine the factors affecting the consumer's search for information and the relationship between the amount of search and the final price paid. The model indicates the demand for search is affected by the market price of each durable good purchased, the tim available for search, family income, direct cost of search, the initial stock of information, effectiveness of search, and shopping attitudes. The final price savings are a function of search, price of dispersion in the market, the initial stock of information, and effectiveness of search. Data from the Pane Study on Consumer Decisions and Asset Management were used for the empirical testing of the theoretical model. The amount of information search as dependent variable is represented by two different measures, the level of discussion with others and the number of stores visited. The amount of discussion with others depends mainly on the respondent's shopping attitude. The higher the wife's desire to search, the higher the degree of husband's comparison shopping, the less the husband's perception of price-quality relationship, the higher the level of discussions with others. The number of stores visited depends on the average market price of product purchased and the level of family income. The higher the average market price and he higher the level of family income, the greater the number of stores visited. The final savings depend upon the level of information search. The greater the number of store visited, but the less the purchase is discussed with stores, the higher the final savings are.

The results of depth interviews may be classified into 13 feelings factors satisfaction, pleasure/delight, respect, attraction, fresh, convenience, unburdened, emptiness, displeasure/temper, anxiety, tedious, distrust, regret. The content of information acquiring from the process of clothing purchase decision making is analysed. In the problem recognition stage, purchase motivation were physical space (around people) and imaginary space(by how clothing goods are introduced to consumers thorough TV monitor). In the information search stage, purchasing action patterns to search information were situational pattern and habitual pattern. In alternative evaluation stage, the considering best important factors to choice clothes were quality, price, design, and color. In purchase stage, consumers said they felt anxiety, because of characteristics of purchase way that they should pay first and then received the ordered goods a fews days later. In post-purchase behavior stage, if consumers satisfied goods purchased through TV home shopping, they recommended it to around others, but unsatisfied with ordered goods, they tried to refund, exchange with anther one, or write it on homepage of the home shopping company.
This study aims to prove the connection between satisfaction and re-visit intention of customers by examining shopping value and store image depending on product types purchased at Internet shopping malls. The finding of this study revealed that shopping value could be classified into hedonic and utilitarian value, while store image could be extracted into six dimensions such as reputation, product and information service, customer service after purchase, atmosphere, convenience, and safety. Both search goods and experience goods among store image factors were found to have stronger effect on utilitarian shopping value than hedonic shopping one. In addition, it was found that store image and shopping value had an effect on customer satisfaction and re-visit intention depending on product types, with a significant difference. These findings are expected to provide marketing complications for the understanding of differentiated market segments in the Internet shopping mall market, which is facing ever-growing market.
This study aimed to measure consumer information competency, which indicates consumers' general ability to search and utilize information. The model of this study was constructed in order to identify how consumer information competency influences the efficiency and the effectiveness of external information search. The model was verified with related prior knowledge as a moderator variable in order to understand holistic consumer information search activity. The result of the study is as follows. First, the concept of consumer information competency was constructed with four sub-abilities: define, search, extract, and synthesis & use. The ability of define was the highest, as opposed to the ability of extract, which was the lowest. Second, consumer information competency was lower for women as well as for low family income. The sub-abilities of search and synthesis & use were lower for aging consumers. Third, consumer information competency has positive effects on information search efficiency and effectiveness. Moreover, the efficiency influences the effectiveness positively. Fourth, prior knowledge moderates the effect of consumer information competency to the efficiency. Only for consumers with high knowledge the efficiency has the effect of mediating between consumer information competency and the effectiveness.
