The position detection of overlapping area in the interframe for image stitching using auto and cross correlation function (ACCF) and compounding one image with the stitching algorithm is presented in this paper. ACCF is used by autocorrelation to the featured area to extract the filter mask in the reference (previous) image and the comparing (current) image is used by crosscorrelation. The stitching is detected by the position of high correlation, and aligns and stitches the image in shifting the current image based on the moving vector. The ACCF technique results in a few computations and simplicity because the filter mask is given by the featuring block, and the position is enabled to detect a bit movement. Input image captured from CMOS is used to be compared with the performance between the ACCF and the window correlation. The results of ACCF show that there is no seam and distortion at the joint parts in the stitched image, and the detection performance of the moving vector is improved to 12% in comparison with the window correlation method.
Robot systems are widely utilized in the shipbuilding industry to enhance the productivity by automating the welding process. In order to increase productivity, it is necessary to reduce the time used for robot teaching. In this work, the automatic teaching system is developed for the subassembly process in the shipbuilding industry. A alser/vision sensor is designed to detect the weld seam and the image of the fillet joint is processed using the arm method. Positions of weld seams defined in the CAD database are transformed into the robot coordinate, and the dynamic programming technique is applied to find the sub-optimum weld path. Experiments are carried out to verify the system performance. The results show that the proposed automatic teaching system performs successfully and can be applied to the robot system in the subassembly process.
Friction welding technique was studied to weld the turbine wheel and shaft of a turbocharger. The welding parameters were selected to investigate the effects of variables on welding quality of Inconel 713C and SCM 440. Experimental results showed that the turbine wheel and shaft could be successfully welded by friction welding. The heat affected zone was identified to be 2 mm from the weld seam. After welding, the hardness profile was found to have sudden increase and decrease for inconel 713C and SCM 440 respectively. Tensile strength of welded specimens was higher than the required strength for all of the studied welding parameters. The central portion of fracture surfaces by bending had no defects such as crack.
Physics-based graphic techniques are used when simulating and rendering natural phenomena such as smoke, water and flame with computational physics. We propose novel methods which render simulated particle data fast onto 3D using tetrahedron splat. We calculate the position and the normal vector of splat by SPH(smoothed particle hydrodynamics) method then we reconstruct splat into quadrangular pyramid to reduce seam. We implement this technique for SPH fluid simulation, and animate natural flow of water successfully.
When a workpiece is to be arc welded around the outside corner, continuous welding without welding seam in the neighborhood of comer still remains a very difficult technique. Skilled welders weld comers by delicate“hand-eye coordination”while turning the workpiece manually, However, there is not a very clear solution to this problem in robotized arc welding process. In order to solve this problem, the coordination of a robot and a positioner with one or two axes is necessary. This paper presents a method of continuous welding around the corner of workpiece using the coordinated motion of a robot and a positioner. The positioner is either revolute jointed or prismatic jointed. In this paper, a clothoid curve is chosen for welding trajectory. The clothoid curve is excellent in connecting straight and curved weld-lines with good continuity and accommodates various welding conditions. By using this welding trajectory, the deceleration, which leads to widening of the melt and the heat affected zone, at comer area is reduced with strategic rotation of robot torch in coordination with a positioner providing smooth transition of welding torch orientation. Two types of special clothoid curves are developed for different weld slope conditions. These clothoid curves are applied to the case of linear and rotary Positioners at arc welding robot work-cell.

As people have gained leisure time and become more interested in sports, various industries catering to these sports, including aquatic and underwater activities are growing. Many people are getting into scuba diving, where people can explore the sea at depths of more than 40-meters. Despite the increasing demand, there are limited studies on the sport. This study aims to provide basic research on materials suitable for developing technical scuba diving suits by analyzing several areas, such as design, material, sewing patterns, etc. The following trends were observed in all wetsuits: closure designs, ergonomic patterns, practical and functional details. Neoprene was the primary material of diving suits, and various functional materials were attached to the outer fabric or lining. The seam technique which minimized water contact and improved durability was sewing. Various techniques were also applied, such as flatlock stitching, GBS, LFS, etc. Subsequent studies shall investigate consumer preference etc. and other aspects, and continue to allow for the research and development of technical diving suits.
High-resolution satellite image mosaics are becoming increasingly important in the field of remote sensing image analysis as an essential image processing to create a large image constructed from several smaller images. In this paper, we present an automatic seamline extraction technique and the procedure to generate a mosaic image by this technique. For more effective seamline extraction in the overlap region of adjacent images, an NDVI-based seamline extraction technique is developed, which takes advantage of the computational time and memory. The Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI) is an index of plant "greeness" or photosynthetic activity that is employed to extract the initial seamline. The NDVI can divide into manmade region and natural region. The cost image is obtained by the canny edge detector and the buffering technique is used to extract the ranging cost image. The seamline is extracted by applying the Dijkstra algorithm to a cost image generated through the labeling process of the extracted edge information. Histogram matching is also conducted to alleviate radiometric distortion between adjacent images acquired at different time. In the experimental results using the KOMPSAT-2/3 satellite imagery, it is confirmed that the proposed method greatly reduces the visual discontinuity caused by geometric difference of adjacent images and the computation time.
The use of pure titanium and titanium alloys have been increased recently in fixed, removable prosthodontics and implant fields as a framework. But when they were used for superstructures of implant or metal framework of removable prosthesis, welding is necessary to reconnect the fracture site to control the casting distortions. To overcome the difficulties in soldering the titanium due to high oxidation property, much effort have been devoted. In this study, some of mechanical properties were compared between pure titanium and Ti-6Al-4V alloy by using after welding, electron beam welding technique and tungsten arc welding. Mechanical properties such as tensile strength, yield strength, elongation and microhardness were measured. And, in order to compare the effect of welding site and surrounding metal tissue according to the welding condition, SEM photographs were taken and element distribution was observed by Wave Dispersion Spectroscopy. Through analyses of the data, following results were obtained; 1. In items such as tensile strength, yield strength and elongation according to the welding techniques of pure titanium, only tungsten arc welded group showed significant lower value than other groups(P<0.05). 2. In items such as tensile strength and yield strength according to the welding techniques of Ti-6Al-4V alloy, control group and tungsten arc welded group showed significant difference among all the groups(P<0.05). 3. Ti-6Al-4V alloy exhibited significantly greater elongation than control group when the laser welding method and electron beam welding method were used, and elongation showed increasing tendency. 4. Pure titanium specimens exhibited increasing tendency of microhardness regardless of the weld-ing technique applied, and especially tungsten arc welded group demonstrated a great increase of microhardness than parent metal. 5. There was no hardness change in laser welded group and electron beam welded group of Ti-6Al-4V alloy, but in tungsten arc welded group, hardness changed greatly from parent metal to weld seam. 6. Through the metallographic examination and scanning electron microscopy, laser welding caused central fusion and recristallizations were formed and tungsten arc welding caused localized fusion to 0.3-0.7mm from the surface.

This study aims to investigate and analyze sewing methods according to the shape of the inner collar among women's jeogories in order to understand such sewing techniques, which has emerged during modern Korea, and has utilized diversly for the shape of the jeogori's inner collar and as part of the inner collar. The study was conducted on relics possessed between 1900 to 1990, or 515 pieces of jeogories. Jeogories were classified into single-layered and double-layered jeogories according to the shape of their composition. Inner collar shapes of jeogories have also been categorized. It was found that single-layered jeogories comprise 49 inner collars with shapes identical to those of the outer collars. Double-layered jeogories comprise of the following three types: 43 pieces of godae close, 18 pieces in which the inner collar of the outer bodice are cut without a connecting line and the inner collar of the godae and inner bodice are suspended, and 405 pieces in which the share of the inner collar is identical to that of the outer collar. From the shapes of inner collars mentioned above, the following sewing methods have been derived: 1. To sew the inner collar of single-layered jeogories, a seaming technique had been used. 2. Among the inner collars of a double-layered jeogori, godae close was sewn with only a short part of the godae by using a lining, and then finished with overage and blind stitches. Godae close was a covenient way to attach inner collars, and also saved much time. 3. Inner collars with shapes identical to the outer collar are divided into two groups: those with outer collars cut out fellowing the cloth without seam and shifted towards the linings and used as an inner collar, and those with outer collars made of outer linings and inner collar of inner linings. To sew the collar, paste and needlework had been employed, where the methods of needlework were divided into blind stitch, overage stitch, and catch stitch. In sewing with paste, only godae was blind stitched or overage stitched, and the remainder had been painted with paste or the collar had been finished with heated soldering iron after the entire inner collar was painted with paste.
It's shown how to proceed the study on Manufacturing techniques & Conservation to the Iron Pot from Cheonmachong Ancient Tomb(the 155th Tomb in Hwangnam-dong). In order to investigate manufacturing techniques of the Iron Pot, some parts of the relic were gathered. After mounting, polishing and etching on the relic, analyzing the metal microstructure was conducted. Also it's conducted a SEM-EDS analysis on the nonmetallic inclusion. White iron structure was observed in the metallurgical structure inspection, SEM-EDS analysis. It seems to be dried slowly at room temperature after casting, doesn't look as particular heat treatment to improve brittleness. It is estimated that it's as the handle seam side were verified about 3cm inch wide, 1.5 thick in center of body, so 2 separate half-completed products was cast with width-type mould. The manufacturing techniques Using white cast iron structure, width-type mould are observable to the Iron Pot excavated from Sikrichong Ancient Tomb & Hwangnamdaechong grand Ancient Tomb around those were constructed the same time. It's able to recognize that it's almost identical manufacturing techniques at that time. Conservation is generically following those are survey of pretreatment, foreign material removal, stabilization, restoration and color matching in the order. cleaning & drying were added to the process as occasion demands. The strengthening treatment were difficult with artifact's volume, low concentration Paraloid NAD-10 solution was spread two or three times with a brush, surface hardening also came up with 15wt% Paraloid NAD-10 solution after the conservation was complete. There were connection & restoration for the restoration to the damage after modeling forms that it's similar to damaged parts by using the Fiber Reinforced Plastic resins(POLYCOAT FH-245, mold laminated type). Throughout this research, capitalizing on accumulations of measurements about the production technique of Iron Pot in the time of the fifth and 6th centuries is no less important than the Iron artifact's conservation for a better study in the future.
