나노 다이아몬드 분말 봉공처리 적용을 위한 정전류에서의 알루미늄 양극산화 제조 연구 (Study on Anodizing at Constant Current for Sealing Treatment of Nano-diamond Powder)

  • In this study, an aluminum oxide layer for sealing treatment of nano-diamond powder was synthesized by anodizing under constant current. The produced pore size and oxide thickness were investigated using scanning electron microscopy. The pore size increased as the treatment time increased, current density increased, sulfuric acid concentration decreased, which is different from the results under constant voltage, due to a dissolution of the oxide layers. The oxide layer thickness by the anodizing increased as temperature, time, and current density increased. The results of this study can be applied to optimize the sealing treatment process of nano-diamond particles of 4-10 nm to enhance the resistances of corrosion and wear of the matrix.

  • The paper describes the development of arrester for 154kV class power station and substation. The arrester employs silicone insulating materials for Its housing, instead of the conventional porcelain housing. The sealing integrity is related to safe operation of surge arrester, the prime failure reason of porcelain housed arresters is moisture ingress. In this paper, the sealing integrity of polymeric surge arresters for ultra high voltage is investigated with moisture ingress test. The diagnostic techniques are discusses, including watt loss, partial discharge, AC leakage current, 1mA DC voltage and residual voltage.

  • Hydroforming of a non-axisymmetric thin-walled tubular component with variable cross sections was analyzed. In order to solve the sealing problem which occurred due to the thin and non-axisymmetric shape, the use of a lead patch on the punch, which had been successful in hydroforming of thin tubes, was evaluated. A lead patch was attached to the punch to solve the sealing problem, which was caused by the stress gradient in the non-axisymmetric shape. FEM and experiments were also performed to analyze these sealing problems associated with the punch shape and non-axisymmetric shape. Finally, the lead patch was attached at tube surface where intensive local strain concentration would occur to enhance the hydroformability. These methods were successfully used to fabricate non-axisymmetric thin-walled tubular component with variable cross sections that had previously failed during traditional hydroforming.

Inconel 625 열용사 코팅 층의 고상입자 침식 거동 (Solid Particle Erosion Behavior of Inconel 625 Thermal Spray Coating Layers)

  • 본 연구는 손상된 선박용 절탄기 핀튜브에 대하여 보수를 목적으로 Inconel 625 아크 열용사 코팅기술 적용 후 실링처리를 실시하였다. 모재(Substrate), 열용사 코팅(Thermal Srpay Coating; TSC) 그리고 열용사 코팅+실링처리(TSC+Sealing) 시편에 대하여 내구성을 평가하기 위해 ASTM G76-05에 의거하여 고상입자 침식(Solid Particle Erosion; SPE) 실험을 실시하였다. 표면 손상 형상은 주사전자현미경과 3D 레이져 현미경을 통해 관찰했으며, 무게 감소량과 표면 거칠기 분석을 실시하여 내구성을 평가하였다. 그 결과 내구성은 TSC와 TSC+Sealing에 비해 Substrate가 우수하게 나타났으며, 이는 TSC 층 내에 존재하는 다수의 기공 결함에 기인한 것으로 판단된다. 또한 고상입자 침식 손상 메카니즘은 Substrate의 경우 연성 재질 특성인 소성변형과 피로에 의한 균열 생성이 동반되었으며, TSC와 TSC+Sealing의 경우 취성파괴 경향이 확인되었다.

  • Using sealant for window installation is sealing the gap between the window frame and outer wall (such as concrete). A sealant serves to prevent external environmental impacts such as moisture, rain, sand, and dust entering inside of the building and make the building durable. In order to fulfill basic jointing function of sealing, at least 6 mm joint gap between two bonding surfaces are required. Also, adhesion performance between sealant and surfaces and the compatibility with other building materials are required to check before installation. In general, 2 part polyurethane sealant and 1 part silicone sealant are most common materials for sealing the joint of window. In this study, adhesion performances of those two generic sealants reflecting actual application conditions and the compatibility evaluations with other building materials are conducted to propose proper window installation procedures.

V2O5-P2O5-ZnO-Sb2O3 Glass Frit Materials with BaO and Al2O3 for Large-sized Dye-sensitized Solar Cell Sealing

  • $V_2O_5-P_2O_5-ZnO-Sb_2O_3$ glasses modified with BaO and $Al_2O_3$ are synthesized as a sealing material for large-scale dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). A compositional study is performed in order to determine the glass that can be sintered below $500^{\circ}C$ with a high chemical stability against the electrolyte. The flow size of the glasses after the heat treatment and the glass stability are increased with the addition of $Al_2O_3$ and BaO, while the glass transition temperature is decreased. After the reaction with the electrolyte at $60^{\circ}C$ for 72 h, the addition of 5 mol% of BaO and 2 mol% of $Al_2O_3$ considerably enhances the chemical stability of the glass. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) are used to examine the reaction between the electrolyte and glasses. The structural contribution of the additives is also investigated and discussed.

폴리실라잔계 실란트를 이용한 정전척 실링특성 향상 연구 (Improvement of Sealing Property of Electrostatic Chuck by Applying Polysilazane Sealant)

  • We have analyzed chemical properties of polysiloxane and polysilazane films, respectively, as sealing materials for electrostatic chuck (ESC) and have investigated the possibility of polysilazane as an alternative sealant to polysiloxane. It has been revealed that Si-O with organic bonding ($Si-CH_3$) existed in polysiloxane films compared to only pure Si-O bonding in polysilazane films. The sealing property of polysilazane has been found outstanding even in a short time of application. In the polysiloxane films containing $H_2O$, pin holes have been found possibly due to $CO_2$ gas evolution, and low adhesion with Si substrate has been observed after heat stress test in connection with the existence of organic bonding. After acid resistance test in 0.5 vol.% HF, 68 wt.% $HNO_3$, and 37 wt.% HCl solution, polyilazane films have shown a longer survival times. Compared to the conventional polysiloxane sealant, polysilazane is expected as a new sealing material because of good thermal and chemical stability.

열-기계적 스트레스가 폴리머 피뢰기의 전기적 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Thermal Mechanical Stresses on Electrical Characteristics of Polymer Housed Surge Arresters)

  • This paper describes the results of a study on the sealing integrity of polymer housed surge arrester based on the thermal mechanical test. The polymer housed surge arrester employs silicone insulating materials for its housing, instead of the conventional porcelain housing. The polymer housed surge arresters exhibited the highest sealing integrity because it is not air volume between the FRP(fiber reinforced plastics) module and the silicone housing. In accordance, the sealing integrity of station class surge arresters is investigated with moisture ingress test. And, the influence of sealing integrity was evaluated through such as measurement of the deflection, reference voltage, leakage current. In electrical characteristics, reference voltage decreased in the range of $16.45{\sim}16.15\;kV$ with after thermal mechanical test. In contrary, despite the continued moisture ingress, the polymer housed surge arresters exhibited almost the same leakage current value and the resistive leakage current has risen slightly. As a results, It was thought that the polymer housed surge arresters shows good stability with sealing integrity.

필러 첨가에 의한 OLED의 레이저 실링용 P2O5-V2O5-ZnO 유리프릿의 제조 (Synthesis of P2O5-V2O5-ZnO Glass Frit for Laser Sealing of OLED by the Addition of Filler)

  • In this study, we developed a lead-free $P_2O_5-V_2O_5-ZnO$ glass frit for sealing OLED using laser irradiation. The frit satisfied the characteristics required for laser sealing such as low glass transition temperature, low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), high water-resistance, and high absorption at the wavelength of the laser beam. Ceramic fillers were added to the glass frit in order to further reduce and match its CTE with that of the commercial glass substrate. The addition of Zirconium Tungsten Phosphate (ZWP) to the frit yielded the most desirable results, reducing the CTE to $45.4{\times}10^{-7}/^{\circ}C$, which is very close to that of the glass substrate ($44.0{\times}10^{-7}/^{\circ}C$). Successful formation of a solid sealing layer was observed by optical and scanning electron microscopy.

선미관 밀봉장치 개발에 관한 연구 (I) - 맆 시일을 중심으로- (A Study on the Development of Ship's Stern Tube Sealing System(I) -Based on Lip Seals-)

  • Lip type stern tube sealing systems have used in almost all the middle or large ships which are being constructed in these days. It seems that the pressure fluctuation of the seal ring interspace, the cross-section profile and the materials quality of the seal rings have great effects on the sealing fuction of this sealing system. In this paper, the mechanical movement of lip seal ring which plays the most important role in stern tube sealing system and the possibility of leakage caused by pressure fluctuation are studied by theory and experiment. Using the finite element method for the axi-symetric object which receives the torsional load, the displacement and stress analysis of the seal rings, and also the possibility of crack occurance is checked by theoretical analysis. If the force which seal ring lip periphery receives is too small, there will be the possibility of leakage caused by the pressure fluctuation of the seal ring interspace, and if this force is too large, the frictional force between the seal ring and the liner will become problematical. The possibility of leakage caused by hardening of seal ring materials and creep phenomena of tested seal rings are also examined. The trial seal rings were designed and manufactured using the program of displacement and stress analysis developed in this study and the experimental apparatus to test the trial seal rings was also designed and manufactured. This trial seal rings were fitted in the experimental apparatus which was made in the same form as an actual stern tube. The one side of this apparatus was filled with sea water and the other side of it was filled with the lubricating oil. The leakage of oil and sea water was checked and the temperature was measured, rotating the propeller shaft at the constant velocity by D.C. motor. It was proved that the trial seal rings made in Viton rubber functioned excellenty but the trial seal rings made in N.B.R. rubber had problem in its durability.
