흑산도의 항공수요예측에 관한 정량적 연구 (A Quantitative Study on Air Transportation Demand Forecasting in Heuksando)

  • Heuksando is an island which belongs to Shinangun, Jeonllanamdo and is located on the southwest sea of the Korean peninsula. Around this island, there are many beautiful islands which embroider the archipelago such as Hongdo, Soheuksando, Haeuido, Gageodo. However in the transportation mode we could not offer convenience to all the visitors coming to this area because access to this place can be made only by ship from Mokpo harbor. So new airport is desirable to solve this problem in this area. Therefore, this study is forecasting air transportation demand between Heuksando and several domestic places in order to give the fundamental materials not only to address the appropriateness to construct a new airport but also to determine it's size and necessary facilities.

  • This paper describes recently developed PC based Aids to Navigation Training Simulator (AtoN-TS) using Virtual Reality Modeling language (VRML). The purpose of AtoN-TS is to train entry-level cadets to reduce the amount of sea-time training. The practical application procedure of VR technology to implement AtoN-TS is represented. The construction method of virtual waterway world, according to the guidelines of International Association of Lighthouse Authorities (IALA) is proposed. Design concepts and simulation experiments are also discussed. Results from trial tests and evaluations by subject assessment, provide practical insight on the importance of AtoN-TS.

  • Fuzzy-CBR Collision Avoidance Support System is a system that finds a solution from past knowledge retrieved from the database and adapted to a new situation. Its algorithm has resulted to an adapting a solution for a new situation. However, ontology is needed in identifying concepts, relations and instances that are involved in a situation in order to improve and facilitate the efficient retrieval of similar cases from the CBR database. This paper proposes the way to apply ontology for identifying the concepts involved in a new environment and use them as inputs, for a ship collision avoidance support system., Similarity will be obtained through document articulation and using abstraction levels. A conceptual model of a maneuvering situation will be built using these ontologies.

  • 본 연구는 도서지방에 식수를 안정적으로 공급하기 위하여 도서별 특성에 적합한 최적의 상수원 방안을 마련하는데 목적이 있다. 특히 도서지역은 지형적인 특정상 상수원 확보를 위한 저수지 건설의 적지가 드물고 이상 가뭄과 환경오염으로 물 부족 현상이 심화되고 있으므로 도서지방의 안정적인 식수 공급 방안 수립은 시급한 실정이다.

  • Nowadays, container transport services play a substantial role in global cargo transportation by serving as an intermodal between the exporter and importer. Container shipping has become increasingly important over the past few decades due to its obvious advantages. However, Vietnam's container market has shown severely ongoing competition among numerous domestic and foreign shipping lines resulting in serious consequences occurring such as the freight rates substantially decreasing within the last ten years. In fact, Vietnam's sea lanes have become more defensive to cover the losses of shipping companies. Selection of criteria for competitive evaluation of container transport companies is necessary to help recognize the problems within the enterprise especially relating to its position in the market and from here, business management are able to put strategic plans in place and reasonable policy in order to be able to survive and grow.

파쇄대를 통과하는 해저터널의 수리거동에 관한 연구 (Hydraulic behavior of a subsea tunnel in a ground with fractured-zones)

  • Subsea tunnels that link land to island and among nations for transportation, efficient development of limited surface and pursuit of economic development should be designed to support pore water pressure on the lining. It is generally constructed in the bed rock of the sea bottom. When the tunnel excavation face meets fractured-zones below sea bottom, collapse may occur due to an increase of pore water pressure and large inflow. Such an example can be found in the Norwegian subsea tunnel experiences in 1980's. In this study hydraulic behavior of tunnel heading is investigated using numerical method based on the collapse of Norwegian subsea tunnel. The effect of pore water pressure and inflow rate were mainly concerned. Horse-shoe shaped model tunnel which has 50 m depth from the sea bottom is considered. To evaluate hydraulic performance, parametric study was carried out for varying relative permeability. It is revealed that pore water pressure has increased with an increase of sea depth. Especially, at the fractured-zone, pore water pressure on the lining has increased significantly. Inflow rate into tunnel has also increased correspondingly with an increase in sea depth. S-shaped characteristic relation between relative permeability and normalized pore water pressure was obtained.

  • RIB(Rigid Inflatable Boat) is widely used for coastal transportation in the commercial use and for ISR(Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance) in the military use. Since RIB is around 10 meters in length and over 30 knots in speed, its motion characteristics in waves is quite different from a large scale ship. When it turns, large roll occurs and heeling direction is opposite to the large ship's case. Currently, many countries are developing USV(Unmanned Surface Vehicle) of which type is RIB. In order to develop high performance autopilot and way point controller, it is very important to identify RIB's motion characteristics. In this paper, sea trial test results of a 7-meter RIB such as speed, turning, zig-zag, and way point control tests were represented and its resistance and propulsion model was identified by using sea trial data and Savitsky's formula. In addition, the state space model which will be used in the identification of the four-degree-of-freedom dynamics in the next step was formulated and the identification procedure was proposed.

러시아의 크림반도 합병의 해양안보적 고찰 (A Maritime Security Review of Russia's Annexation of Crimea)

  • 본 연구는 러시아의 크림반도 합병의 해양안보적 고찰을 목표로 하였다. 본 연구는 러시아의 국가안보 인식에 대한 포괄적인 분석을 바탕으로 러시아의 해양안보전략과 흑해·아조프해의 안보적 중요성에 대해서 검토하였으며, 이후 크림반도 합병을 해양 안보적으로 고찰하였다. 이를 통해 본 연구는 러시아의 크림반도 합병이 군사적으로는 흑해함대의 활동을 보장하며 대서양으로의 진출 통로를 확보하여 NATO의 동진에 대항하고 경제적으로는 천연자원의 생산 및 수송, 해운의 안정적인 보장, 흑해경제권 내에서의 영향력 확보를 위한 전략적 고려를 바탕으로 이뤄졌음을 드러냈다.

  • According to International Maritime Organization. more than 50% of cargoes transported by sea today can be regarded as dangerous or hazardous ones, mainly consisting of chemical cargoes in bulk, likely solid or liquid and other materials, such as gases and products for and of the oil refinery industry. 46% of total cargoes handled in ports of Korea in 1999. is said to be dangerous cargoes. These dangerous and hazardous cargoes are quite within a high realms of possibility of accidents, likely to be grave disaster. This paper reviews current risk management system for the dangerous and hazardous cargoes sea-transportation, mainly focusing on the prevailing regal regimes in both USA and Korea. And it aims to suggest some points for advancing the existing Korean system.
