Sea transport industry is service industry and basic industry that permit efficient division of the human and material resources of industry. Also, owing to geographical situation which korea is having, utilization ratio of sea logistics industry is high than other transport ways. Sea transport industry chieves role that promote economy activity of other industry field as well as offer of transport way. Specially, because unit anger of freight by container is introduced, it was achived reduction of transport unit cost and mechanization of loading and unloading by this result. For efficeint connection of each other transport, contianer had offerd to large ship. Quality of service has much dimensions, and is considered while it is important that understand quality of service of sea transport industry through marketing and research of customer connection field because perceive of quality of serviceis different in shipowner/service viscount or shipper/freight owner. This research presented decision factors of sea transport quality of service which shipper and transport agent recognize under these background.

The report analyze the current situation of shipping industry in Viet Nam, including information about Viet Nam seaborne trade, shipping companies, sea-going fleets, seafarers, major seaports. Afterward it will be disclosed the policy of sea transport in Viet Nam. And finally, the author will give summary and conclusion about shipping industry in Viet Nam.

최근 항공관광여가 산업시장의 급격한 성장과 정부기관 및 지방 자치단체의 대단위 투자 계획으로 인해 시장 진입을 통한 신규투자와 기존 기업의 다각화에 의한 투자의 확대가 이루어지고 있으나, 투자활동의 기본인 자산 구조 형성 등에 대한 연구가 미진한 상태이다. 이에 따라, 항공관광여가 산업의 대표적인 업종인 항공운수업, 해상운송업, 육상여객운송업 및 숙박업의 자산구조 분석을 통해 자산구조가 경영 성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 결과를 제시함으로서, 향후 항공관광여가 산업 자체의 효율성을 높이고, 투자 시 참고할 수 있는 기준점을 제시하고자 한다.

The Rotterdam Rules, which was adopted in December 2008 by UNCITRAL, has underlying intention that it will provide uniform law for the international carriage of goods by sea and modernize transport law reflecting modern transport custom. However, it is also true that there are various conflicting views on the Rotterdam Rules. This article tried to analyze main controversial issues such as scope of application, basis of liability of the shipper and the carrier, exception th the volume contract, legal position of the freight forwarder, delivery of the goods from the both sides of view. The Rotterdam Rules exposes some problems in applying and interpreting the Rules as many people indicated. These problems, I think, mainly due to the extended scope of application and broader range of issues. However, I do not think that the Rotterdam Rules will serious affect to the international transport industry. Furthermore, it is unreasonable to expect perfect Rules satisfying every interests.

Soil liquefaction by tsunami or wave induced currents can cause serious damages to coastlines and coastal infrastructures. Although liquefaction caused by regular waves over sea beds has been extensively investigated, studies of tsunami-induced liquefaction near coastal area have been relatively rare. In this work, the hydraulic scale model has been designed and constructed to investigate the variations of wave height and sediment transport by tsunami. The distorted hydraulic scale model based on the Froude similarity was adopted to represent hydrodynamics and sediment transport in a coastal area. The scale model was composed of control box, screw axis, wave paddle and rotating coastal structure.

Kenya is a sovereign country with a vast potential in maritime industry. Though Kenya is known to have made it in IMO white list on $14^{TH}$ May 2010, she is making huge investments in maritime industry in an effort to have a share of booming world maritime industry and sea trade. Statistics has it that 90% of trade volume is carried on the sea, which is strong indication that for any country inspiring to be an economic powerhouse it has to have a lion share of sea trade volume, and one of the proven ways in gaining economic success is by investing heavily in maritime infrastructure. The purpose of this paper is to give a brief description of marine traffic status in port of Mombasa which is the largest port in Kenya, highlight vital features of multi-billion Lamu port investment under taken by the Kenyan government and finally discuss the future of maritime industry and Kenyan seafarer.

Offshore, sub-sea pipelines that transport oil and gas experience thermal expansion induced by the temperature of the transported medium during operation. The expansion of the pipeline can induce overload and cause damage to offshore platforms or sub-sea structures that are connected to the pipelines. To mitigate and prevent these incidents, expansion spools are installed between offshore, sub-sea pipelines and risers on the platform. This paper presents the results of the study and development of a simplified design method for expansion spools, using the slope deflection method for the purpose of preliminary design or front-end engineering and design (FEED).

철강산업은 우리나라의 대표적인 국가 전략산업으로 정부의 적극적 정책지원과 민간의 경영노력이 조화를 이루어 1970년대 이후 한 국경제성장의 견인차 역할을 해왔다. 그러나 우리나라의 경우 철강산업 원자재의 대부분을 수입에 의존하고 있는 실정이며, 이때 수입되는 원자재의 중량이 무겁기 때문에 철강산업은 수송업이라 할 만큼 수송비 부담이 큰 산업이다. 수송의 합리화는 철강산업의 주요한 과제라 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 철스크랩의 안정적인 공급확보 차원에서 철스크랩 수출입 관련 해상운송의 운송경로별(컨테이너선 vs 벌크선) 경제성을 분석하였다. 이를 위해서 먼저 국내외 철강산업의 현황에 대해서 살펴보았으며, 연간 세계 조강생산규모와 철스크랩 소비규모, 세계 철스크랩 교역구조를 분석하였다. 또한, 철스크랩 수출입 관련 컨테이너선과 벌크선의 두 운송수단 간의 수송물류비를 비교하기 위해서 "D 사(社)"의 철스크랩 수출입 운송시간과 운송비용 항목을 이용하여 톤당 물리비용을 산정하여 비교하였다.

The main aim of this paper, via the method of statistical data analysis, is to analyze the current situation of the shipping industry and policies of the shipping industry in Vietnam. Section 1 gives some key information about the current situation of the shipping industry in Vietnam such as: shipping companies and their fleets, seafarers and ports. In view of the many restrictions faced by the Vietnamese shipping industry, section 2 is used to disclose the policies issued by the Vietnamese government in order to help the domestic maritime industry develop further in the near future, and the outcomes of implementing these policies. Besides the fact that some of the measures were feasible and reasonable, some others were not as effective as they were supposed to be, or in fact the initial forecast of their effectiveness was far-fetched. In the last section, after analyzing reasons for the failures, the author proposes that focusing on coastal transportation routes, fleet and port restructuring and skilled labour training were truly necessary to the development of the industry in the immediate period. Furthermore, this paper is also expected to provide a basic foundation for further research by the authors about 'the strategical approach for the development of shipping industry in developing countries: a case of Vietnam' in the near future.

Bulk freight is transported by a freight car, ship and tank lorry without packaging in a state of particles or powders. In korea, the main bulk freight include oil, grain, coal, cement, iron ore and these are occupied nearly 30% of the volume of gross domestic freight transportation. Therefore it is in important to transport efficient bulk freight transport system for the improvement of national distribution competitive as raw material for industry. Generally environment-friendly transfer modes such as railway and sea transport play an important role in bulk freight transport due to the mass transfer characteristics of bulk freight. This study is carried out for examining the problem of oil, grain, coal, cement, ore transportation through analyzing distribution flow of items and understanding characters of transfer modes.
