Due to the Korea's topographic characteristic, there are a lot of marine bridges to connect between islands and mainland. In addition, marine bridges play an important role in a regional landscape. For these reasons, landscape design of bridge is necessary in order to improve beautification of region. So, this studies analyzed image and landscape preference of marine bridges in rural area. The main results were summarized as follows: When rating the image of the background in sea and mountain image, 'stable' and 'natural' were rated highly. When rating the image of the arch bridge in sea and mountain image, 'beautiful', and 'attractive' were rated highly. When rating the image of the cable-stayed bridge in sea and mountain image, 'splendid', and 'attractive' were rated highly. When rating the image of the suspension bridge in sea and mountain image, 'beautiful', and 'splendid' were rated highly. Next, When rating the image of the background in sea and building image, 'stable' and 'natural' were rated highly. When rating the image of the arch bridge in sea and building image, 'beautiful', and 'splendid' were rated highly. When rating the image of the cable-stayed bridge in sea and building image, 'beautiful', and 'attractive' were rated highly. When rating the image of the suspension bridge in sea and building image, 'beautiful', and 'attractive' were rated highly. And, The image of suspension bridges in sea and mountain image is more highly preferred than other image. The background in sea and mountain image is landscape of the lowest preference. In the mountain and sea image, the preference of suspension bridge landscape has the highest rating. In the sea and building image, the preference of arch bridge landscape has the highest rating. In conclusion, the results illustrate that the marine bridge's shape and its background in rural area are important elements of a visual preference. When designing the marine bridge, designer have to choose a proper bridge shape for its background. However, this research's limitation is that this research consider only bridge shape and background to analyze landscape preference of marine bridges. Therefore, further research is necessary to consider various elements.
Due to the sea-crossing bridge span is generally large and main pier pile foundations are located in deep water and carry large vertical load, sea-crossing bridge main pier pile foundations bearing mechanism and load deformation characteristics are still vague. Authors studied the vertical bearing properties of sea-crossing bridge main pier pile foundations through pilot load tests. Large tonnage load test of Qingdao Bay Bridge main pier pile program is designed by using per-stressed technique to optimize the design of anchor pile reaction beam system. Test results show that the design is feasible and effective. This method can directly test bearing capacity of main pier pile foundations, and analysis bearing behaviors from test results of sensors which embedded in the pile. Through test study the vertical bearing properties of main pier pile foundation and compared with the generally short pile, author summarized the main pier pile foundations vertical bearing capacity and the main problem of design and construction which need to pay attention, and provide a reliable basis and experience for sea-crossing bridge main pier pile foundations design and construction.
Due to the complexity of the structure and the limits of classical SEA, a combined SEA approach is employed, with angle-dependent SEA in the low- and mid-frequency ranges and advanced SEA (ASEA) considering indirect coupling in the high-frequency range. As an important component of the steel box girder, the dynamic response of an L-junction periodic ribbed plate is calculated first by the combined SEA and validated by the impact hammer test and finite element method (FEM). Results show that the indirect coupling due to the periodicity of stiffened plate is significant at high frequencies and may cause the error to reach 38.4 dB. Hence, the incident bending wave angle cannot be ignored in comparison to classical SEA. The combined SEA is then extended to investigate the vibration properties of the steel box girder. The bending wave transmission study is likewise carried out to gain further physical insight into indirect coupling. By comparison with FEM and classical SEA, this approach yields good accuracy for calculating the dynamic responses of the steel box girder made of periodic ribbed plates in a wide frequency range. Furthermore, the influences of some important parameters are discussed, and suggestions for vibration and noise control are provided.
The cases of using new methods of big blocks are largely increasing on Recent large-scale bridge structures. So the accurate data of responses of bridges following environmental causes are required to be quickly recorded in order to predict. For this reason described above, the research on measuring system should be conducted for more knowledge of the details on application and stability of new methods. In this study, the new health monitoring system that can monitor the real behavior and damages of the bridge during all processes of construction is presented by analyzing cases of domestic and overseas bridge health monitoring system, and applied methods of following bridges.
Recently the large sea bridge's construction crossing harbor and main ship's route have been propelled in the domestic so that it is active for the smoothly traffic flow of inland transportation and road user's convenience. However, it can bring about the trouble to ensure marine traffic safety if it is built that sea bridge's construction sets to an economy principle in the extension of the land road system. We're adopting Ship Handling Simulation in representative method for the influence assessment of marine traffic safety and danger elements beforehand. This research attempts to show the problems through the comparison and analysis of the reports relating to the sea bridge construction for 4 organization possessing Ship Handling Simulation. Finally, We offer the necessity of standardization on performing and assessment method of simulations.
Bridge types such as the suspension bridges and the cable stayed bridges maintained by cables present the dangerous possibility of a ship running through the bottom of the bridge. Due to hangers and main cables in the upper structural system, the bridge is also susceptible to disasters. However, these cable bridges are usually used for long span bridges over the sea. This structure is relatively more exposed to disasters, such as wind, hail, and earthquake, than other structures. This structure also has the potential to cause car accidents on account of the poor visibility due to foggy conditions. If a fire breaks out because of a car accident due to wind, a car explosion will likely occur.
Long-span cross-strait bridges extending into deep-sea waters are exposed to complex marine environments. During the construction stage, the flexible freestanding bridge towers are more vulnerable to environmental loads imposed by wind and wave loads. This paper presents an experimental investigation on the dynamic responses of a 389-m-high freestanding bridge tower model in a test facility with a wind tunnel and a wave flume. An elastic bridge model with a geometric scale of 1:150 was designed based on Froude similarity and was tested under wind-only, wave-only and wind-wave combined conditions. The dynamic responses obtained from the tests indicate that large deformation under resonant sea states could be a structural challenge. The dominant role of the wind loads and the wave loads change according to the sea states. The joint wind and wave loads have complex effects on the dynamic responses of the structure, depending on the approaching direction angle and the fluid-induced vibration mechanisms of the waves and wind.
The noise from the elevated lines of rail transit has become a growing problem. This paper presents a new method for the rapid prediction of the structure-borne noise from steel or composite bridges, based on the receptance and Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA), which is essential to the study of the generation mechanism and the design of a low-noise bridge. First, the vertical track-bridge coupled vibration equations in the frequency domain are constructed by simplifying the rail and the bridge as an infinite Timoshenko beam and a finite Euler-Bernoulli beam respectively. Second, all wheel/rail forces acting upon the track are computed by taking a moving wheel-rail roughness spectrum as the excitation to the train-track-bridge system. The displacements of rail and bridge are obtained by substituting wheel/rail forces into the track-bridge coupled vibration equations, and all spring forces on the bridge are calculated by multiplying the stiffness by the deformation of each spring. Then, the input power to the bridge in the SEA model is derived from spring forces and the bridge receptance. The vibration response of the bridge is derived from the solution to the power balance equations of the bridge, and then the structure-borne noise from the bridge is obtained. Finally, a tri-span continuous steel-concrete composite bridge is taken as a numerical example, and the theoretical calculations in terms of the vibration and noise induced by a passing train agree well with the field measurements, verifying the method. The influence of various factors on wheel/rail and spring forces is investigated to simplify the train-track-bridge interaction calculation for predicting the vibration and noise from steel or composite bridges.

Jeollanam-do has 25 land-to-island and island-to-island bridges, the largest number in Korea. It is a local government rich in specialized marine and tourism resources centered on the archipelago and the sea bridges connecting them. However, in the case of sea-crossing bridges, when strong winds or typhoons occur, there is an issue that increases anxiety among users and local residents due to excessive vibration of the bridge, apart from structural safety of the bridge. In fact, in the case of Cheonsa Bridge in Shinan-gun, which was recently opened in 2019, vehicle traffic restrictions due to strong winds and excessive vibrations frequently occurred, resulting in complaints from local residents and drivers due to increased anxiety. Therefore, based on the data measured using IoT measurement technology, it is possible to relieve local residents' anxiety about the safety management of marine bridges by providing quantitative and accurate bridge vibration levels related to traffic and wind conditions of bridges in real time to local residents. This study uses the existing measurement system and IoT sensor to constantly observe the wind speed and vibration of the marine bridge, and transmits it to local residents and managers to relieve anxiety about the safety and traffic of the sea-crossing bridge, and strong winds and to develop technologies capable of preemptively responding to large-scale disasters.

Towing vessels have carried out the important role and service in the maritime industry construction, such as port and sea bridge construction, fairway dredging and sea reclamation etc. Furthermore, tugboat takes the largest portion in number of vessel at the domestic registry and barges as big as the general merchant vessel, which are getting specialized and larger, are in operation. In spite of the increase of marine accidents under this situation, there has been no proper measure for the safe navigation of tugboat in the aspect of a nation. This paper aims to propose the measure for the safe navigation of tugboat according to the frequent marine accident of tugboat with sea bridge. Therefore, we show an example of the sailing schedule and operation checklist based on the analysis of statistics and precedent of marine accident and the investigation of the actual operation state of tugboat in the aspect of a contract of carriage and a personnel setup, which should be checked by the operator of tugboat, to pass through sea bridge safely and propose the safe traffic supporting system based on electronic chart system to improve the safe navigation of tugboat.
