The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of fabrication and tightening methods of gold cyliner on the preload of the standard abutment. Three linear strain gauges (KFR-02N-120-C1-23, Kyowa, Japan) were mounted longitudinally on the 5.5mm Standard abutment (Nobel Biocare, Sweden) and three kinds of gold cylinders such as, as-received gold cylinder, gold cylinder after casting, and plastic cylinder after casting with type IV gold alloy were connected over the top of the standard abutment. Two kinds of tightening methods, such as manual torque with handhold screwdriver and electronic torque using Electronic torque controller were used to generate preload on the abutment. The result were as follows; 1. The preload generated by tightening cast plastic cylinder with handhold screw driver, was the lowest among the six groups. 2. The preload generated by cast plastic cylinder was lower than those by gold cylinders regardless of the tightening methods. 3. The electronic torque controller produced higher torque values than the handheld screwdriver.

The high fuel flexibility of gas turbine power system has boosted their use in a wide variety of applications. Recently, the demand for biogas generated from the digestion of organic wastes and sewage waste water as a fuel for gas turbines has increased. We investigated the performance of high pressure biogas compression system and operating conditions for supplying biogas. The total flow per minute of biogas from food waste water digestion tank is $54Nm^3$. The main type of biogas compression system is the reciprocating system and screw type system. The target of biogas mechanical data is the as belows; inlet pressure 0.045bar, supplying biogas temperature is $30{\sim}60^{\circ}C$, and final pressure is above the 25 bar. Also, inlet conditions of biogas consist of CH4 48.5%~83%, $H_2S$ Max. 500ppm, $NH_3$ Max. 1,500ppm and Siloxane 2.7~4.6ppm. The boosting Blower system raises a pressure from 0.045bar to 1bar before main compressor. The main system lay out of reciprocating consisits of compressor driver, filter, cooling system, blowdown vessel, control system and ESD(Emergency Shut Down) system. And an enclosure package needs to be installed for reducing noise up to 75dB. The system driver is the electronic motor of explosion proof type. Forthe compressor system reliable operation, the cleaning system something like particulate filter needs to be set up in the inlet of compressor and Coalescing Filter in the outlet of compressor. Particulate Filter has to be removed above $10{\mu}m$ size of the particles in biogas. The coalescing filter(Micofine Borosilicate Glass Fibers Filter treated phenol acid) also removes moisture and oil of above $0.3{\mu}m$ to be involved in high pressure biogas up to 90%~98%.
The influence of metal artifact in CT image depends on the type of metal materialsm, the reconstruction algorithm, and scan parameters. The presence of metal artifacts was quantitatively evaluated by applying the standard and MAR algorithms through the phantom study. In the change of tube voltage applied the standard algorithm, metal artifact decreased to 44.9% for 80 vs 120 kVp, 24% for 100 vs 120 kVp, while the image taken at 140 kVp increased the artifact by 19% compared to 120 kVp. When the tube current was increased from 100 to 300 mA, there was no significant difference in the CT value and noise. Black band and white strike artifacts occurred up to 65.9% in the adjacent ROI of the metal driver, whereas titanium screw produced lesser metal artifact than that of the metal driver. The combination of 120kVp or higher tube voltage-standard algorithm was effective in removing black band artifacts as well as white streak by high density materials. However, MAR reconstruction algorithm was useful in improving image quality under the environment of low kVp and high density materials, without increase of radiation exposure.
The EWB(electronic wedge brake) is one in which the braking force is developed in a wedge and caliper system and applied to a disk and wedge mechanism. The advantage of the wedge structure is that it produces self-reinforcing effect and hence, utilizes minimal motor power, resulting in reduced gear and current. The extent of use of clamping force sensors and protection from failure of the EWB system directly depends on the level of vehicle mass production. This study investigated the mathematical equations, simulation modeling, and failsafe control algorithm for the clamping force sensor of the EWB and validated the simulations. As this EWB system modeling can be applied to motor inductance, resistance, screw inertia, stiffness, and wedge mass and angle, this study could improve the accuracy of simulation of the EWB. The simulation results demonstrated the braking force, motor speed, and current of the EWB system when the driver desired to the step and pulse the brake force inputs. Moreover, this paper demonstrated that the proposed failsafe control algorithm accurately detects faults in the clamping force sensor, if any.
Purpose: Fractures of the mandibular condylar area are common injuries that account for 29% to 40% of fractures of the facial bones and represent 20% to 62% of all mandibular fractures. Currently 3 main methods are being used in the treatment of mandibular subcondylar fractures: closed reduction; open reduction and internal fixation; Endoscopic reduction and internal fixation. Each method has its proponents and opponent as well as advantages and disadvantages, and indications for each vary among surgeons. There are six approaches of open reduction: submandibular, retromandibular, preaurilcular, postauricular, intraoral, transparotid approach. Among them, transparotid approach has been described for subcondylar exposure with dissection in the direction of facial nerve fibers to expose the bone through the parotid gland. This approach carries the risk of a parotid glandular fistula as well as facial nerve injury but has the advantage of being directly over the fracture site. We report safety and efficacy of surgical treatment using a transparotid approach for direct plating. Methods: A 43-year-old man sustained multiple facial bone fractures by driver traffic accident. Mandibular subcondyle was fractured and dislocated internally. We performed open reduction and internal fixation by transparotid approach. Fractured site was fixed by titanium mini plate & screw. We applicated arch bar for approximately 3 weeks. Results: Follow-up length was about 5months. Scar of surgical incision was indistinct, there was no symptoms and signs of facial nerve and parotid gland injury, and maximal mouth opening was measured 49.5 mm. Conclusion: Transparotid approach has high risks of facial nerve and parotid gland injury, but paradoxically it is the most effective technique in saving facial nerve. Open reduction and internal fixation of mandibular subcondylar fracture by transparotid approach with precise and versed procedure, best outcome can be expected.

Kabuki(Niikawa-Kuroki) syndrome was first reported by Niikawa et al(1981). The faces of the patients are similar to the make-up of traditional Japanese Kabuki actors: long palpebral fissures, an ectropium of the lateral third of the eyelids, and arching eyebrows with sparse lateral halves. Craniofacial findings include a depressed nasal tip, short nasal septum, large and prominent ears, and micrognathia. Other main features area mild to moderate mental deficiency, short stature, skeletal and dermatoglyphic abnormalities, including prominent finger tip pads. Oral anomalies are common in KS(over 60%) and include abnormal dentition, widely spaced teeth, cleft palate or lip, high vault of palate, hypodontia, conical incisors, screw driver-shaped incisors and ectopic upper 6-year molars. The increased occurrence of cleft lip and palate or the development of a high vault of palate has been described by a number of authors. This condition is believed to be common in Japan, but has been reported from other parts of the world. The objective of this presentation is to report a case of this syndrome in six-year-old girl, with characteristic findings.
Purpose: The aim of the present study is to evaluate the effect of repetitive distraction and compression on new bone formation during distraction period. Materials and methods: Sixteen healthy rabbits, weighing about 2.5kg, were used in this experiment. A unilateral mandibular osteotomy was performed in the left mandible and the distractor(Track 1 $plus^{(R)}$, Gebruder Martin $GmbH^{(R)}$, Germany) was fixed with four screws (Cross driver screw $TI^{(R)}$, Gebruder Martin $GmbH^{(R)}$, Germany). After 4 days, the mandibles were distracted at a rate of 0.6mm/day for 10 days to obtain the amount of 6mm distraction in the control group(n=4). In the experimental group A(n=6), they were distracted at a rate of 1.2mm/day for 5 days and then compression of 0.6mm length and distraction of 0.6mm per 12 hours were carried out as counter direction for 5 days, relatively. In the experimental group B(n=6), distraction of 1.2mm length and compression of 0.6mm length per 12 hours were repeated for 10 days to obtain the amount of 6mm distraction finally. The experimental animals were sacrificed at 2 and 4 weeks after surgery and block specimens were obtained. With histologic and histomorphometric analysis, we observed the histologic changes of the cells and bone formation after H-E and Masson- Trichrome staining and then, measured Bone Deposition Rate with TOMORO $ScopeEye^{TM}$ ver. 3.5(Olympus, Japan), Results: Histologically, new bone formation was examined in all experimental groups and the control. But, the ability of bone formation of the experimental group A was somewhat better than any other groups. On the histomorphometric analysis, Bone Deposition Rate was higher in the experimental group A$(50.67{\pm}4.36%)$ than in the control group$(45.94{\pm}3.97%)$ and in the experimental group B$(42.68{\pm}5.70%)$. These data showed significant differences statistically(p<0.05). Conclusion: These results show that the distraction osteogenesis using repetitive compression and distraction force in the early consolidation period may be effective for new bone formation.
