This study was carried out to determine the Joint characteristic of L-type specimens. L-type specimens were made of two kinds uf solid woods(Antiaris, Sepetir) and three kinds of wood based materials(plywood, particleboard, medium density fiberboard). They were constructed with PVC anchor and screw, and were discussed with joint strength and stiffness coefficients. The obtained results were as follows: 1. Bending strength showed very high increasing rate from one to three used PVC anchor and screw but was a little rise from three to four used PVC anchor and screw in solid wood. However. in wood based materials, it was unchanged without increasing rate or slight decreased from three to four used PVC anchor and screw. 2. The stiffness coefficients, or Z-values, were in the range from $4.704\times10^{-4}$ to $1.864\times10^{-3}$(rad/kgf-cm). They showed $10^{-3}$ level in one PVC anchor and screw but $10^{-4}$ level in two, three. four PVC anchor and screw. Accordingly, they indicated flexible joints in one PVC anchor and screw and relatively stable joints in two, three. four PVC anchor and screw. 3. Measured ultimate bending moments were 258.70kgf-cm in plywood and 142.68kgf-cm in medium density fiberboard. 4. Comparing with dowel joint. the joint strength used PVC anchor screw was inferior to 8mm and 10mm dowel diameter but differ little from 6mm dowel diameter.
This paper presents the results of an investigation into the pullout characteristics of screw anchor pile using field pullout tests. A series of field pullout tests were performed on screw anchor piles with different geometric characteristics such as shaft and screw diameters. The results indicated that screw anchor piles exhibited significantly higher pullout capacities compared with the same diameter piles without screw. Also observed is that the set-up effect and the grouting significantly increase pullout capacities, although the magnitude of the increase depends on the ground condition. In addition the applicability of prediction methods for helical pile pullout capacity to screw anchor piles was also examined. The results are presented in such a way that the pullout characteristics of screw anchor piles with different installation conditions can be identified. Practical implications of the findings are discussed.
This paper presents the results of an investigation into the pull-out characteristics of screw anchor piles for use in braced excavation and cut-slope. A series of reduced-scale model tests were performed on model screw anchor piles with different geometric characteristics such as screw size and pitch length. The results indicated that the pullout resistance increases with decreasing the pitch length for a given screw size. It was also observed that the pullout capacity of a screw anchor pile increases with the screw size up to a certain size beyond which the increase becomes minimal. The results are presented in such a way that the pullout characteristics of screw piles with different screw geometric characteristics can be identified. Practical implications of the findings are discussed.

In 2017, the Gyeongju earthquake caused many casualties and considerable property damage by overturning and dropping blocks and bricks. Various reinforcement techniques were proposed, but some problems, such as short length or difficult construction, were encountered. Therefore, this study proposes a long-rawlplug screw anchor to improve the existing rawlplug anchor and conducts an experiment to evaluate the pullout strength. Variables in the pullout test were the compressive strength of concrete and the embedded length of the long-rawlplug screw anchor. According to the results, the pullout strength of the long-rawlplug screw anchor increased as the compressive strength of concrete increased, and they were not affected by the embedded length. Rather, it was found that the screw length of the long-rawlplug was important to the pullout strength.
This paper presents the results of an investigation into the pull-out capacity characteristics of screw anchor piles. Theoretical background of screw anchor pile (SAP) was first discussed. A series of reduced-scale model tests were performed on a number of cases with different SAP geometries such as pitch and diameter of screw as well as relative density of the model ground. The applicability of the pull-out capacity prediction equations were also examined based on the test results. It was shown that the pitch of screw has negligible effect on the pull-out capacity, while the diameter of screw has relatively large effect on pull-out capacity under a given condition. Practical implications of the findings from this study are discussed in great detail.

In the present study, laboratory pull-out tests with screw anchors are carried out to investigate behavior characteristics of underground structures applied uplift seepage forces. Small scaled pull-out tests in sand were conducted under saturated condition. And then, it was observed that the upward displacement as well as the pullout load varied with spacing of the anchor. Also, analyses have been performed with the aim of pointing out the effects of various parameters on the group effect of the screw anchors.
Background: This study was performed to identify the incidence of screw in-type lateral anchor pull-out in patients older than 60 years who underwent rotator cuff repair for large to massive rotator cuff tear (RCT). Methods: We reviewed 25 patients over 60 who were diagnosed with large to massive RCT and underwent arthroscopic rotator cuff repair in our hospital from March 2017 to February 2021. Preoperative tear size (anterior to posterior, medial to lateral) was measured via preoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). All 25 patients underwent MRI scanning on postoperative day 1 and at 3 months after surgery. The change of anchor position was measured in axial views on MRI images postoperative day 1 and 3 months after surgery. And it was statistically compared according to bone mineral density (BMD), sex, and number of lateral anchors. Results: Two MRIs (postoperative day 1 and 3 months) in 25 patients were compared. Anchor pull-out occurred in six patients during 3 months (6.7%), and the mean pull-out length difference was 1.56 mm (range, 0.16-2.58 mm). There was no significant difference in the number of pull-out anchors, degree of pull-out difference by comparing BMD (A, BMD≤-2.5; B, BMD>-2.5), sex, or number of anchors used in each surgery (C, two anchors; D, three anchors) (p>0.05). Conclusions: Pull-out of screw in-type anchors was rarely observed and the mean pull-out length difference was negligibly small in our study. The screw in-type lateral anchor seems to be a decent option without concern of anchor pull-out even in elderly patients.
In this study, Anchor Pile Precast Retaining Wall (APC) with screw shape flange was investigated and the results were arranged for designing APC specifications. Since precast materials require special care when they are manufactured, carried or treated, more accurate design and analysis of optimized dimension are needed : thus moment distribution of front foot was checked. Through full-scale field test, form and optimal stiffening shape were obtained and through fracture test with real load, applicable load was reasonably calculated. Research result in this thesis could be used as guideline or standard of designing and constructing Anchor Pile Precast Retaining Wall with screw shape flange.

Objective: The aim of this finite element study was to clarify the mechanics of tooth movement in palatal en-masse retraction of segmented maxillary anterior teeth by using anchor screws and lever arms. Methods: A three-dimensional finite element method was used to simulate overall orthodontic tooth movements. The line of action of the force was varied by changing both the lever arm height and anchor screw position. Results: When the line of action of the force passed through the center of resistance (CR), the anterior teeth showed translation. However, when the line of action was not perpendicular to the long axis of the anterior teeth, the anterior teeth moved bodily with an unexpected intrusion even though the force was transmitted horizontally. To move the anterior teeth bodily without intrusion and extrusion, a downward force passing through the CR was necessary. When the line of action of the force passed apical to the CR, the anterior teeth tipped counterclockwise during retraction, and when the line of action of the force passed coronal to the CR, the anterior teeth tipped clockwise during retraction. Conclusions: The movement pattern of the anterior teeth changed depending on the combination of lever arm height and anchor screw position. However, this pattern may be unpredictable in clinical settings because the movement direction is not always equal to the force direction.

In recent years, the use of cold-formed steel roof truss has been increased in the steel houses and high-rise apartments. The design of the roof truss anchor connections has been based on the experience and decision of designers. In this paper, the structural behavior of anchor connections based on experimental and decision is described. In the tests, truss members and connection members were jointed directly with self-drilling screw fasteners and the simple shaped connection member with excellent workability and structural capacity was used to connect roof truss and sub-structure. The connecting method was selected according to the construction material of sub-structure: chemical anchor for reinforced concrete structure and welding or DX-Pin for steel structures. The pull-out tests of various type anchor connection were executed to obtain the strength and the stiffness and the result have been compared with AISI(1996) and AlSC(1989) specifications, Simple formulas for the shear strength of screw connections have been propose and compared with tests.
