  • In this study through a series of the experiments, 1) the preferable luminance values of the CRT screens, 2) the preferable luminance ratios between the CRT screens and its surrounding surfaces are determined. The results are evaluated by the level of satisfaction, and re-examined by the work performance (number of types, rate of errors) and the level of eye fatique (number of blinks, near point distance)

  • We in anticancer drug development from natural resources have conceived and used a wide variety of experimental screening systems to support our efforts during the past 20 tears. Screens have been devided to address targets at the molecular, biochemical and cellular levels, both in vivo and in vitro. Screens have been essential for the experimental evaluation of the products from natural sources. In this congress, antitumor screening methods for deveol[ment of new drugs from natural sources and evaluation of their crude drugs are discussed.

  • This paper presents a high-speed sensing and noise cancellation technique for large touch screens, which is called FDCS (Frequency Division Concurrent Sensing). Most conventional touch screen detection methods apply excitation pulses sequentially and analyze the sensing signals sequentially, and so are often unacceptably slow for large touch screens. The proposed technique applies sinusoidal signals of orthogonal frequencies simultaneously to all drive lines, and analyzes the signals from each sense line in frequency domain. Its parallel driving allows high speed detection even for a very large touch screens. It enhances the sensing SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) by introducing a frequency domain noise filtering scheme. We also propose a pre-distortion equalizer, which compensates the drive signals using the inverse transfer function of touch screen panel to further enhance the sensing SNR. Experimental results with a 23" large touch screen show that the proposed technique enhances the frame scan rate by 273% and an SNR by 43dB compared with a conventional scheme.

  • This study was to compare the quality of image by different screen and film combinations. Using the sensitometer measured the speed and average gradient of blue sensitive films and orthochromatic films. The films was combined with rare earth screen LR, LM, LF and conventional screen OM, OH, XOR, OKa and exposed the step wedge to impulse 2, 3, 4, 6, 10, 15, 24,3 8, 60 and measured the density. The following results were obtained: 1. The density of film and film-screen combinations showed significant difference, then in film-screen combinations was significantly different by the screens than films. 2. The speed of blue sensitive films was little different, the TMG of orthochromatic films produced high speed, and the AX film was high average gradient. 3. The relative speed of film-screen combinations showed significant difference, and was high in the OKa of the conventional screens and in the LR of the rare earth screens, especially that of LR screen in the combination with blue sensitive films was high. 4. The average gradient of film-screen combinations showed no significant difference, and was high in the OKa screen and LR/OG combination, and that of OKa/AX combination was highest. 5. The latitude of film-screen combinations showed significant difference by screens, and was high in the LM screen in combination with blue sensitive films and in the OM screen in combination with orthochromatic films. 6. The subject contrast of film-screen combinations showed significant difference by screen, and was high in the LR screen in combination with blue sensitive AX film and orthochromatic TMG film.

  • This paper analyzes the effect of the number of viewers and the number of running screens in the theater, genres of the movies and holdback period on the number of purchases movie VOD contents. In this paper, we deals with the 169 movies VOD consumption data which the digital cable TV subscribers purchased during the third quarter of 2013. As a result of the research, the average number of VOD purchases per each movie is 2,540. Regression analysis proves that the number of running screens and the holdback period are statistically playing a role of significance in movie VOD purchases. But the number of viewers in the theaters is not of significance. By genres, the result is shown as in this order: SF/fantasy 8,401 > dramas 4,011 > comedies 2,011 > action 1,789 > animation 1,138 > love story/melo 1,119 > horror/thriller 770 > erotic movies 636.

  • Smartphones and smartpads have a lot of advantages such as high convenience and portability. Also, they can effectively manage enormous amounts of information based on their high performance and plentiful applications. As such devices have been frequently used, many users manage various types of information using the devices. Recently, during conferences or seminars, smart device users often try to utilize stored resources on their devices and present them visually. Unfortunately, since smart devices have small displays, there is an essential difficulty in visual sharing of information. In this paper, we propose a method which integrates screens of several android smart devices and supports sharing of the integrated screen through a large display, presenting a screen sharing system for android smart devices. The developed system integrates display screens of several smart devices into a screen and shows the integrated screen through a large display connected to a desktop computer. In addition, to support the effective sharing of screens, the system provides functions for adjusting the number and the size of screens on a large display. The functions are controlled on a smart device and/or a desktop computer.

  • The local heat transfer of an axisymmetric submerged air jet impinging on a heated flat plate is investigated experimentally with the variation of mesh-screen solidity. The screen installed in front of the nozzle exit modifies the flow structure and local heat transfer characteristics. The mean velocity and turbulence intensity profiles of streamwise velocity component are measured using a hot-wire anemometry. The temperature distribution on the heated flat surface is measured with thermocouples. The smoke-wire flow visualization technique was employed to understand the near-field flow structure qualitatively for different mesh screens. Large-scale toroidal vortices and high turbulence intensity enhance the heat transfer rate in the stagnation region. For a higher solidity, turbulence intensity become higher which increases the local heat transfer at small nozzle-to-plate spacings such as L/D<6. The local and average Nusselt numbers of impinging jet from the $\sigma$(sub)s=0.83 screen at L/D=2 are about 5.6∼7.5% and 7.1% larger than those for the case of no screen, respectively. For the nozzle-to-plate spacings larger than 6, however, the turbulence intensities for all tested screens approach to an asymptotic curve and the mean velocity along the jet centerline decreases monotonically. As the nozzle-to-plat spacing increases for high solidity screens, the heat transfer rate decreases due to the reduction in turbulence intensity and jet momentum.

  • Screen X is one of the Premium Large-Format platforms. Screen X projects images and video along the side wall of the theatre that go in synch with the front main screen. It's a different way of immersing the audience. This technique demands film-makers taking the two new "screens" into account when making movies. Screen X is the most obvious feature of viewing content with a range of 270 degrees. Viewers can view the experience of viewing experiences beyond the frame of screen screens by allowing viewers to experience the experience beyond the frame of screen screens, which means screen X can immerse the audiences without 3D glasses. Based on the results of this study, studies of content specifications and how they fit in the screen X are studied, and goals for maximizing the visual effects of the visual effects are studied. Looking forward to future research paper researchers and industry professionals who will benefit from future research papers.

  • The current study reports the results of an experimental program conducted on a structure fitted with a liquid damper (TLD) and subjected to harmonic excitation. Screens were placed inside the TLD to achieve the required inherent damping. In the first part of the study, reduced scale models of the building-TLD systems were tested under two levels of excitation. The efficiency of the damper was assessed by evaluating the effective damping provided to the structure and comparing it to the optimum effective damping value, provided by a linear tuned mass damper (TMD). An extensive parametric study was then conducted for one of the three models by varying both the excitation amplitude and the tuning ratio, defined as the ratio of the TLD sloshing frequency to the natural frequency of the structure. The effectiveness and robustness of a TLD with screens were assessed. Results indicate that the TLD can be tuned to achieve a robust performance and that its efficiency is not significantly affected by the level of excitation. Finally, the equivalent amplitude dependent TMD model, developed in the companion paper is validated using the system test results.
