과학 연극이 초등학생의 과학 태도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Science Drama on Elementary Students' Science Attitudes)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of a science drama on elementary students' science attitudes. To this study, the survey measured science attitudes conducted to the experimental group(N=33) and the control group(N=33), and it was interviewed to them after their science drama. The interview was recorded to make a transcript, then used to complement the results of sub-domain analysis. The results were as follows: There was a statistically significant difference in curiosity and creativity regarding scientific attitude, and interest in science and appreciation of scientist regarding attitudes towards science. Though there was no statistical significance in the other domain of science attitudes, we confirmed that students' science attitudes was changed more positively and meaningfully by the analysis of the interview. Based-on this study, we suggested the implications and the following studies.

과학영재의 과학문제발견력 관련변인에 대한 구조방정식모형 분석: 과학관련태도와 동기 및 자기조절 학습전략을 중심으로 (An Analysis of Structural Equation Model on the Scientific Problem Finding Ability of the Scientifically Gifted Based on Science Related Attitude, Motivation, and Self-regulation Learning Strategy)

  • 본 연구는 수도권 대학부설 과학영재교육원에 재학중인 153명의 과학영재를 대상으로 과학문제발견력을 구성하는 학습자요인으로서 과학관련태도와 동기 및 자기조절적 학습전략 변인을 중심으로 가설적 구조모형을 상정하여 구조방정식모형분석을 통해 구조모형을 검증하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 변인들간의 상관분석 결과, 과학관련태도가 긍정적일수록 자아효능감이나 내재적 가치를 나타내는 동기가 유의미하게 높게 나타났으며, 인지전략의 사용이나 자기조절을 나타내는 자기조절적 학습전략이 높다는 것을 알 수 있었다 과학관련태도 중 과학적 태도가 긍정적일수록 과학문제발견력중 창의성관련 범주인 정교성이 높았다. 그러나, 과학관련태도의 다른 하위범주와 과학문제해결력의 다른 하위범주간에는 유의미한 상관을 보이지 않았다. 또한 자기조절적 학습전략은 자기조절적 학습전략이 높을수록 정교성이 높았으며 과학의 탐구동기와 탐구수준과도 정적 관계를 갖고 있음이 확인되었다. 둘째, 과학문제발전력의 구조모형을 검증한 결과, 과학탐구관련 과학문제발견력 구조모형 1과 창의성 관련 과학문제발견력 구조모형 2의 분석결과가 모두 학습자의 정의적 요인인 과학관련태도가 직접적으로 과학문제발견력에 영향을 미치는 것이 아니라 자아효능감과 학습에 대한 내재적 가치의 인식을 갖는 동기요인과 자기조절적 학습전략의 사용을 매개로 하여 과학문제발견력에 영향을 미친다는 것이 확인되었다.

과학 탐구활동지 만들기 수업 프로그램이 초등 예비교사들의 과학에 대한 태도와 과학 탐구에 대한 태도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of a Scientific Inquiry Worksheet-making Class Program on Pre-service Elementary School Teachers' Attitudes toward Science and Scientific Inquiry)

  • 본 연구에서는 교육대학교 초등과학교육론 수업에서 과학 활동지 만들기 수업 프로그램을 통해 초등 예비교사들의 과학에 대한 태도와 과학 탐구에 대한 태도에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 교육대학교 3학년에 재학중인 예비교사 141명을 대상으로 하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 과학 탐구활동지 만들기 수업 프로그램은 초등 예비교사들의 과학에 대한 태도를 개선시켰으며, 과학에 관한 지식을 갖추는 것이 중요하다는 인식에 도움을 주어 장래 학교에서 과학을 가르치는 일을 더 즐거운 것으로 느끼게 만들 수 있었던 것으로 판단된다. 둘째, 과학 탐구활동지 만들기 수업 프로그램은 초등 예비교사들의 과학 탐구에 대한 태도에 긍정적인 영향을 준 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 탐구 기반 학습 유형을 중요한 과학 수업의 과정으로 생각하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 과학 탐구활동지 만들기 수업 프로그램이 현장에 가서 어떠한 도움이 될 수 있는지에 대한 개방형 질문 결과, 수업모형의 활용 방안 측면에서 도움이 된다는 반응이 가장 많았고, 초등학생들의 과학적 지식이나 탐구과정 이해에 도움을 줄 것으로 생각하고 있었다.

다중지능을 활용한 학습이 학생들의 과학탐구능력 및 과학적 태도에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of the Science Process Skill and Scientific Attitudes by multiple-Intelligence)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of higher grades in elementary the science process skill and scientific attitudes by multiple-intelligence. To verify research problem, the subject of this study were sixth-grade students selected from two classes of an elementary school located in U1san : the search group is composed of twenty-nine students who were participated in multiple-Intelligence situation, and the other is composed of thirty-two students(comparison group) who were participated in teacher map based learning situation. During six weeks, the multiple-Intelligence was executed in th search group while the teacher map based instruction in comparison group Post-test showed following results: First, the search group showed a significant improvement in the science process skill compared th the comparison group. Second, the search group did not showed a significant improvement in the scientific attitudes compared th the comparison group. In conclusion, multiple-Intelligence teaching model was more effective than the teacher map based teaching model on science process skill. However, since the study has a limit on an object of the study and the applied curriculum, the additional studies need to be conducted with an extended comparative group and curriculum.

Klopfer의 과학 교육 목표 분류 방법에 의한 중학교 학생들의 과학에 대한 태도 조사연구 (A survey on the Attitudes of the Middle School Students Toward Science Using Klopfers Classification of Science Education)

  • The measurement tad of student's attitudes towards secondary school science had been developed according to the scheme of categories of science education object by Klopfer. Sixteen background factors of student had been chosen in order to find out a difference in student's attitudes towards secondary school science for each background factor. The twenty-eighth grade student's attitudes towards secondary school science in the Province of Chung Cheong Buk Do had been investigated by the developed tool. The findings were as follow: 1. On the whole the investigated students had favorable attitudes towards secondary school science. 2. The adoption of scientific attitudes and favorable attitudes towards science and scientists were the best affirmative attitudes. 3. The correlation between enjoyment of science learning experiences and development of interest in pursuing a career in science was the highest level. 4. The seven of sixteen background factors-sex, interest in science, science mark, location of residence, sat sifaction level at science learning, familiarity level with the name of scientific instruments and intended job-affected studentss attitudes towards secondary school science.

관찰에 의한 국민학교 3, 5학년 자연과 수업의 목표 분석 (The Analysis of Educational Objectives by Observation in the 3rd and 5th Grade Science Instruction)

  • This study pursued to find out the degree to which educational objectives are pursued in the 3rd and 5th grade science instructional of an elementary school. Twenty science instruional hours are observed during two month from May to July, 1989. Klopfer's science educational objectives system is used as the tool of objective analysis. Questionnaires for the ideal proportions of the educational objectives are answered by the professors and elementary school teachers. The writers regarded those results as the ideal proportions of the educational objectives. Results from the analysis of the instruction are as follows : 1. Results from analysis of the instruction in the third grade are as follows : knowledge and comprehension (A. 0) objectives are found to be pursued. about 40%. scientific inquiry process(B. 0-E. 0) objectives, about 29%, application of scientific knowledge and methods(F. 0) objectives. about 10%, manual skills(G. 0) objectives, about 11%, scientific attitudes and interests(H. 0) objectives, about 10% and orientation(I. 0) objectives is not pursued. 2. Results from analysis of the instruction in the fifth grade are as follows: knowledge and comprehension(A. 0) objectives are found to be pursued. about 31%, scientific inquiry process (B. 0-E. 0) objectives. about 38%, application of scientific knowledge and methods (F. 0) objectives, about 13%, manual skills(G. 0) objectives, about 7%, scientific attitudes and interests(H. 0) objectives, about 10%. 3. Results from the ideal proportions are as follows : Knowledge and comprehension(A. 0) objectives, 20.5%, scientific inquiry process(B. 0-E. 0) objectives, 46.5%, application of scientific knowledge and methods(F. 0) objectives. 8%, manual skills(G. 0) objectives. 9.5%, scientific attitudes and interests (H. 0) objectives, 9% and orientation(I. 0) objectives, 6.5%. 4. "You ideality index" is 29 in the third grade and 23 in the fifth grade. Science instruction of the fifth grade can be interpreted to be nearer to the ideal instruction in terms of educational objectives.

  • The study aimed to examine the effects of cooperative learning in science teaching on scientific knowledge, inquiry ability, and science - related attitudes. This study has carried out LT strategy. The cooperative learning was applied to the experimental group for 8 weeks with worksheets developed for this study, The results were statistically analyzed by SPSS. The results are as follows: Students of cooperative learning made significant progress in scientific knowledge(p<.05), inquiry ability(p<.01), and science - related attitudes(p<.05). The students in the cooperative classes have shown that the cooperative learning was good for causing interest. inducing active participation, and helping students' learning. and students showed strong wish for the continuous cooperative loaming.

코넬식 과학일지 쓰기가 초등학생의 과학 관련 태도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Cornell Typed Science Journal Writing on Elementary Students' Science-Related Attitude)

  • This study aimed to investigate the effects of Cornell typed science journal writing on elementary students' science-related attitude by gender and academic achievement. The subjects of study were 109 elementary students (5th grade). The experimental group performed Cornell typed science journal writing and the control group maintained traditional lectures for one semester. Science-related attitudes of this study are classified into scientific attitudes (7 sub-domains) and attitudes toward science (5 sub-domains). The collected data were analyzed by ANCOVA with SPSS. The results of study were as follows: Several sub-domain (voluntariness, cooperation, perception about science and scientist) of science-related attitudes positively changed in experimental group. Cornell typed science journal writing was especially effective on improving scientific attitude in male students, and attitude toward science in female students. Also, science journal writing was effective on improving science-related attitude (both scientific attitude and attitude toward science) in high-achieving group, but not effective in low-achieving group.

과학만화 독서가 초등학생의 과학 흥미도, 학업성취도 및 과학적 태도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Science Cartoon Reading on the Levels of Interest in Science, the Academic Achievements and the Scientific Attitudes of Elementary Students)

  • Various data and methods are necessary to help students understand the science subject, and have interest in it. Most students like cartoons, and more easily memorize their contents. The purpose of this study was to verify the effects of science cartoon reading on the academic achiements, the levels of interests in science and scientific attitudes of elementary students The study subjects were four classes of the 6th grade of G elementary school in U city. Two classes were experimental group and the others were comparison group. The students of the experimental classes were encouraged to read science cartoon related to class contents at the beginning and ending for 5 minutes respectively in instructional time. And those of the comparison classes received general science lesson. The results of this study were as follows. First, the experimental classes encouraged to read science cartoon marked higher average score than comparison classes in post-test and the difference was meaningful (p<.05). This meant science cartoon reading treatment had the effect of improvement of the levels of interest in science of student. Second, the experimental classes marked higher average score than comparison classes in post-test but didn't show meaningful difference. This meant science cartoon reading treatment didn't have the effect of improvement of academic achievement of students in our study. Third, the experimental classes marked higher average score than comparison classes in post-test and showed the meaningful difference(p<.05). This meant science cartoon reading treatment had the effect of improvement of scientific attitudes of students. From the results thus far, we could tell that science cartoon reading had positive effects on the levels of interest in science and scientific attitudes of students in our study.

뇌 기반 과학 교수 학습 모형을 적용한 "슬기로운 생활" 수업의 효과 (The Effects of a Brain-Based Science Teaching and Learning Model on ${\ulcorner}$Intelligent Life${\lrcorner}$ Course of Elementary School)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a brain-based science teaching and learning model on the science related attitudes, scientific inquiry skills and science knowledge of the 2nd graders in Intelligent Life course. For this study, 117 elementary students from four classes of the 2nd grade in Seoul were selected. In the comparison group, traditional instruction was implemented and in the experimental group, instruction according to brain-based science teaching and learning model was implemented for four weeks. The results of this study were as follows : There were little differences between the comparison and experimental groups in terms of the science related attitudes except for the sub-domains of interest and curiosity. And brain-based science teaching and learning model programs improved a few scientific inquiry skills, especially observation and classification. In addition, the experimental groups showed a positive effect on science knowledge. In conclusion, brain-based science teaching and learning model programs were more effective in improvement of the science related attitudes, scientific inquiry skills and science knowledge of elementary students.
