Three-axis Attitude Control for Flexible Spacecraft by Lyapunov Approach under Gravity Potential

  • Attitude control law synthesis for the three-axis attitude maneuver of a flexible spacecraft model is presented in this study. The basic idea is motivated by previous works for the extension into a more general case. The new case includes gravitational gradient torque which has significant effect on a wide range of low earth orbit missions. As the first step, the fully nonlinear dynamic equations of motion are derived including gravitational gradient. The control law design based upon the Lyapunov approach is attempted. The Lyapunov function consists of a weighted combination of system kinetic and potential energy. Then, a set of stabilizing control law is derived from the basic Lyapunov stability theory. The new control law is therefore in a general form partially validating the previous work in some sense.

  • Accoring to the astonlshing progress of medical science, the medical roles of the radiologic technologist are increasing gradually and specializing highly. However, there are the wide disagreements the actual roles of the radiologic technologists at clinics and the relating rules of the medical law. Therefore, it is required that the medical law should be corresponded with the actual state. To solve these problems. this study has proceeded to make the survey of the present medical law and has tried to offer the most suitable theories to the actual state. This study includes the survey of relevant professional literatures. The major contents of this study are as follows. First, medical technician is written "技士" (in Chinese character) at the present medical technician law, and that word is written wrong. So, it should be replaced with "技師". Therefore, radiologic technologist should be written "放射線師". Second, the relations between the doctor and the radiologic tecnologist should be written the "request or other words" instead of "direction". Third, in spite of the rules of the present medical law, the medical act of radiologic technologist at clinics should be belonging to the boundary of medical practice. Forth, to present the appropriate medical service to the patients, legal status of radiologic technologist as a member of medical team should be established. Fifth, it is desired that Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technology as a business of radiologic technologist should be provided for in the medical law.

Robust Adaptive Control of A HexaSlide Type Parallel Manipulator

  • Jeha Ryu Department of Mechatronics, Kwangju Institute of Science and Technology This paper presents an application of a robust adaptive control strategy to HexaSlide type six degrees-of-freedom parallel manipulators. The HexaSlide type parallel manipulators are characterized as an architecture with constant link lengths that are attached to moving sliders on the ground and to a mobile platform. The proposed control law is developed based on a simplified second order system dynamic equation in joint space with uncertain mass, damper, spring, and Coulomb friction terms. These uncertain parameters are updated by an adaptation law that is derived by Lyapunov stability theorem. A robust adaptive control law by using the boundary layer is designed for the purpose of compensating for the neglected dynamic effects of the mobile platform and the six moving links that are modeled as a disturbance term. Experimental results show good and fast tracking performance.

  • A Nonlinear approach to control of Small Scale Rotary Wing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (R-UAV) is presented. Using Backstepping, a globally stabilizing control law is derived. We derive backstepping control law for angle of attack and sideslip control. The inherent nonlinear nature of the system are considered here which helps in naturally stabilizing without extensive external effort. Thus, the resulting control law is much simpler than if the feedback linearization had been used.

Space-Stretch Tradeoff Optimization for Routing in Internet-Like Graphs

  • Compact routing intends to achieve good tradeoff between the routing path length and the memory overhead, and is recently considered as a main alternative to overcome the fundamental scaling problems of the Internet routing system. Plenty of studies have been conducted on compact routing, and quite a few universal compact routing schemes have been designed for arbitrary network topologies. However, it is generally believed that specialized compact routing schemes for peculiar network topologies can have better performance than universal ones. Studies on complex networks have uncovered that most real-world networks exhibit power-law degree distributions, i.e., a few nodes have very high degrees while many other nodes have low degrees. High-degree nodes play the crucial role of hubs in communication and inter-networking. Based on this fact, we propose two highest-degree landmark based compact routing schemes, namely HDLR and $HDLR^+$. Theoretical analysis on random power-law graphs shows that the two schemes can achieve better space-stretch trade-offs than previous compact routing schemes. Simulations conducted on random power-law graphs and real-world AS-level Internet graph validate the effectiveness of our schemes.

  • This paper handles synthesis and investigation of a neural network guidance law based on pursuit-evasion games. This work considers two-dimensional pursuit-evasion games solved by using the gradient method. The procedure of developing a guidance law from the game-optimal solutions is deeply examined, and important features of the neural network guidance are investigated. The proposed neural network guidance law takes the range, range rate, line-of-sight rate, and heading error as its input variables. By reconstructing the trajectory, the accuracy of the neural network approximation is verified.   • In this report, a longitudinal adaptive flight control law is presented for the automatic landing system of a Japanese automatic landing flight experiment vehicle (ALFLEX). The longitudinal adaptive flight control law is designed to track an output of the vehicle to a guidance signal from the guidance portion of the automatic landing system. The proposed adaptive control law in the attitude control portion adjusts the controller gains continuously online as flight conditions change, in spite of the existence of unmodeled dynamics. The number of the controller gains to be adjusted is decreased to 1/2 from the previous studies. Computer simulation involving six-degree-of-freedom (DOF) nonlinear flight dynamics is performed to examine the effectiveness of the proposed adaptive control law. In order to verify the influence of the dispersion of the initial conditions, the Monte Carlo simulation is also applied. The initial conditions are more widely dispersed than the previous studies. As a result, except under the unsuitable initial conditions, the ALFLEX successfully landed on the runway.

제조물책임법상 제조물로서 의약품의 결함 (Defective Medicine according to Product Liability Law)

  • In Product Liability law, the 'defection' of the manufactured products is its key concept, defined in detail. The concept had been already developed through the precedents and theories for the past years even before the PL law was enacted and the concept was listed. Especially, the medicine products need the different approach, because they might directly harm to the human life and body due to their being injected or taken, unlikely other manufactured articles. Since the medical products have the double contradictory functions such as effects and side effects, the defection decisions become so difficult. However, because there are high concerns that wrong medical products will directly harm the human life and body, the decision standards should be more strengthened. The decision standards should include the risk-effect standard as the considered components and make the customer-expecting standard as the final standard. The decision time for defection should be made considering the science technology level when the medical products were provided, not when the accident occurred. It is the most important for the manufacturers to prevent the damages by making and selling the non-defective medicine products for themselves, rather than by taking the legal remedy means afterwards. Therefore, the non-defective guidelines for the medicine manufacturers will help increase the effects and minimize the side-effects.
