  • The unexpected observation condition or insufficient measurement modeling can lead to uncertain measurement errors. The uncertain measurement error of orbit determination problem typically consists of noise, bias and drift. It must be removed by using a proper estimation process for better orbit accuracy. The estimation of noise and drift is not easy because of their random or unpredictable variation. On the other hand, bias is a constant difference between the mean of the measured values and the true value, so it can be simply removed. In this study, precision orbit determination with SLR observations considering range bias estimation is presented. The Yonsei Laser-ranging Precision Orbit Determination System (YLPODS) and SLR NP (Normal Point) observations of CHAMP satellite are used for this work. The SLR residual test is performed to estimate the range bias of each arc. The result shows that we can get better orbit accuracy through range bias estimation.

  • Using the case of the Ghent University and its Technology Park, we will illustrate how changing policies and practices at the level of the university concerning research valorization have an impact on our science park. We will also demonstrate how the evolving nature of our science park has a clear impact on the university, as the science park becomes more and more an integral part of the university knowledge eco-system. We will also highlight the involvement of Ghent University in the Korea Songdo Global University Campus Project.

  • This paper aims to explore the institutional difference between Tsinghua University Science Park (TusPark) in Beijing, and business incubator of Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Shenzhen (RITS), and to examine how the difference leads to different new product performance for tenants. In doing so, we use survey methodology to investigate the innovation sources, university linkages, and innovation outputs of tenants in TusPark and RITS. We found that tenants in RITS reply more on "market-driven" knowledge sources for innovation: including knowledge from customers, suppliers, and competitors. The empirical findings suggest that the technology support provided by RITS and the high dependency on "market-driven" knowledge sources jointly contribute to the better new product performance for tenants in RITS.

  • On 28 April 2008, a male Himalayan Swiftlet (Aerodramus brevirostris) was captured and examined at a night roost of swallows on Hongdo Island, Jeollanam-do, Korea. This is the first record of this species from Korea confirmed by specimen examination. We describe morphological features and some phylogenetic notes of the Himalayan Swiftlet found.
