학교도서관의 발전 경향에 관한 연구 (A study on the development trends of school libraries in western world)

  • The purpose of this study is to survey the development trends of school libraries in the western world namely U. S. A., Canada by analyzing such items as education and environment, staff, policy, standard and professional organization, and to find out how and why they were able to maintain efficient library services. The major findings are summarized as follows : (1) There are school district supervisor whose functions are to direct and supervise the school libraries in the district. (2) The school district supervisor, school administrator, Teacher and Teacher librarian all recognize the importance of its educational role and cooperate together for the development. (3) They gether statistical data on school library for continuous revision of statement, guideline and standard. (4) Not only the educational organization and the library organization but also the private foundation conduct systematic research and extend financial aid for the development of school library. (5) The Compulsory Codes and pertinent laws have been enacted to promote school library development.

미국학교도서관기준에 나타난 SLMP의 교육적 이념 (The Educational Idea Presenting In the SLMP's Standards)

  • In the modern communicative age, the standards of the school libraries are the qualitative guarantee on the services of school libraries or school library media programs, as the guidline, the active guide, the policy documentation and criteria for the professional excellence. The standards of SLMP were revised the sixth time by the school library profession(ALA) with the members or agency of NEA in the U.S. There are the first standard was a quantitative; 'the Certain Report'(by A.L.A., 1920) appearing that the school library is the heart of the school, 2nd 1925; turning up the teaching material source and personel, 'School Libraries for today and tomorrow' (by AASL, 1945) incluseing the instructional materials and the 7th educational ideas in the quantitative feature, 'Standards for School Library Programs' (by AASL, 1960) expressing the instructional material center, communicative environment, learning and teaching laboratory, 'Standards for school media programs' (by DAVI & AASL, 1969) implicating the instructional resource, learning and teaching laboratory, the condition precedent of qualitative education for excellence, 'Standards for media programs; District/school (by AASL & AECT, 1975) containing the improving user's educational experience and personal freedom on the use of SLMP's services. Through changing the standards of SLMP in the US, We have known that the main educational idea in the standards are; (1) SLMP is the instructional force and resource for qualitative, excellence education by learning and teaching laboratory, instructional resource, communicative environment (2) SLMP is the actualizing force and resource for user's self-realization by intellectual and personal excellence, individualizing, humanizing and personalizing education.

공공도서관과 학교도서관의 상호협력에 관한 연구 (The study on the cooperation between public and school libraries)

  • The purpose of this research was to study the merits and barriers to successful school and public library cooperation in the city of Seoul and to obtain perspective and the basic data used to implement practical cooperative measures. A questionnaire survey was conducted for 22 public libraries in city of Seoul concerning both positive and negative aspect of cooperation between two types of libraries. Based on the survey results, the following conclusions and recommendations are made ; 1) The librarians recognized the necessity of cooperation that promote efficiency of library operation and also contribute toward local community development. 2) The librarians are agreeable to the cooperative service and the institutional cooperation will prevent redundancy of collection development and will make variety of book selection possible. 3) The cooperation will not result in manpower reduction or budget saving. 4) Inconvenience due to distance between two types of library is anticipated. 5) In order to develop the skills and capabilities of the librarians, it is desirable to offer reeducational program and o n.0, pportunities to attend conferences and meetings. 6) The library user orientation program is to be held regularly. 7) It is necessary to make policy statement of library cooperation in order to maintain autonomy of each library. 8) The establishment of branch libraries and moving libraries under the educational district is recommended.

미국 지역 교육구 학교도서관 담당관의 지위 및 역할에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Position and Role of the School District Library Media Director in the USA)

  • 본 연구는 미국 지역 교육구 학교도서관 담당관의 지위 및 역할을 소개하고 이를 우리나라 실정에 맞는 인력으로 활용하고자 함에 그 목적을 두었다. 연구 진행을 위해 문헌조사법, 관찰법, 설문조사법과 인터뷰법을 시행하였으며, 그 결과 사서교사의 업무를 강화시키고 지역 내 학교도서관을 효율적으로 관리, 지원함에 있어서 학교도서관 담당관의 역할이 절실히 요구됨을 확인하였다. 따라서 우리나라에서도 지역별 학교도서관 담당관 직위의 비치를 통해 학교도서관 활성화를 꾀할 수 있음을 확신한다. 설문조사의 결과, 학교도서관 담당관의 전공은 문헌정보학이 중심이 되어야 하며, 문헌정보학에 대한 해박한 지식 뿐 아니라 테크놀러지 지식, 교육자로서의 자질, 관리자로서의 리더쉽, 커뮤니케이션 기술, 사서교사를 대변하는 대변인으로서의 자질이 요구되었다.

  • 학교도서관의 양적 증가로 학교도서관 자원봉사의 중요성이 더욱 강조되고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 학교도서관 자원봉사의 운영에 대한 현황을 파악하여 문제점과 대응방안을 제시하고, 이를 바탕으로 학교도서관 자원봉사의 활성화에 기여하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여, 첫째, 문헌연구를 통하여 학교도서관과 자원봉사에 대한 이론적 배경을 바탕으로 학교도서관의 자원봉사에 대한 의의를 살펴보고, 둘째, 서울특별시 동작구와 관악구를 관할하는 동작교육지원청 관내의 초등학교 가운데 교육복지특별지원사업 대상인 12개 학교를 대상으로 학교도서관의 사서와 자원봉사자를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 셋째, 설문조사를 보완하기 위하여 설문조사 대상인 학교도서관의 사서 가운데 8명을 대상으로 면담조사를 실시하였다. 그리고 이를 바탕으로 학교도서관 자원봉사의 문제점과 활성화 방안을 도출함으로써 학교도서관 자원봉사의 이해에 일조하고자 하였다.

경상북도교육청 도서관의 전문가 의견을 반영한 추진계획 성과 분석 및 발전 방안 연구 (Analyzing the Performance of the Promotion Plan and Studying Development Plans with Expert Opinions from the Gyeongsangbuk-do Education Library)

  • 본 연구는 경상북도교육청 도서관의 인문·사회적 가치 실현과 급변하는 미래사회 환경에 대응하기 위한 비전 및 정책 방안을 마련하고자 한다. 이에 7개 평가항목을 도출하고 19개 평가지표를 선정하여 그 간의 계획추진 성과와 중요도 진단을 통해 시사점을 도출하였다. 주요 시사점으로, 계획추진 정도와 중요도 수준에 대한 인식이 대부분 높게 나타났다. 그러나 공동보존서고 설치 및 운영 항목, 청·장년층을 대상으로 한 취·창업 지원 프로그램, 학부모 자원봉사자 활성화 항목 등은 추진 정도와 중요도가 모두 낮게 나타났다. 이를 바탕으로 정책과제는 4대 추진전략 아래 10개 정책과제, 28개 실행과제를 제안하였다.

Effects of Educational and Cultural Facilities on Housing Prices in Seoul from an Accessibility Perspective

  • Background and objective: A great deal of previous research has highlighted the value of educational and cultural facilities embedded in housing prices, by taking a large spatial area as the focus, such as the city or district level. However, few studies have investigated the extent to which educational and cultural facilities influence the formation of housing prices from an accessibility perspective. This study aims to identify the value of educational and cultural facilities embedded in the housing prices in Seoul Metropolitan City with a focus on the concept of the residents' neighbourhood and accessibility. Methods: To this end, this research used a spatial regression model with educational and cultural facilities as the independent variables and housing prices as the dependent variable. The model assessed the accessibility of cultural and educational facilities by considering geographic effects. Results: The findings are as follows. First, the spatial error model was found to be the best fit for multi-unit housing, while the spatial lag model was more appropriate for single-unit housing and apartments. Second, private educational facilities and art museums had positive effects on single- and multi-unit housing prices, while historical sites had a negative effect. Finally, private educational facilities positively influenced apartment prices, whereas public libraries and urban park areas had a negative effect. Conclusion: These findings indicate that the accessibility of educational and cultural facilities reflects residents' preferences and needs, which will ultimately influence housing prices.
