  • Recently the arson crime is increased remarkably in comparison with different violent crimes and the pace of increase is very quick. But Social interest about the crime is still slight, it is a fact that the scientific and professional approaches about the crime is insufficient. This problem causes lower arrest rate of the arson crime than the other crime. So, we need to infer the behavior of a arsonist at the crime scene and analyze the profile and psychological state of the suspect from unique point at the crime scene scientifically and professionally. After arresting the arsonist, we interviewed him and compared a product of interview with our analysis previous to arrest.

  • This, an association research for design-improvement and model-development of exhibition shops at rural tourism communities, is to secure objective data by analyzing customers' awareness-tendency of and demand for agricultural-specialty exhibition shops. Survey-questions for finding out consumers' awareness-tendency and demand were determined through brainstorming of a professional council, 30 rural communities of which visit-rate by consumers is considerably high were selected for the recruit of 200 consumers. For investigation and analysis, survey and in-depth interview were carried out at the scene with the application of frequency analysis and summarization of their opinions, which revealed that they have a strong will to visit the rural tourism communities for the purchase of agricultural specialties along with the experience of learning-program and on-the-scene direct dealing and that their viewpoint on the direct dealing at the scene was very positive. Also it was confirmed hat their satisfaction with the purchase of agricultural specialties by on-the-scene direct dealing, their pleasure at the purchase, their satisfaction with services and their intention for re-purchase of them were very high while their satisfaction with the exhibition shops was very low. With on-the-scene survey, the consumers' opinions could be listened to in depth. Almost all of them said their satisfaction with the trip to those rural tourism communities was considerably high since they could go to those communities themselves to relieve the stress from their modern life, to experience healing and to see the goods on the scene. Their satisfaction also was attributed to the fact that they have enough trust in purchase along with feeling the warm-heartedness of rural residents. As to their awareness of exhibition shops, they showed a positive response to the on-the-scene direct dealing at rural communities while they, thinking that the space in those exhibition shops was not sufficiently wide, demanded for more systematic counters in more accessible and affordable exhibition shops so that they might be more satisfied with the exhibition shops. Their demand for the necessity of exhibition shops selling agricultural specialties was found to be over 80%, which indicates that the necessity is very high. As to the suitability of function, they have the opinion that the business at those shops had better be focused on sales since they have the understanding of information when they take a trip to the rural communities, while there was another opinion: since agricultural products are seasonal items they should be exhibited and sold at the same time. More than 90% of the respondents had a positive viewpoint on direct dealing of agricultural specialties on the scene, which showed that their response to it was very high. They preferred the permanent shops equipped with roll-around table-booths. In addition, it was revealed that they want systematic exhibition shops in rural communities because they frequent those communities for on-the-scene direct purchase. The preferred type and opinion resulting from estimation of consumers' demands have been reflected for development of practical designs. The structure of variable principles has been designed so that the types of display-case and table-booth might be created. The result of this study is a positive data as a design model which can be utilized at rural communities and will be commercialized for the verification of its validity.

  • In order to generate a photo-realistic synthesized image, we should reconstruct light environment by 3D analysis of scene. This paper presents a novel method for identifying the positions and characteristics of the lights-the global and local lights-in the real image, which are used to illuminate the synthetic objects. First, we generate High Dynamic Range(HDR) radiance map from omni-directional images taken by a digital camera with a fisheye lens. Then, the positions of the camera and light sources in the scene are identified automatically from the correspondences between images without a priori camera calibration. Types of the light sources are classified according to whether they illuminate the whole scene, and then we reconstruct 3D illumination environment. Experimental results showed that the proposed method with distributed ray tracing makes it possible to achieve photo-realistic image synthesis. It is expected that animators and lighting experts for the film and animation industry would benefit highly from it.

  • In Augmented Reality, it needs restoration and tracking of a real-time scene structure for the augmented 3D model from input video or images. Most of the previous approaches construct accurate 3D models in advance and try to fit them in real-time. However, it is difficult to measure 3D model accurately and requires long pre-processing time to construct exact 3D model specifically. In this research, we suggest a real-time scene structure analysis method for the wide indoor mobile augmented reality, using only generic models without exact pre-constructed models. Our approach reduces cost and time by removing exact modeling process and demonstrates the method for restoration and tracking of the indoor repetitive scene structure such as corridors and stairways in different scales and details.

  • Middle- and old-aged driver's capability in recognition for driving scene elements was compared. Central and ambient stimuli were selected from natural driving scene and sensitivity, bias and reaction time were measured as dependent measures. The results are as follows. First, in general, older drivers showed lower sensitivity than middle-aged drivers. In particular, the older drivers' sensitivity was significantly lower for the ambient stimuli than central stimuli, whereas the middle-aged drivers showed no significant difference between the two types of stimuli. Second, the older drivers tended to show more lenient responses whereas the middle-aged drivers responded more conservatively. Third, the older drivers showed longer reaction time than the middle-aged drivers, in particular, in the responses of miss and correct rejection. This results suggested that the older drivers' retention for driving scene elements in their working memory may not be stable, which can be resulted in difficulties in rapid and accurate responses in a real life driving.

  • The paper presents a method to detect dissolve shots of video scene change detections in an MPEG compressed domain. The proposed algorithm uses color-R DCT coefficients of Ⅰ, P-frames for a fast operation and accurate detection and a minimum decoding process in MPEG sequences. The paper presents a method to detect dissolve shot for three-dimensional visualization and analysis of Image in order to recognize easily in computer as a human detects accurately shots of scene change. First, Color-R DCT coefficients for 8*8 units are obtained and the features are summed in a row. Second, Four-step analysis are Performed for differences of the sum in the frame sequences. The experimental results showed that the algorithm has better detection performance, such as precision and recall rate, than the existing method using an average for all DC image by performing four step analysis. The algorithm has the advantage of speed, simplicity and accuracy. In addition. it requires less amount of storage.

  • New trend called ubiquitous leads the recent business by standardization and integration. It should be the main issue how to guarantee the integration and accountability on each business, especially in mission critical system which is mainly supported by M2M (Machine to Machine) control mechanism. This study is from the analysis of digital forensics case study that is from the M2M Sensing Control Mechanism problem of the "Imjin River" case in 2009, where a group of family is swept away to death by water due to M2M control error. The ubiquitous surroundings bring the changes in the field of criminal investigation to real time controls such as M2M systems. The needs of digital forensics on M2M control are increasing on every crime scene but we suffer from the lack of control metrics to get this done efficiently. The court asks for more accurately analyzed results accounting high quality product development design. Investigators in the crime scene need real-time analysis against the crime caused by poor quality of mission critical systems. It seems to be every need of Real-Time-Enterprise, so called ubiquitous society on the case. We try to find the efficiency and productivity in discovering non-functional design defects in M2M convergence products focusing on three metrics in study model with quick implementation. Digital forensics system in present status depends on know-how of each investigator and is hard to expect professional analysis on every field. This study set up a hypothesis "Co-working of professional investigators on each field will qualify Performance and Integrity" especially in mission critical system such as M2M and suggests "Online co-work analysis model" to efficiently detect and prevent mission critical errors in advance. At the conclusion, this study proved the statistical research that was surveyed by digital forensics specialists around M2M crime scene cases with quick implementation of dash board.

  • This paper proposes a CAE data translation and visualization technique that can verify time-varying continuous analysis simulation in a virtual reality (VR) environment. In previous research, the use of CAE analysis data has been problematic because of the lack of any interactive simulation controls for visualizing continuous simulation data. Moreover, the research on post-processing methods for real-time verification of CAE analysis data has not been sufficient. We therefore propose a scene graph based visualization method and a post-processing method for supporting interoperability of continuous CAE analysis data. These methods can continuously visualize static analysis data independently of any timeline; it can also continuously visualize dynamic analysis data that varies in relation to the timeline. The visualization system for continuous simulation data, which includes a CAE middleware that interfaces with various formats of CAE analysis data as well as functions for visualizing continuous simulation data and operational functions, enables users to verify simulation results with more realistic scenes. We also use the system to do a performance evaluation with regard to the visualization of continuous simulation data.
