  • Optical tweezers는 광압(radiation pressure)을 사용하여 입자들을 포획하거나 조절할 수 있다는 점에서 마이크로스케일의 유전체구뿐만 아니라 세포에서도 널리 사용되고 있다. 일반적으로 빛이라는 것은 광자들의 집합체로서 광자의 입자성으로 인하여 외부의 물체와 충돌시 운동량을 전달하게 되고 이것을 광압(radiation pressure)이라고 하며 optical tweezers [1]는 이 광압을 이용한 방법중 하나이다. 레이저빔을 입자에 집속 시켜 주게 되면 입자는 광압에 의해서 gradient force와 scattering force의 힘을 받게 된다. The Analytical Transfer Matrix Method Combined with Supersymmetry: Coulomb Potential

  • Combining the analytical transfer matrix method with supersymmetry algebra, a new quantization condition is suggested. To demonstrate the efficiency of the new quantization condition, the eigenenergies of the Coulomb potential are analytically derived. The scattering-led phase shifts are also determined and they are the same for all Coulomb potential states. It is found that the new quantization condition is mathematically simple and exact.

  • Blasting method is used most engineering works for rock excavation. Blasting method is done much to upgrade of operation efficiency, contraction of construction period than other method. But blasting method happens damage by blasting vibration, nose and scattering. Therefore this study examined about effect, characteristic and application of Plasma method. To confirm effect measured vibration, noise and frequency, and analyzed data compare with general blasting.

  • A seeder monitoring system was developed to remove the uneasiness of mis-sowing that drop operations efficiency at sowing-work and to make reliable and stable work. The objectives of this study are to investigate that the system developed is applicable to sowing soybean seeds and scattering fertilizer and to evaluate performance of the system developed through the indoor test and the indoor test and the field test before it is propelled to put the system developed to practical use.

  • In this paper, we develop 3-dimensional FMM using the RWG basis function to simulate the plat-type antenna and reduce the computing time. To examine the efficiency of FMM algorithm, a scattering by a simple PEC plane is analysed and the correct current distribution is obtained. This 3-dimensional FMM is applied to analysis a microstrip antenna and shows good performance.

  • The hybrid structured photo-electrode for dye-sensitized solar cells was fabricated based on the composites of $TiO_2$ nanoparticles and nanowires. Three samples with different hybrid structures were prepared with 17 vol%, 43 vol%, and 100 vol% nanowires. The energy conversion efficiency was enhanced from 5.54% for pure nanoparticle cells to 6.01% for the hybrid structure with 17 vol% nanowires. For the hybrid structured layers with high nanowires concentration (43 vol% and 100 vol%), the efficiency decreased with the nanowire concentration, because of the decrease of specific surface area, and of thus decreased current density. The random orientations of $TiO_2$ nanowires can be preserved by the doctor blade process, resulted in the enhanced efficiency. The hybrid structured $TiO_2$ layer can possess the advantages of the high surface area of nanoparticles and the rapid electron transport rate and the light scattering effect of nanowires.

  • The method of moments has been widely used in the analysis of TM scattering problems. Recently, significant advances in the development of fast and efficient techniques for solving large problems have been reported. In such methods, iterative matrix solvers are preferred by virtue of their speed and low memory requirements. But for near resonant and strong multiple scattering problems, e.g., involving an aircraft engine inlet, a large number of iterations is required for convergence. In this paper, an efficient approximate inverse based preconditioner is used to reduce this number of iterations. By using the matrix partitioning method, the computational is used to reduce this number of iterations. By using the matrix partitioning method, the computational cost for obtaining the approximate inverse is reduced to O(N). We apply this preconditioner to an O(NlogN) algorithm, the multilevel fast multipole algorithm, for the aircraft engine inlet problem. The numerical results show the efficiency of this preconditioner.

  • An numerical technique of impedance boundary condition to improve an efficiency in the process of moment method with CFIE(Combined Field Integral Equation), which is widely used to analyze the scattering property of dielectric scatterers, and results of its cross-validations are presented in this study. Application of the impedance boundary allows to represent the equivalent surface currents of dielectric scatterer depicted by both kinds of electric/magnetic surface currents(Js, Ms) to the single surface current by Js or Ms only. Accuracy of this technique is validated by the existing CFIE and theoretical values such as Mie-series solution and small perturbation scattering model. The computational difference of less than 1 dB was verified within an imaginary part of dielectric constant more than 12, as well.

  • This paper presents a study of laser output characteristics. We fabricated a MOPA (master oscillator power amplifier)-type high-power, narrowbandwidth fiber laser with a bidirectional pumping configuration in its main amplifier. As signal beams, light sources with bandwidths of 3 GHz and 10 GHz-phase-modulated through a PRBS (pseudo-random binary sequence)-were used interchangeably. Furthermore, the characteristics of the SBS (stimulated Brillouin scattering) were analyzed using a signal beam with 3 GHz bandwidth, by adjusting the forward to backward pumppower ratio. Moreover, the characteristics of the transverse mode instability were analyzed by adjusting the forward to backward pump-power ratio, using a signal beam with 10-GHz bandwidth. Finally, the output power from 10 GHz bandwidth was amplified to more than 1 kW using a forward to backward pump-power ratio of 1.6. The beam quality M2 was measured to be approximately 1.36, and the optical-to-optical efficiency was 80% at maximum output power.

Study of Monitoring Parameters for Coherent Beam Combination through Fourier-domain Analysis of the Speckle Image (스펙클 이미지의 푸리에 공간 분석을 통한 결맞음 빔결합 상태 모니터링 변수 도출)

  • We analyze the characteristics of the coherent beam combination of lasers by monitoring the speckle pattern of the beam reflected from a scattering medium. Three collimated laser sources with high coherence are focused on a scattering target using a lens, and we then examine the speckle pattern of the returned beam in the Fourier domain. We observe that the size of the speckle pattern changes, depending on the focused-beam size or degree of spatial overlap of the three beams. Furthermore, through Fourier-domain analysis of the speckle pattern we obtain the monitoring variable to qualify the efficiency of the coherent beam combination.
