측정 온도 변화에 따른 백금실리사이드 정류성 접합의 파라미터 분석 (Parameter Analysis of Platinum Silicide Rectifier Junctions acceding to measurement Temperature Variations)

  • 본 논문에서는, 백금 실리사이드와 실리콘 접합에서 n형 실리콘 기판의 농도와 온도 변화(상온, 55$^{\circ}C$, 75$^{\circ}C$)에 따라서 전류-전압 특성을 분석하였다. 측정한 전기적 파라미터들은 순방향 임계전압, 역방향 항복전압, 장벽높이(øbn), 포화전류, 이상인자와 동적저항의 변화이다. 결과로써, 기판 농도의 변화에 따라서는 순방향 임계전압, 역방향 항복전압, 장벽 높이, 동적저항은 감소하였으나 포화전류와 이상인자는 증가하였다. 온도 변화에 따라서는 역방향 항복전압과 동적저항이 증가하였다.

Resonance Investigation and Active Damping Method for VSC-HVDC Transmission Systems under Unbalanced Faults

  • Grid unbalanced faults can cause core saturation of power transformer and produce lower-order harmonics. These issues increase the electrical stress of power electronic devices and can cause a tripping of an entire HVDC system. In this paper, based on the positive-sequence and negative-sequence impedance model of a VSC-HVDC system as seen from the point of common connection (PCC), the resonance problem is analyzed and the factors determining the resonant frequency are obtained. Furthermore, to suppress over-voltage and over-current during resonance, a novel method using a virtual harmonic resistor is proposed. The virtual harmonic resistor emulates the role of a resistor connected in series with the commutating inductor without influencing the active and reactive power control. Simulation results in PSCAD/EMTDC show that the proposed control strategy can suppress resonant over-voltage and over-current. In addition, it can be seen that the proposed strategy improves the safety of the VSC-HVDC system under unbalanced faults.

자속 포화에 의한 PMSM 센서리스 위치 추정 오차 분석 및 보상 기법 (Analysis of Estimated Position Error by Magnetic Saturation and Compensating Method for Sensorless Control of PMSM)

  • For a pump or a compressor motor, a high periodic load torque variation is induced by the mechanical works, and it causes system vibration and noise. To minimize these problems, load torque compensation method, injecting periodic torque current, could be utilized. However, with the sensorless control method, which is usually utilized in the pump and compressor for low cost, the periodic torque current degrades the accuracy of the rotor position estimation owing to the inductance variation. This paper analyzes the rotor position and speed estimation error of sensorless control method with constant motor parameters under period loading. Assuming the constant speed by the accurate load torque compensation, the speed error equation is derived in frequency domain with inductance depending on the stator current. Further, it is also shown that the rotor position error could be minimized by compensating the inductance variation. The simulation and experimental results verify that the derived speed error model and the validity of the inductance compensation method.

Modified-Current-Differential Relay for Transformer Protection

  • During magnetic inrush or over-excitation, saturation of the core in a transformer draws a significant exciting current, which can cause malfunction of a current-differential relay. This paper proposes a modified-current-differential relay for transformer protection. The relay calculates the core-loss current from the induced voltage and the core-loss resistance as well as the magnetizing current from the core flux and the magnetization curve. Finally, the relay obtains the modified differential current by subtracting the core-loss and the magnetizing currents from the conventional differential current. A comparative study of the conventional differential relay with harmonic blocking is presented. The proposed relay not only discriminates magnetic inrush and over-excitation from an internal fault, but also improves the relay speed.

  • SRM의 구동에 있어 전류정격은 스위칭 소자의 정격과 직결되고 경제적인 측면에서 적은 정격전류 스위칭 소자를 이용하여 구동하기 위해서는 스위칭 소자의 병력운전이 필수적이다. 스위칭 소자의 병렬 운전시 스위칭 소자의 전류분담을 균일하기 위해서 제조업체의 기술자료를 중심으로 많은 연구가 이루어졌으나, 아직도 실용화하기 위해서는 많은 문제를 앉고 있다. 스위칭 소자의 병력운전은 스위치의 특성 즉, 전류에 대한 상이한 포화전압이 그 근본적인 원인이 되고 있다. 이를 보상하기 위해서 스위칭 소자에 직렬로 적당한 저항값을 삽입하는 방법이 있지만 이 방법은 근본적인 대책이 될 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 스위칭 소자의 포화전압과 같은 파라메터가 전류분담에 영향을 미치지 않는 새로운 병렬운전기법인 상권선 병력운전기법 제안하였다.

  • A novel model of an inductive superconducting fault current limiter with an inductive superconducting fault current limiter with the air-gap core was fabricated and tested. If its impedance is not high enough to limit the fault current, then destructive damage occurs in the power system. We attained a magnetic saturation under higher current by an effective air gap introduced in the core. The fault current was successfully limited to two times as much as the nominal current at a 60 Hz source having an effective voltage of 70 V. The fault current flowing under such conditions can be limited to a desired value without any fault current peak within 1/4 cycles.

765kV 비연가 송전계통 과도 특성에 관한 고찰 (A Study on the Transient Characteristics in 765kV Untransposed Transmission Systems)

  • This paper describes a study of transient characteristics in 765kV untransposed transmission lines. As the 765(kV) system can carry bulk power, some severe fault on the system nay cause large system disturbance. The large shunt capacitance and small resistance of 765kv transmission line make various difficulties for its protection. These problems including current difference between sending and receiving terminals on normal power flow, low order harmonic current component in fault current and current transformer saturation due to the long DC time constant of the circuit etc. must be investigated and solved. The analysis of transient characteristics at sending terminal has been carried out for the single phase to ground fault and 3-phase short fault, etc. The load current, charging current in normal condition and line flows, fault current, THD(Total Harmonic Distortion) of harmonics, time constants have been analysed for the 765kV untransposed transmission line systems.

ESS 연계용 변압기의 결선방식 및 철심구조에 따른 순환전류와 포화특성에 관한 연구 (Characteristics of Saturation and Circulating Current Based on Winding and Iron Core Structure of Grid-connected Transformer in Energy Storage System)

  • 2017년 8월에 발생한 고창 전력시험센터를 시작으로, 현재까지 총 29건의 전기저장장치 화재가 발생하여 많은 재산피해가 보고되고 있다. 이에 대한 원인은 아직 정확하게 규명되지 않았으나, ESS(energy storage system)와 전력변환장치뿐만 아니라, 계통측 불평형 문제도 하나의 원인으로 고려되어야 할 것으로 보인다. 특히, 연계용변압기측의 순환전류가 자화전류에 영향을 미쳐, 의도치 않게 변압기의 철심이 포화되고 서지전압이 발생하여 ESS에 영향을 줄 수 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 부하불평형에 의한 불평형전류 발생시, ESS 연계용변압기로 순환전류의 유입과 변압기 포화로 인한 서지전압 발생 현상을 해석하기 위하여, PSCAD/EMTDC를 이용한 배전용변전소, 연계용변압기 및 수용가부하로 구성된 배전계통의 모델링을 수행한다. 또한, 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여, 중성점 접지 저항기(neutral grounding resistor, NGR)를 통해 순환전류의 크기를 일정 값 이내로 저감시키는 방안을 제시하였다. 이를 바탕으로 시뮬레이션을 수행한 결과, 연계용변압기의 결선방식 및 철심구조에 따라 일정 값(10[A]) 이상의 순환전류가 발생하여, ESS에 전기적인 위해 요인이 될 수 있음을 알 수 있었고, 변압기 포화로 인해 2차측에 최대 3[pu]의 서지전압이 발생될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • Increase of gate leakage current causes decrease of gain and increase of noise. In this paper, gate leakage current of GaAs MESEFTs' has been traced with different temperatures from $27^{\circ}C\;to\;350^{\circ}C$ to obtain the zero voltage saturation current $J_s$ which is critical to the temperature dependency of total current. From the results, thermal leakage current coefficient has been proposed to compensate for the total current due to the thermionic emission, tunneling, generation and/or hole injection.
