Importance-Performance Analysis for the Quality Improvement of Forest Experience Education for Vulnerable Social Groups (사회취약계층의 숲체험교육 질적향상 방안을 위한 중요도-만족도 분석)

  • This study aimed to improve the level of satisfaction and service quality of a forest experience education program for vulnerable social groups by administering a survey problems of the program and suggested improvements. 428 participants in the program. Reliability analysis of the survey yielded values of, Cronbach's α value was higher than 0.8 for all items, indicating very high reliability. Importance-performance analysis (IPA), a method of measuring and comparing the degree of satisfaction, found two factors: "first need for correction" which included "diversity of programs" and "professionalism of programs"; and "the need for sustained effort" which included "benefits of programs", "the role of program instructors" and "the interest of programs". Previously, forest experience education focused on programs involving base expansion and promotion, or quantitative expansion education. Therefore, this study is meaningful in providing basic data on forest experience education for vulnerable social groups.

A Study of Job Satisfaction of the Nurses in a University Hospital (일대학 부속병원 간호사의 직무만족도에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to describe and analyze about the degree of job satisfaction of nurses in a university hospital for basic data to develop the professionals and improve productivities, effectiveness in nursing practice. Methods: Design was the descriptive survey study. Sample were 97 nurses in K university hospital, and convenient sampling was used. Measures were job satisfaction of nurse for job satisfaction tool modified by Kim, S.N.(1998) and developed by Slavitt(1978). Data were collected from April 2005 to June 2005, and analyzed using SPSS PC+12 program. Descriptive statistics was used for general characteristics and characteristics related to job. F-test, t-test, and X2 test were used for verification of differences. Results: 1. Scores in categories of job satisfaction were ranked for professional position(3.25), interpersonal relationship(3.19), autonomy(3.08), necessary job(2.88), payment and promotion(2.79), and administration(2.50) in order. 2. There were significant differences in age(F=3.343, p=.040) and satisfaction for current job(F=10.331, p=.000) in differences of job satisfaction by general characteristics and characteristics related to job. Conclusions: On the findings, authors suggest that more opportunities for direct nursing practice, appropriate time for the practice, and the intervention improving satisfaction for current job are needed to improve job satisfaction.

A Study on Development of Child-care Program - on the Basis of Mothers' Demands - (바람직한 보육프로그램 개발을 위한 기초조사 - 어머니의 요구를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide data for development of child-care programs. For this purpose, mothers' demands were investigated. The subjects included 403 mothers with children enrolled in child-care centers located in Yangju city, Gyeonggi-do. The data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, cross tabs, t-test, and F-test. The major findings of this study were as follows: First, satisfaction with child-care centers was positive. Second, the major reasons for dissatisfaction with child-care centers came from facilities and program contents of inferior quality. Third, mothers emphasized the importance of teachers' role and social-emotional development as quality criteria for child-care programs. There were differences in mothers' demands according to their demographic characteristics.

A Study of AI Education Program Based on Big Data: Case Study of the General Education High School (빅데이터 기반 인공지능 교육프로그램 연구: 일반계 고등학교 사례를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this research is to develop a creative education program that utilizes AI education program based on big data for general education high schools, and to investigate its effectiveness. In order to achieve the purpose of the research, we developed a creative education program using artificial intelligence based on big data for first-year general high school students, and carried out on-site classes at schools and a validation process by experts. In order to measure the creative problem-solving ability and class satisfaction of high school students, a creative problem-solving ability test was conducted before and after the program application, and a class satisfaction test was conducted after the program. The results of this study are as follows. First, AI education program based on big data were statistically effective to improve the creative problem solving ability according to independent sample t test about 'problem discovery and analysis', 'idea generation', 'execution plan', 'conviction and communication', and 'innovation tendency' except 'execution', 'the difference between pre- and post-scores of male student and female student' on first year high school students. Secondly, in satisfaction conducted after classes of AI education program based on big data, the average of 'Satisfaction', 'Interest', 'Participation', 'Persistence' were 3.56 to 3.92, and the overall average was 3.78. Therefore, it was investigated that there was a lesson effect of the AI education program based on big data developed in this research.

An Effect of Health Promotion Program on Health Behavior, Perceived health Status and Life Satisfaction in the Elderly (건강증진프로그램이 노인의 건강행위, 지각된 건강상태 및 생활만족도에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: This study is designed to develop a health promotion program for improvement of health status by means of a change of life-style and health behavior in the elderly. The purpose of this study is to provide a basis for nursing intervention strategies to promote health behaviors. Method: The health promotion program consisted of health education, group discussion, emotional support, health and telephone counsel. As a quasi-experimental design, the none-quivalent control group pretest-posttest design was utilized for this study. The subjects of this study consisted of 50 people, over 60 years of age attending 2 senior colleges in S city. They were divided into two groups: 24 in the experimental group and 26 in the control group. Data was collected from July 2, 2001 to August 21, 2001. For the analysis, SPSS PC 10.0 Window version was adopted and descriptive analysis, χ2test, t-test, paired t-test, MANOVA were used for data analysis. Result: The health behavior and life satisfaction of the elderly improved significantly (F=18.305, p=.000 ; F=17.478, p=.000). But there is no significant difference in the perceived health status(F=3.807, p=.057). Conclusion: The health promotion program is confirmed as proper to promote the health in the elderly. In addition, assessment and support will be simultaneously done to manage the health of the elderly. Finally this study supports intervention for the elderly and provides a basis for further investigations.

Factors that Affect Employee Satisfaction according to Hospital Size and Job Group (병원규모 및 직종별 종업원 만족도 영향요인)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine the factors that affect employee satisfaction according to hospital size, job group and career at hospitals. Methods : Data were collected from 4,307 employees working at 5 university hospitals. Statistics were done with the SPSS program version 21.0. Results : There were significant differences in employee satisfaction according to hospital size, job group and career. Additionally, there were positive correlations between each of the factors for employee satisfaction and overall employee satisfaction. Multiple regression analysis showed that overall employee satisfaction was affected by factors such as job, communication, personnel and leadership according to hospital size, job group and career. Conclusions : The results of this study suggest that by identifying the differences in satisfaction of employees who are working in different circumstances and providing resources to satisfy employee needs, hospital employers can promote the growth of the hospital by reducing employee turnover.

  • An Intergenerational Horticultural Program in a rural community in Korea was tried out to enhance social interaction between elderly citizens and children, to promote the positive self-esteem of the elderly in a rural community, to change the attitude of children towards the elderly, and to create a rural community full of vitality. The clients were 20 elderly (60-80 years old) and 40 preschool children (6-7 years old). The activities in this program included seed of hope, round autumn garden, dish garden, in the vegetable patch, flower decoration for the Chuseok Festival, rainbow flower basket, heart card, fragrance of love, and a kimchi party. The results were a decrease in depression among the elderly from 44.0% to 33.7%. General satisfaction among the elderly was 100%. The desire to rejoin among the elderly was 100%. General satisfaction among the children was 100%. The desire to rejoin among the children was 93.5%.

Effect of Learner's Motivation on Professional Development in Vocational Education of Clothing Manufacturing (의류제조 직업능력개발교육 학습자의 학습참여동기가 교육 및 취업서비스만족도와 직업능력개발성과에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigated how learning motivation affects satisfaction with training and employment services and its performance for participants in government-supported job skill development program of the clothing industry so as to provide fundamental data for developing a training program that fosters professionals and relieves the labor shortage in the clothing industry. 180 copies of questionnaires were statistically analyzed by SPSSWIN 21.0. Most trainees were low-income citizens in their 40s and 50s. They were divided into highly educated or low-educated. The results of the research are as follows: when the trainees were motivated by the goals of getting a certificate or a job, employment service satisfaction levels were influenced meaningfully. Secondly, educational satisfaction levels and occupational ability development also scored highly. Therefore, it is important to strengthen instructors' competency. Instructors must be required to have onsite experience so that they can provide authentic education that can be applied to the work field. The government should establish a compulsory training session for the trainers along with an incentive program so that they can catch up with up-to-date technology and trend. Third, the research shows that supporting business startup and job placement is important. Follow-up management systems should be provided in cooperation with relevant institutions of employment and business startups. Either outsourcing or placement of professional advisors is also needed.

Effects of a Strengthening Program for Lower Back in Older Women with Chronic Low Back Pain (만성요통 여성노인에 대한 요부강화 프로그램의 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify effects of a strengthening program for the lower back in older women with chronic low back pain. Methods: The research design was a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest experiment. The experimental group consisted of 16 older women and the control group, 14, all of whom had experienced low back pain for at least 3 months. The strengthening program for the lower back included lumbar stabilization exercises and education on pain management in daily living. For an 8 week period, exercises were done 3 days a week and on one day education was also given. Results: Pain and disability scores decreased significantly in the experimental group compared to the control group. Flexibility, life satisfaction and lumbar muscle strength scores increased significantly in the experimental group compared to the control group. Conclusion: Low back pain and disability can be relieved, and flexibility, muscle strength, and life satisfaction increased through a program to strengthen the lower back. It is suggested that a program to strengthen the lower back would be an effective nursing intervention for older women with low back pain.

The Development of a Measurement Tool for Educational Satisfaction of Sport Ethics Program (스포츠윤리교육 프로그램의 교육만족도 측정도구 개발)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a measurement tool for education satisfaction of sport ethics program and to verify its validity. To achieve this goal, 3 steps of experimental processes were carried out. In the first step, the pilot questionnaires was created on the basis of previous researches regarding sport ethics education, education satisfaction, and response assessment. In the second process, as a pilot survey step, construct validity was obtained through exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis of the measure constructed by the first process. In the third process, as a main survey step, external validity was obtained through difference verification, then questionnaires were constructed based on the analyzed contents. As a result of these steps, a measurement tool for educational satisfaction of sport ethics program composed of 17 questionnaires was developed. It consists of education contents (6), instructor competency (5), and education effect (6).
