1. Objectives This study is about three cerebellar infarction patients with dizziness and ataxia. In this study, we evaluated the effects of Sasang constitutional treatment and suggested using the 'Equilibrium Function Test' as scale. 2. Methods These three patients were treated by Sasang constitutional herbal medications based on "Donguisusebowon". Acupuncture & moxa therapy and west medications were limited as much as possible. We evaluated the symptoms through two methods, the Visual Analogue Scale and the Equilibrium Function Test. 3. Results and Conclusions Dizziness and ataxia that were these three patients' chief complaints were improved. This case study shows that Sasang constitutional herbal medications are an effective treatment for cerebellar infarction patients.

We analyzed 44 and 16 types of herbal medicines for Taeumin and Taeyangin, clinically applied in Dongyisoosebowon. In order to discover the standard of herbal classification for the Sasang constitutions, four concepts of Sasang Medicine were applied. These included 'Sadangron (theory of four groups)', 'Seungganggaehap (ascending-descending and gathering-dispersing)', 'Pyorihanyoul (exterior-interior and hot-cold)',and 'Hyungchiaekmi (fragrance, smell, bodily fluid and taste)'. According to these analyzing methods of herbal properties, we have reached the following conclusions: Herbal medicines for 'Taeumin' are characterized by opening energetics that reinforce dispersing Qi. The 'Exterior cold disease' is treated with herbs that ventilate the lungs and disperse dampness in three ways: by moistening the lungs, by releasing exterior, and by resolving dampness. The 'Interior heat disease' is treated with herbs that clear the liver and disperse heat in two ways. One by clearing liver heat through dispersing damp-heat of the small intestine and the other by opening orifices. Herbal medicines for Taeyangin are characterized by those that gather energy inward. They include herbs that treat beriberi, dystrophy of the extremities and vomiting, as well as, fish, shellfish, fruits and vegetable.

1. Objectives Constipation is a common symptom affecting 16.5% of general population in Korean countries. However, many people are looking for constipation due to the hospital. The clinical studies in herbal medicine to cure rectal tenesmus and constipation caused by the stress of the case. 2. Methods We have tried researching effect of herbal medicines(Chungpyesagan - tang and kalkunseunggi-tang) treatments to Stress caused by Taeumin rectal tenesmus and constipation patient. 3. Results A Taeumin patient diagnosed to rectal tenesmus and constipation was treated with Taeumin herbal medicines (Kalkunseunggi - tang treatments) and change of patient's the feces number of times and abdomen discomfort were improved. 4. Conclusions The cause of constipation variety as was treatments is various. The constitutional treatment with Kalkunseunggi - tang may have an effect on management of constipation. So we report the healing process and results of this patient in this study.

Objective We report a case about a Soyangin patient with diabetic neuropathy. His symptoms were alleviated with Sasang Constitutional medicine. Methods A Soyangin patient with diabetic neuropathy was treated by herbal medicine, acupuncture, pharmacopuncture according to Sasang Constitutional Medicine. The progress was evaluated with numerical rating scale(NRS) and blood sugar test(BST). Results Sasang Constitutional Medicine seems to be effective for the symtoms of the patient with diabetic neuropathy in this case. Conclusions This case study shows that Sasang Constitutional Medicine may be an effective treatment for Soyangin's diabetic neuropathy.

Objectives The purpose of this study was to review and evaluate the clinical evidence of the efficacy and safety of treatment based on Sasang constitutional medicine (SCM) for post-stroke patients by systematic review and meta-analysis. Methods Randomized controlled trials (RCTs), published in 10 electronic databases up to December 2020, were searched. For the included studies, Cochrane's risk of bias assessment was performed to analyze the methodological quality. The strength of evidence was evaluated using the grading of recommendations assessment, development, and evaluation system based on the results of analyses. All review processes were performed by two independent researchers. Results Five RCTs were finally included. All included RCTs were conducted for one month on post-stroke patients in 60-80s, four studies on Tae-Eum patients and one study on So-Yang patients. Four types of constitution-specific herbal medicine (Chungpyesagan-tang, Cheongsimsanyak-tang, Yeoldahanso-tang, and Yangkyuksanhwa-tang) and constitution-specific acupuncture therapy were identified as interventions. More than half of the included studies were evaluated as low quality due to the high-risk of bias in selection, performance, and detection. The combination of constitution-specific herbal medicine, acupuncture, and conventional treatment was more effective in improving the patients' motor impairment, dysphagia, aphasia, and depression than conventional treatment alone. No serious adverse events by SCM treatment were reported. Conclusions SCM treatment may improve the sequelae of post-stroke patients safely in combination with conventional treatment. Since the quality of clinical evidence included in this study was low, higher quality clinical evidence obtained in well-designed clinical studies will be needed.

Introduction Chronic idiopathic urticaria in patients diagnosed with an unfavorable pattern in Soyangin and Taeumin based on Sasang medicine showed a significant improvement after herbal medicine treatment. Methods The patients had treatment with both herbal medication and antihistamine. We checked the patients' cutaneous manifestation, original symptoms, and the number of antihistamine doses in each visit. We evaluated the medical records retrospectively. Results After one month of treatment, the patients showed cutaneous manifestation relief. Each patient reduced and withdrew antihistamine at four moths and eight months respectively, and the cutaneous manifestation did not recur. We maintained the herbal medicine prescription until the origin symptoms improved. Throughout the subsequent follow-up, the patients showed both urticaria and the original symptoms in good condition without treatment. Discussion Sasang medicine treatment can be an effective treatment for chronic idiopathic urticaria and long-term management is necessary for an unfavorable pattern which can take more than 6 months.

Objectives We surveyed clinical status of Sasang Constitutional Medicine (SCM) for preparation of adaptation of Clinical Practice Guidelines for Sasang Constitutional Symptomatology. Methods We emailed Google survey form to Doctors of Korean Medicine registered the Association of Korean Medicine on 10/13/2020 and 10/21/2020 and closed survey 10/23/2020. We got a data of 654 cases, removed a case of error, analyzed data of 620 responses by frequency analysis Results and Conclusions Out of 620 respondents, 499 have answered that they refer to or make use of SCM. SCM is mainly applied in the field of treatments using Herbal Medicine. Doctors of Korean Medicine participated in survey of SCM, they think Diseases of digestive system are the most effectively treated by the methods of SCM. Sasang Constitutional Symptomatology most frequently observed are Soeumin Congestive Hyperpsychotic symptomatology, Soyangin Chest-Heat congested Symptomatology, Taeeumin Liver Heat-based Interior Heat disease. The diseases that are mainly applied by SCM are 'Diseases of digestive system' for Soeumin, 'Diseases of digestive system' for Soyangin, 'Diseases of respiratory system' for Taeeumin and 'not applicable' for Taeyangin. The important diagnostic methods of SCM are Inspection-listening and smelling examination-Inquiry-Palpation and survey. In the majority of cases, Prescription of Herbal medicine is used by adding or subtracting some herbal medicine from the original prescription suggested in the oriental medical classics and Saam acupuncture method is the most frequently used for the acupuncture therapy. Diet therapy is the most frequently used for the method of prevention and care.

Objectives This study is to suggest the herbal bathing and the manual therapy with herbs for obesity patients according to the Sasang constitutional medicine. Methods In this study, first, we found the books, web sites and papers about bathing. And also we classified the herbs those are used each therapy according to the Sasang constitutional medicine theory. Results and Conclusions: We make good used of salts, sulfur or herbal agents inserted into a bath, when we are bathing. And we knew that "The Pinda manual therapy" is a therapy with medical herbs in the West. The Pinda manual therapy is a fomentation therapy with wrapped in cloth and steamed medical herbs. According to Sasang constitutional right to bath in each prescription were as follows. Taeeumin: Taeeumin Galgeunhaegi-tang. / Soyangin: Soyangin Hyeongbangpaedok-san. / Soeumin: Gunggwihyangso-san, Soeumin Kwakhyangjeonggi-san. / Taeyangin: Ogapijangchuk-tang. And also, by Sasang constitution, applicable herbs to the Pinda therapy were as follows. Taeeumin: Seokchangpo, Wonji, Gobon, Gamguk, Sokdan, Wiryeongseon.. / Soyangin: Hyeonggae, Bangpung, Bakha, Ganghwal, Dokhwal. / Soeumin: Kwakhyang, Soyeop, Danggwi, Cheongung, Sesin, Jinpi. / Taeyangin: Ogapi, Mokgwa, Nogeun, Gyomaek. It will be need to more study for effective clinical applications.

1. Objectives Hiccup is one of common symptoms clinically and caused by various etiologies. also Hiccup is common comlication in Stroke patient. We have tried researching effect of herbal medicines(Jowesungcheong-tang). 2. Methods To heal the hiccup concurred in Taeumin with stroke patient, we used Jowesungcheong-tang. 3. Results A Taeumin patient diagnosed to have hiccup was, treated with Taeumin herbal medicines(Jowesungcheong-tang), and change of patient's symptoms and general condition were improved. 4. Conclusions The constitutional treatment with Jowesungcheong-tang may have an effect on management of hiccup. So we report the healing process and results of this patient in this study.
