Abdominal distention is a common condition, which usually results from over-eating, rather than from a serious illness. Abdominal distention is often caused by intestinal gas. Abdominal distention may also occasionally result from the accumulation of fluid in the abdomen, which can be a sign of serious medical problems. This stroke patient has been abdominal distention without medical problems. So he was treated by Yuldahansotang(熱多寒少湯) and was improved not only activity daily life but also Abdominal distention.

1. Objectives: This purpose of this case is to report that a soeumin patient diagnosed as pleural effusion was treated with Sibimiguanjung-tang and then her symptoms and result of chest X-ray and R-lab improved 2. Methods: We diagnosed the patient as Soeumin-Taeum-byung(少陰人太陰病). So we treated her with Sibimiguanjung-tang 3. Results: After we treated the patient with Sibimiguanjung-tang, her symptoms and result of chest X-ray and R-lab improved 4. Conclusions: This case study show an efficient result of using Sibimiguanjung-tang in Soeumin diagnosed to pleural effusion.

Hydrocele is an accumulation of serous fluid greater in amount than the few drops normally present within the two layers of the tunica vaginalis. The most common type is simple hydrocele, in which the normally formed tunica vaginalis is distended with fluid. The case is a report about an old man with hydrocele. The hydrocele is founded by pelvis sono. Treatment was Herb-medication and rest. And the size of hydrocele and symptoms were reduced.

A 33-year-old woman diagnosed as livedo reticularis came to this hospital on October 14th, 1995. She complained of cold feet, ulceration on both ankles at the first OPD visit. We have diagnosed as 'Taeumin Ban-Chang-Byoung'. And we have applied acupunctures(Auricular Acupuncture + Acupuncture) and herb durgs. Auricular acu-points are Heart, Lungs, Shenmen, Adrenal. Herb drugs are Yuldahansotang or Chengpesagantang. After 3 treatments, she felt her feet warm. After 32 treatments, ulceration has disappeared. Even though we can't say that Ban-Chang-Byoung is livedo reticularis. But we can assume that two are related on the basis of the context of 'Dongyisoosebowon'.

Objectives The purpose of this study was to report the improvement of elderly patient's severe anorexia including low blood pessure and cold hypersensitivity of hands and feet after treatment with Osuyubujaijung-tang. Methods We retrospectively reviewed the medical records. This patient was diagnosed Soeumin lesser yin symptom according to Sasang constitutional medicine. He treated by Osuyubujaijung-tang. Results and Conclusions A patient with anorexia, low blood pressure, cold hypersensitivity of hands and feet, dizziness, general weakness showed the improvement of symptoms with treatment after Osuyubujaijung-tang.

A Case Study of the Shaoyangin Mangyin Improved with Hyeongbangjiwhang-tang Mangyin-disease is important syndrome in Shaoyangin' pathology taking diarrhea, general weakness. We treated a 28 years old female patient who complained general weakness, diarrhea, and weight loss She responded well to treatment with Hyeongbangjiwhang-tang . So report it.

Severe chronic coughing infrequently causes rib fractures and these fractures belong to Stress fracture and these rib fractures are given the term of "cough fractur". Cough fracture usually occurs in one rib and in the middle of the rib between the costochondral junction and the costal angle. The case is a report about a young woman with multiple rib fractures which were caused by severe coughing. The Chest PA and Rib series test were normal but Rib fractures were founded by Bone scan test. Treatment was Herb-medication, rest and restriction of work and symptoms were reduced.

1. Introduction This study aims to survey knowledge and attitude of Sasang constitution investigators on the Sasang constitution clinical study. 2. Methods We have made up list of 24 Sasang constitution investigators who have conducted Sasang constitution clinical study before. The study has been surveyed for 20 investigators who has been experiencing clinical study bye-mail or interview. 3. Results 1) The recognition degree on clinical study for sasang constitutional investigators was relatively lower than that for non-oriental investigators. 2) Most investigators have difficulty in designing a Protocol and they thought Protocol is most important in clinical study. 3) The investigators has stressed the need of diagnosis guideline on Sasang Constitution in performing clinical study. 4. Conclusions Special course of clinical study for sasang constitutional investigators should be prepared to activate Sasang constitution clinical study. This course may set up the guideline of sasang constitution clinical study and designing protocol. Also it is urgent to develop constitution diagnosis guideline for clinical study.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to know hematologic characteristics of patients with stroke in Sasang Constitutional Medicine which will be helpful for the prevention and treatment of stroke. Methods We collected data from 111 patients who received treatment as a stroke inpatient at one Korean medicine hospital in Busan, Korea. A Sasang Constitutional Medicine(SCM) specialist diagnosed their Sasang Constitutional types based on the four diagnosis standard of SCM and herbal medicine reaction. Results of hematologic tests were classified according to gender, age, stroke types and Sasang Constitutional types and analysed by SAS system. Results 1. Male's mean value of RBC count, Hemoglobin and Hematocrit was lower than normal range. 2. The mean value of hsCRP of above age 65 group was 3.19 times significantly higher than under age 65 group. 3. The mean value of platelet of cerebral hemorrhage group was significantly higher than cerebral infarction group. 4. The mean value of triglyceride of Taeeumin was significantly higher than Soyangin and Soeumin. Conclusions For the prevention of stroke, appropriate treatment of stress, trauma and infections is needed and male require a regular and balanced meals. Especially Taeeumin need to eat small meals to avoid excessive accumulation of energy.
