고령화 수준별 교통사고 심각성 분석 (Analysis of Traffic Accident Severity by Aging Level)

  • Korea has entered to 'aged society', which the elderly people over 65 years old is over 14% of total population. This paper aims to analyze the traffic accident by aging level. In pursuing the above, this paper focuses on modeling the traffic accident severity based on three aging levels. The main results are as follows. First, the ratio of fatal and serious injured persons (FSI) is judged to increase according to increasing aging level. Second, the null hypothesis that there is no difference in FSI among three aging levels (aging, aged, and super-aged) is rejected. Four accident severity generalized linear models which are all statistically significant have been developed. Third, the common variables are analyzed to be median age, the number of hospital beds per persons, and turn signal usage ratio. Fourth, the differentiated traffic safety policies fitted to aging levels are required. The enforcement of traffic law violation and safety enhancement of motorcycle in the region of 'aging society', improvement of traffic facilities in the region of 'aged society', and expansion of transportation facilities in the region of 'super-aged society' are evaluated to be indispensable.

HIGH COOLING WATER TEMPERATURE EFFECTS ON DESIGN AND OPERATIONAL SAFETY OF NPPS IN THE GULF REGION

  • The Arabian Gulf region has one of the highest ocean temperatures, reaching above 35 degrees and ambient temperatures over 50 degrees in the summer. Two nuclear power plants (NPP) are being introduced in the region for the first time, one at Bushehr (1,000 MWe PWR plant from Russia), and a much larger one at Barakah (4X1,400 MWe PWR from Korea). Both plants take seawater from the Gulf for condenser cooling, having to modify the secondary/tertiary side cooling systems design by increasing the heat transfer surface area from the country of origin. This paper analyses the secondary side of a typical PWR plant operating under the Rankine cycle with a simplified thermal-hydraulic model. Parametric study of ocean cooling temperatures is conducted to estimate thermal efficiency variations and its associated design changes for the secondary side. Operational safety is reviewed to deliver rated power output with acceptable safety margins in line with technical specifications, mainly in the auxiliary systems together with the cooling water temperature. Impact on the Gulf seawater as the ultimate heat sink is considered negligible, affecting only the adjacent water near the NPP site, when compared to the solar radiation on the sea surface.

공군 항공관제통합관리체계 내(內) 안전보고 사례분석을 통한 지역(기지)별 위해요인 식별 및 개선 연구 (A Study on the Identification and Improvement of Risk Factors by Region through Case analysis of Safety report in the ROKAF Integrated Air Conrtrol Management System)

  • 본 연구는 공군에서 운영되고 있는 "항공관제통합관리"체계 내 최근 추가된 항공안전관리시스템(SMS) 안전자율보고를 통해 접수된 안전보고 사례를 분석하여, 위해요인을 식별하고, 해당 지역(기지)별 개선사항을 제시하여, 향후 데이터 기반의 안전관리를 수행할 수 있는 기초를 마련하기 위함이다. 위해요인 식별을 위해 자율보고체계 내 16개로 분류된 데이터를 기반으로 1차적으로 기지별 분류를 하였고, 기종 및 기술된 내용을 기반으로 세부적으로 2차 분류하였다. 가장 많은 보고가 이루어진 관제협조(306건) 항목에 대하여 RCIAA(Reporting, Category, Identification, Analysis, and Action, 이하 RCIAA)과정(연구자 작성)을 거쳐 위해요인을 분석하였으며, 분석한 결과를 토대로 위해요인을 크게 정보 공유, 규정, 절차 교육·훈련 및 장비 항목으로 나누어 개선사항을 도출하였다. 위해요인 및 특정 개선사항이 기지별(12개) 로 상이함을 확인할 수 있었으며, 통계적 분석을 바탕으로 기지(지역)별 운항관제분야 안전관리의 방향을 제시할 수 있는 근거로 활용할 수 있다. 또한, 민(民)·군(軍)을 통틀어 특정 기지(지역)별 데이터 기반의 위해요인 분석 연구가 부족한 점에 비추어 볼 때 데이터를 기반으로 한 안전관리의 중요성을 재확인 할 수 있는 결과로 제시할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

짧은 균열의 정류거동 예측에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Prediction of Non-Propagating Behavior of Short Cracks)

  • Computer aided unloading elastic compliance method was employed to measure the closure and the length of short cracks. The most significant factor that influences the fatigue growth behavior of short cracks is the crack closure Phenomenon. dc/dN-$\Delta$ $K_{eff}$ relationships of short cracks are found to coincide well with the corresponding long crack relationships. Non-propagating behavior of short cracks at notch root can be predicted from the crack opening SIF of short cracks, $K_{op}$ , and the growth equation of long cracks in Region I and II.n Region I and II.I.

소방분야 종사자들의 안전의식에 관한 연구 - 충남지역 소방분야 종사자를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Safety Consciousness of Fire-fighting Sector Workers - Based on Fire-fighting Sector Workers in Chung-nam -)

  • 본 연구는 충남지역 소방분야종사자를 대상으로 일반안전, 생활안전 그리고 소방안전에 대한 의식조사를 목적으로 실시하였다. 연구는 설문조사로 진행되었으며 설문응답자는 소방공무원, 소방업체종사자, 안전관련 공무원 등 534명이다. 설문결과는 SPSS win 19.0을 사용하여 빈도분석 등의 통계처리를 하였다. 본 연구에서 설문의 신뢰도는 Cronbach' ${\alpha}=0.710{\sim}0.807$이다. 조사결과에 의하면 국민의 안전의식수준이 높다고 생각하는 응답자가 전체 응답자의 15%로 소방분야종사자들은 국민의 안전의식수준이 낮다고 인식하고 있었다. 소방안전의식에 대해 소방공무원은 5점 기준 4.2의 인식을 가지며, 안전관련 공무원은 3.59의 안전의식수준을 나타내고 있다. 안전의식수준은 소방공무원 > 소방업체종사자 > 안전관련 공무원 순으로 조사되었다. 조사결과에 의하면 안전에 대한 인식의 차이를 줄이기 위한 노력이 필요하다고 할 수 있다.

파랑과 해안구조물과의 상호작용에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Wave Interaction Due to Offshore Structures)

  • The present study is to investigate the effect of wave-structure interaction such as wave oscillation. The theoretical method is based upon the linear diffraction theory obtained by the boundary element method. The water depth and incident wave period in fluid region are assumed to be constant. To investigate the wave interaction due to offshore structures, the numerical program has been developed and the simulation has been carried out by varying the conditions of distance and width of offshore structures. This study can effectively be utilized for safety assessment to various breakwater systems and layout of offshore breakwater in the ocean and coastal field. It can give information for the safety to construct offshore structure and revetment in coastal region.

디젤 엔진 로커 암의 피로 내구성 평가 (Evaluation of Fatigue Endurance for a Rocker Arm of Diesel engine)

  • In order to evaluate fatigue endurance for the rocker arm of a diesel engine, stress measurements were performed using the strain gages attached near the neck, where is one of the most critical region in the rocker arm, in variation of the engine speed. The fatigue life experiments were carried out on miniature specimens from the rocker arms. For evaluating the fatigue endurance of the rocker arm, the S-N data were compared with the stress analysis results through FEM analysis of the rocker arm. The effective stress of the neck region was determined 17.7MPa through FEM analysis of the rocker arm. Conclusively, on the basis of fatigue limit, the rocker arm has a safety factor of 2.8 or 3.4 from the stress measurement or FEM results, respectively.

  • A pressurizer in a small integral type pressurized water reactor is located inside the upper region of the reactor vessel, and uses a space between the upper head of the reactor vessel and the upper region of the upper guide structure which is partially filled with fluid depending on the operating power. This new design requires a comprehensive investigation of vibration characteristics. This study investigates the modal characteristics of a pressurizer which uses a simplified cylindrical shell model, focusing on how having fluid in the shell affects vibration and response characteristics. In addition, an analysis of sloshing is performed and the response characteristics are addressed.
