방침경영시스템 운영기록의 유용성 제고에 관한 고찰 (A study on improving the usability of records of policy management system operation)

  • Two functions are considerable in the record management of policy management system operation. The first one is to prove that shows the conforming status of the management system requirements. The second one is to prove that shows the performing status whether the policy management system is operating effectively to the company. However, the second function requires the high level data analysis techniques, and it is more important for the decision making of the company operations. That is, the second function is more closer than the first function to the top manager's policy management tool. This paper is prepared to offer a study on the desirable record management which is necessary to the scientific decision making process. The scientific decision making requires the analysis of data derived from the reliable records. It is also aimed to enlighten the relations between the reliability of records and the adoption of the results of analysis in associated with the top manager's decision making.

  • This study is intended to propose a systematic procedure for the development of the conditional assessment based on the safety of structures and the cost effective performance criteria for designing and upgrading of bridge structures. As a result, a set of cost function models for a life cycle cost analysis of bridge structures is proposed and thus the expected total life cycle costs (ETLCC) including initial (design, testing and construction) costs and direct/indirect damage costs considering repair and replacement costs, human losses and property damage costs, road user costs, and indirect regional economic losses costs. Also, the optimum safety indices are presented based on the expected total cost minimization function using only three parameters of the failure cost to the initial cost (${\tau}$), the extent of increased initial cost by improvement of safety (${\nu}$) and the order of an initial cost function (n). Through the enough numerical invetigations, we can positively conclude that the proposed optimum design procedure for bridge structures based on the ETLCC will lead to more rational, economical and safer design.

Mitochondrial transplantation: an overview of a promising therapeutic approach

  • Mitochondrial transplantation is a promising therapeutic approach for the treatment of mitochondrial diseases caused by mutations in mitochondrial DNA, as well as several metabolic and neurological disorders. Animal studies have shown that mitochondrial transplantation can improve cellular energy metabolism, restore mitochondrial function, and prevent cell death. However, challenges need to be addressed, such as the delivery of functional mitochondria to the correct cells in the body, and the long-term stability and function of the transplanted mitochondria. Researchers are exploring new methods for mitochondrial transplantation, including the use of nanoparticles or CRISPR gene editing. Mechanisms underlying the integration and function of transplanted mitochondria are complex and not fully understood, but research has revealed some key factors that play a role. While the safety and efficacy of mitochondrial transplantation have been investigated in animal models and human trials, more research is needed to optimize delivery methods and evaluate long-term safety and efficacy. Clinical trials using mitochondrial transplantation have shown mixed results, highlighting the need for further research in this area. In conclusion, although mitochondrial transplantation holds significant potential for the treatment of various diseases, more work is needed to overcome challenges and evaluate its safety and efficacy in human trials.

수량화II류이론을 활용한 상수도관로의 안전성 평가 모델 개발 및 적용성 평가 연구 (A Study on the Development and Applicative Estimation of Safety Evaluation Model for Water Supply Pipelines using Quantification Theory Type II)

  • Owing to time and cost constraints, new methods that would make it possible to evaluate the safety of the water supply pipeline in a less time- and cost-consuming manner are urgently needed. In response to this exigency, the present study developed a new statistical model to assess the safety of the water supply pipeline using the quantification theory type II. In this research, the safety of the water supply pipeline was defined as 'a possibility of the pipeline failure'. Quantification analysis was conducted on the qualitative data, such as pipe material, coating, and buried condition. The results of analyses demonstrate that the hit ratio of the quantification function amounted to 77.8% of hit ratio, which was a fair value. In addition, all variables that were included in the quantification function were logically valid and demonstrated statistically significant. According to the results derived from the application of the safety evaluation model, the coefficient of determination ($R^2$) between K-region's water supply pipeline safety and the safety inspection amounted to 0.80. Therefore, these findings provide meaningful insight for the measured values in real applications of the model. The results of the present study can also be meaningfully used in further research on safety evaluation of pipelines, establishing of renewal prioritization, as well as asset management planning of the water supply infrastructure.

사물인터넷(IoT) 기반 스마트 급식안전관리시스템(iMEAL) 개발 및 이를 적용한 어린이 급식소용 음식의 위생모니터링 (Hygiene Monitoring of Food for Children's Foodservice Using the IoT-based Smart Food Safety Management System (iMEAL))

  • This report was prepared to introduce the developed Internet of Things (IoT)-based Smart Food Safety Management System (iMEAL) for children's foodservices registered in the Center for Children's Foodservice Management and report the results of hygiene monitoring through microbial analysis of two foods simulated and distributed based on this system. The program consisted of three menu screens: a foodservice management and meal inspection function, a refrigerator/freezer monitoring function, and a sanitary/safety inspection log function. Data such as cooking temperature, refrigerator and freezer temperature, salinity, and chlorine concentration were collected using IoT sensors or terminals, and hygiene safety inspection diary results (recorded by cooks) were transmitted to the Internet and stored. The APCs (3.78±0.07 log CFU/g) and E. coli (not detected) in stir-fried pork teriyaki sauce and the heating process met cooking standards. Similarly, the APCs (4.05±0.05 log CFU/g) and E. coli (not detected) in cucumber/chomuchim, which was not heated, also met cooking standards. APCs increased over time when cooked food was left for 1 hour, 1.5 hours, or 2 hours but remained acceptedable. Based on hygiene monitoring results of these two foods, using the i-MEAL system resulted in the safe production and distribution of children's food.

  • In this study, an expert system was developed to predict the safety of tunnel and choose proper tunnel reinforcement system using fuzzy quantification theory and fuzzy inference rule based on tunnel information database. The expert system developed in this study have two main parts named pre-module and post-module. Pre-module decides tunnel information imput items based on the tunnel face mapping information which can be easily obtained in-situ site. Then, using fuzzy quantification theory II, fuzzy membership function is composed and tunnel safety level is inferred through this membership function. The comparison result between the predicted reinforcement system level and measured ones was very similar. In-situ data were obtained in three tunnel sites including subway tunnel under Han river, This system will be very helpful to make the most of in-situ data and suggest proper applicability of tunnel reinforcement system developing more resonable tunnel support method from dependance of some experienced experts for the absent of guide.

  • An advanced model for assessing life cycle cost of the facility containing several subdivisions has been proposed with systems engineering approach. This model evaluates the maintenance cost in the sphere of the safety as well as in that of its functionality. The proposed approach has been shown to be more reasonable and practical than existing models. The serviceability and reasonability have been proved through evaluating life cycle cost of the reservoir which is a representative agricultural facility. In addition, the proposed method is helpful to make a maintenance strategy using the survival probability in the point of safety and functionality.

  • The human hand is a complex structure that performs various functions for activities of daily living and occupations. This paper presents a literature review on the methodologies used to evaluate hand functions from a biomechanics standpoint, including anthropometry, kinematics, kinetics, and electromyography (EMG). Anthropometry describes the dimensions and measurements of the hand. Kinematics includes hand movements and the range of motion of finger joints. Kinetics includes hand models for tendon and joint force analysis. EMG is used on hand muscles associated with hand functions and with signal-processing technology.

  • A hydraulic Excavator is applied for outdoor tasks in construction, agriculture and undersea etc. When a hydraulic Excavator works crane function tasks, most of disasters happen. In this study, In order to preventing these disasters, the safety equipment algorithm for crane working is developed, and the safety equipment algorithm for crane working is being developed. The proposed control algorithm(Zero Moment Point) is designed to avoid overload. The hydraulic excavator for crane function must work within a maximum limit of load. To accurately detect a working load, pressure sensors of boom, arm cylinder, and angle sensors of boom, arm and bucket joint are used.

초등학교 특별교실 활용 및 환경 평가 (The Physical Environment Evaluation and Utilization of Extra Activity Classrooms in the Elementary School)

  • The Purpose of this paper was to study the uses of the extra activity classroom of elementary school and the satisfaction of the students. The SPSS 10.0 for windows was used to analyze data collected from 397 elementary school students in Kunsan and Seocheon. The results were as follows: (1) More than 2/3 students have experienced special activities. The extra activity classroom was not effectively used showing less than one or two hours use a week for the lecture and extra activities. (2) Generally the students were satisfied at the condition of extra activity classroom, but dissatisfied with the degree of the independence, of deterioration, and of safety while moving. That is because the building and its equipment were old, and soundproofing and safety establishments were not well equipped. (3) There was difference between schools. Students at city had more satisfaction than at county. (4) The most important item of extra activity classroom was esthetics followed by function, safeness. and healthiness. It shows that the important item is being moved to esthetics and healthiness from function of extra activity classroom.
