화력발전설비 감시점검용 필드 로봇 시스템 개발 (Development of Patrol Robot System for Thermal Power Plant Facilities)

  • To guarantee the safety and reliability of obsolete thermal power plants, on site routine patrol in their facilities has been done by human workers. Due to their poor working environments, however, a patrol robot system has been gradually required instead of the human workers from the viewpoint of the workers' safety and work efficiency. For this purpose, this paper presents a patrol robot, controllers, and its control scheme. Especially, this robot system uses a line tracing algorithm, which uses a vision camera instead of IR sensors, and an RFID system for its patrol operation. We confirmed its effectiveness through experiments.

  • The objective of this research is to monitor and control the vehicle motion in order to remove out the existing safety risk based upon the human-machine cooperative vehicle control. A predictive control method is proposed to control the steering wheel of the vehicle to keep the lane. Desired angle of the steering wheel to control the vehicle motion could be calculated based upon vehicle dynamics, current and estimated pose of the vehicle every sample steps. The vehicle pose and the road curvature were calculated by geometrically fusing sensor data from camera image, tachometer and steering wheel encoder though the Perception Net, where not only the state variables, but also the corresponding uncertainties were propagated in forward and backward direction in such a way to satisfy the given constraint condition, maintain consistency, reduce the uncertainties, and guarantee robustness. A series of experiments was conducted to evaluate the control performance, in which a car Like robot was utilized to quit unwanted safety problem. As the results, the robot was keeping very well a given lane with arbitrary shape at moderate speed.

불꽃점화 구형분무화염에서 고공간 분해능을 가진 집광프로브의 응용 (Application of Light Collecting Probe with High Spatial Resolution to Spark-Ignited Spherical Spray Flames)

  • In order to obtain the flame Propagation speed in freely falling droplet suspension Produced by an ultrasonic atomizer, a light collecting probe named Multi-color Integrated Cassegrain Receiving Optics (MICRO) is applied to spark-ignited spherical spray flames. Two MICRO probes are used to monitor time-series signals of OH chemilumine-scence from two different locations in the flame. The flame propagation speed is calculated by detecting the arrival time difference of the propagating flame front. In addition, time-series images of OH chemiluminescence are simultaneously obtained by a high-speed digital CCD camera to ensure the validity of the MICRO system. Furthermore, relationship between the spray properties measured by phase Doppler anemometer (PDA) and the flame propagation speed are discussed with k different experimental conditions by changing the fuel injection rate. It was confirmed that the MICRO probe system was very useful and convenient to obtain the flame propagation speed and that the flame propagation speed was different depending on the spray properties.

  • Automated manufacturing systems are applied to shop floors as a tool for the increase of productivity and quality and the decrease of manufacturing lead times and industry accidents. One of the most important issue of the present day is the application of Internet. The development of Internet technologies makes manufacturing enterprises break spacial barriers between users and shop floors, and collect various field data in remote sites. In this research, an Internet-based remote control system for a small-sized automated storage and retrieval system is developed for the purpose of real-time monitoring and control of automatic production equipment. The developed system has a client-server architecture and transmits real-time images of the automated storage and retrieval system to a client by ar CCD camera connected to a server. Based on the transmitted images, the client sends commands to PLC of the server, and part storage and retrieval tasks are executed.

  • In this paper, we developed the care system for older people living alone using the RFID technologies and the living informations. The care system store living informations, extracted through a unconstrained detection method by the RFID tags and readers, into a monitering server. The unconstrained detection method improved a weakness of existing systems that detected a living informations through an infrared sensor, ultrasonic sensor, camera, consumed quantity of the tap water or gas. The result of this study will playa very important role, as a part of a composite older-welfare services. Also, in the future, accumulated living informations will be allowed for a health data of older peoples.

  • Active safety vehicle devices are getting more attention recently. To prevent traffic accidents, the environment in front and even around the vehicle must be checked and monitored. In the present applications, mainly camera and radar based systems are used as sensing devices. Laser scanner, one of the sensing devices, has the advantage of obtaining accurate measurement of the distance and the geometric information about the objects in the field of view of the laser scanner. However, there is a problem that detecting object occluded by a foreground one is difficult. In this paper, criterions are proposed to manage this problem. Simulation is conducted by vehicle mounted the laser scanner and multiple-hypothesis algorithm tracks the candidate objects. We compare the running times as multi-hypothesis algorithm parameter varies.

  • The carbon fiber reinforced plastics(CFRP) have been widely used in aircraft and spacecraft structures as well as sports goods because it has high specific strength, high specific stiffness and low coefficient of thermal expansion. Machining of CFRP poses problems not frequently seen for metals due to the nonhomogeneity, anisotropy, and abrasive characteristics of CFRP. Delamination is a common problem faced while drilling holes in CFRP using conventional drilling. Therefore, AE characteristics related to drilling damage process of unidirectional and [0/90/]s crossply laminate composite was studied. Also drilling damage like the delamination was observed by video camera in real time monitoring technique. From the results, we basically found the relationships between the delamination from drilling and AE characteristics for CFRP composites.

WL-RDCB 시편의 동적 균열전파속도와 동적 응력확대계수 (Dynamic Stress Intensity Factors and Dynamic Crack Propagation Velocities in Polycarbonate WL-RDCB Specimen)

  • Dynamic fracture characteristics of Polycarbonate WL-RDCB specimen were investigated. The dynamic crack propagation velocities in these specimens were measured by using both high speed camera system and silver paint grid method developed and justified in the INHA Fracture Mechanics Laboratory. The measured crack propagation velocities were fed into the INSAMCR code(a dynamic finite element code which has been developed in the INBA Fracture Mechanics Laboratory) to extract the dynamic stress intensity factors. It has been confirmed that both dynamic crack arrest toughness and the static crack arrest toughness depend on both the geometry and the dynamic crack propagation velocity of specimens. The maximum dynamic crack propagation velocity of Polycarbonate WL-RDCB specimen was found to be dependent on the material property, geometry and the type of loading. The dynamic cracks in these Polycarbonate WL-RDCB specimens seemed to propagate in a successive manner, involving distinguished 'propagation-arrest-propagation-arrest' steps on the microsecond time scale. It was also found that the relat-ionship between dynamic stress intensity factor and dynamic crack propagation velocities might be represented by the typical '$\Gamma$'shape.

  • Surge protective devices can be divided into three categories based on the circuit assembly: a parallel circuit type that considers the surge current amount within the device, a series circuit type that considers the voltage and single circuit type that uses a single element. However, when assembling SPDs, there are many things including function and safety to be taken into consideration because they are directly related to the performance and safety of the device. In this paper, we executed an experimental comparative study of performance and thermal stability of each SPD type using lightning surge generator and thermal image camera.
