차량종류에 따른 LDWS 성능에 관한 연구 (LDWS Performance Study Based on the Vehicle Type)

  • More than 80 percent of traffic accidents related with lane departure believed to be the result of crossing the lane due to either negligence or drowsiness of the driver. Lane-departure related accident in the highway usually involve high fatality. Even though LDWS is believed to prevent accident 25% and reduce fatalities by 15% respectively, its effectiveness in performance is yet to be confirmed in many aspects. In this study, the vehicle lateral locations relative to warning zone envelop (earliest and latest warning zone) defined in ISO standard, ECE and NHTSA regulations are compared with respect to various factors including delays, vehicle speed and vehicle heading angle with respect to the lane. Since LDWS is designed to be activated at the speed over 60 km/h, vehicle speed range for the study is set to be from 60 to 100 km/h. The vehicle heading angle (yaw angle) is set to be up to 5 degree away from the lane (abrupt lane change) considering standard for lane change test using double lane-change test specification. The TLC is calculated using factors like vehicle speed, yaw angle and reaction time. In addition, the effect of vehicle type has been considered to assess LDWS safety.

실시간 교통자료 기반 고속도로 교통사고 발생 가능성 추정 모형 (Estimation of Freeway Accident Likelihood using Real-time Traffic Data)

  • 본 연구에서는 실시간으로 수집되는 고속도로의 검지기 자료를 이용하여 교통사고 발생 가능성을 확률적 관측값으로 나타낼 수 있는 모형을 개발하였다. 사고발생 지점을 기준으로 상류부 및 하류부에서 수집된 사고발생 이전의 교통자료를 모형의 독립변수로 설정하였다. 이항 로지스틱 회귀분석 기법을 적용하여 교통사고 발생을 유발할 잠재력이 높은 교통상황을 교통사고와는 무관한 교통상황으로부터 추출하는 분류문제(classification problem)로 설정하고 모형을 개발하였다. 최근 3년간 서해안 고속도로에서 발생한 사고자료와 검지기 자료를 맵핑하였으며, 유효한 검지기 자료를 모형에 적용하기 위하여 이상치 제거 및 결측치 보정을 위한 자료처리 과정을 별도로 수행하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 모형에서 산출되는 계량화된 교통사고 발생가능성은 고속도로상에서 실시간 경고정보 제공 및 다양한 교통운영관리 전략의 교통안전 측면에서의 효과를 평가하는데 유용하게 적용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

임진강 경보제어시스템 오동작으로 인한 인명피해 사고 사례 분석 (Analysis of Disaster with Casualty Caused by Malfunction of the Water Level Monitoring System in Imjin River)

  • North Korea's discharge of water from a dam into the Imjin River that flows through the inter-Korean border swept away a riverside camping site early Sunday morning, killing six people. This tragic incident might have been prevented if the North had given prior notice of the release from its Hwanggang Dam to the South. Investigations are under way to determine the reasons behind the unexpected act. This incident was a man-made disaster not least death of six people. A water level monitoring system(WLMS) of the Imjin River was installed the bridge of Pilseung that operate three public institutions. The WLMS of the A institution set up warning siren and broadcasting as the water level has been rising the bridge of Pilseung in the Imjin River. But the A institution's system was already out of side before discharged of water a dam into the Imjin River and the operators were culpable negligence. The B institution's office employee on charges of negligence that might have contributed to the tragedy and one of the A institution's employees ignored 26 warning messages on the WLMS. This tragic incident was a man-made disaster not least death of six people and might have been prevented if the WLMS was normally operated and the system operators must be worked a tight.

VANET에서 위치 정보를 이용한 효율적인 차량 안전 메시지 브로드캐스트 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Efficient Vehicular Safety Message Broadcast Scheme using GPS Information in VANET)

  • VANET의 대표적 응용인 차량 안전 통신에서는 차량 운행 중 긴급 상황에 대처하기 위하여 차량 간 통신을 통해서 EWM (Emergency Warning Message)을 브로드캐스트하게 된다. 그러나 차량의 수가 증가하게 되면 다수의 중복된 EWM의 송수신으로 인하여 Broadcast Storm Problem이 발생한다. Broadcast Storm Problem을 해결하기 위한 여러 가지 방안들이 제시되었으나 대부분의 경우, 사전에 주변 차량들과의 주기적인 Beacon 메시지의 송수신을 통하여 이웃관계를 설정하거나 이동성에 따른 토폴로지 변화로 이웃관계를 재설정해야 하는 과정이 필요하며 동시에 Beacon 메시지 교환에 따라 통신부하를 가중시키게 된다. 본 논문에서는 이웃관계 설정을 위한 Beacon 메시지 교환과정을 생략하고 Broadcast Storm Problem을 효율적으로 해결할 수 있는 LLR (Longest Leaping Relay) 기법을 제안하여 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 성능을 검증하였다.

저염수에서 이매패류 참굴(Crassostrea gigas)의 패각운동 (Shell Valve Movement of Pacific Oysters, Crassostrea gigas, in Response to Low Salinity Water)

  • 본 연구는 참굴(Crassostrea gigas)의 패각운동을 이용하여, 연안역에서 발생하는 저염수에 대한 조기경보가능성을 살펴보았다. 30 psu와 20 psu에서 패각운동은 각각 $7.32{\pm}3.21$회/hr와 $7.11{\pm}3.90$회/hr였으며, 파형과 횟수는 차이가 없었다(t-test, p>0.001). 하지만 10 psu와 5 psu에서는 모든 개체가 폐각상태를 지속하였다. 수온과 염분의 복합실험결과, Group 1(수온 $15^{\circ}C$ ${\times}$ 염분 15 psu)은 20~30 psu에서 보인 패각운동 후(약 2~3시간), 장시간 폐각을 하였다. Group 2(수온 $30^{\circ}C$ ${\times}$ 염분 15 psu)에서는 Group 1의 패각 개폐운동보다 더 빠르고 자주 나타나, 참굴의 생리적인 위기상황에 대한 신호를 나타내었다. 따라서 이러한 파형은 하계 저염수 출현 시 나타낼 수 있는 조기경보 신호로 충분히 활용될 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

Raising Public Recognition of Climate Change Adaptation to Ensure Food Safety

  • Recent changes in the global climate environment have resulted in a wide variety of climate-related disasters, including floods, tidal waves, forest fires, droughts, etc. In addition, global warming raises the risk of food poisoning, which may increase the spread of infectious diseases and alter their structure. Under these circumstances, it is necessary to provide accurate and persuasive information to consumers so that they can be fully informed of climate change and alter their behavior accordingly. Therefore, the intention of this study was to develop posters and contents for image production related to climate change and food safety. The posters are focused on consumers with headings such as "Climate Change Threatening Food Safety", "Earth getting warmer, your dining table is at risk", "Warning signs ahead for the globe", and more. Five poster drafts were selected initially, and a survey was carried out amongst 1,087 people regarding their preferences, with the most preferred design chosen. The images related to climate change and food safety defined climate change, how it relates to food safety, the risks it poses to the food industry, and lastly, how the public can respond in the future. Therefore, to further communicate the importance of food safety to consumers, the development, education, and promotion of these contents should be performed to provide safety information to consumers in the future.

WEB 기반 교통안전 시스템 (Traffic Safety System based on WEB)

  • 요즈음 교통사고를 줄이기 위하여 IT 기술을 이용한 교통사고 연구가 많이 진행되고 있다. 특히, 고속도로에서 교통사고를 예방하기 위해서 눈이나 비가 올 경우에는, 날씨조건을 고려한 최적의 교통속도를 실시간으로 산출해야한다. 본 논문에서는 교통사고를 예방하기 위하여 결빙 구간 및 안개구간 자동 경고 안내 방송 시스템을 웹기반에서 모의실험 하였다. 뿐만 아니라, 퍼지 추론 규칙을 이용하여서, 최악의 날씨 조건에서도 교통사고를 예방 할 수 있도록, 운전자 에게 최적의 교통 안전속도를 실시간으로 운전자에게 알려 주는 모의실험을 개발하였다.

  • The main objective of this study is to provide feature analysis of industrial accidents in manufacturing industries using CHAID algorithm. In this study, data on 10,536 accidents were analyed to create risk groups, Including the risk of disease and accident. The sample for this work chosen from data related to manufacturing industries during three years $(2002\sim2004)$ in Korea. The resulting classification rules have been incorporated into development of a developed database tool to help quantify associated risks and act as an early warning system to individual industrial accident in manufacturing industries.

DEA 분석을 통한 프랜차이즈 기업의 평가 (An Assessing of Franchisor's Firm Performance Based on Data Envelopment Analysis)

  • Due to the severe market conditions, pre-entrepreneur seeks to start their business through franchise company. This paper, using the data envelopment analysis(DEA) method, examines efficiency of a group of franchise company in order to provide efficiency information with pre-entrepreneur. Output-oriented DEA model is applied in the investigation of efficiency, and the overall efficiency score is decomposed into pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency. The input variables selected to evaluate the efficiency are franchise deposit, franchise contribution cost and the output variables are sales and number of franchises, and length of business. The results of this paper show franchise industry have the low level of overall efficiency and the main sources of inefficiency is found technical rather than scale. As a result, this paper provides not only the current status of efficiency information of a franchise with pre-entrepreneur but also give warning when they sign-up with franchise business.

Occurrence Characteristics of Marine Accidents Caused by Typhoons around Korean Peninsula

  • During the period of every summer to early autumn seasons, ships have been wrecked or grounded from effect of a typhoon in the water areas around Korean Peninsula Typhoon Rusa killed more than 100 people in September 2002. Super Typhoon Maemi passed southeast of South Korea in September 12-13, 2003, with a strong gale blowing at a record 60 m/s and caused much ship groundings, collisions and sinkings over 3000 in dockyards, harbors and places of refuge. These are things that could have been prevented had there merely been prior warning. This study outlines the occurrence characteristics of maritime accidents caused by a typhoon in South Korea for the period from 1962 to 2002. The distribution of the accident records is also compared with the trajectories, winds, central pressures of typhoons, passed during the 1990-2003. It is shown that attack frequency of typhoon and number of marine accidents is the highest in August and the marine accidents due to typhoon have a close relation to the distribution of accumulated wind and pressure fields.
