소형선학의 충돌사고예방을 위한 경보시스템 설계 (A Study on the Design of Alert System for Preventing Collision Accidents)

  • 소형선박에서 초음파를 공기 중에 발사하여 50m내의 타 선박 및 장애물에 대하여 충동예방경보를 3단계의 발광 및 오디오 신호로 경보 신호를 발생하는 초음파 충돌예방 경보 시스템을 제안하였다. 본 시스템은 소형선박운항자의 제한 시계 내에서 감지 능력의 향상과 작업환경에 인지 능력향상으로 소형선박의 충돌사고예방에 효과가 기대된다.

  • 본 논문은 HID 램프 관등회로의 전선 길이에 따른 이그니션 전압 전류 특성 분석에 관한 것이다. 현장실태조사를 통하여 HID 램프 관등회로 전선 굵기 선정의 문제점을 제시하고 HID 램프의 이그니션 전압 전류 특성을 분석하였으며, 이론적 고찰과 시뮬레이션, 실험을 통하여 전선의 길이, 종류, 굵기에 따른 이그니션 전압 감쇄 그래프를 제시하였다.

USN 기반의 에너지 및 안전성 효율적인 LED 가로등 제어 시스템 (Energy and Safety Efficient LED Street-light Control System Based on Ubiquitous Sensor Network)

  • LEDs are becoming the most suitable candidate replacing traditional fluorescent street-light lamps because of its energy efficiency and high brightness. Furthermore, most countries are urging to pursue energy savings in conjunction with IT and sensor network. In order to conserve energy of LED lamp and ensure the safety of pedestrian, we propose a new smart control method for LED light system based on USN using compound sensors, such as illuminance, motion, temperature and humidity sensor. An elaborate simulation shows that the proposed system with a smart control based switching can reduce the energy by 40%, compared to the previous street-light system with a fixed time based switching.

  • When a children's school bus stops on the road, the operator enables an amber flashing light (indicating stopping or slowing) or a red flashing light (indicating that children are getting on and off). Drivers of vehicles passing by the stopped school bus, as well as vehicles in adjacent lanes to the school bus must stop temporarily. However, many drivers are not aware of the laws and do not comply with them, so children are exposed to an increased risk of being hit, especially at night as the color recognition of the vehicle is significantly lower than during the day. In our experiments, messages and shapes using light were projected to the front and rear of a parked school bus, in addition to its red lights flashing.

Study on Simulation Design of Light Emitting Diode Luminaires for 100 W Safety Street Lighting

  • Optical analysis is necessary to optimize light emitting diode (LED) safety street lighting. In this study, optical analysis was conducted for 100 W LED safety street lighting. Experimental research on such a single LED was the first undertaken. Simulation modeling based on the optical properties of the single LED has compared between average road illuminances and has them analyzed with Korean Industrial Standards for LED safety street lighting (KS C7658:2009). The simulation results demonstrated that the illumination performance (average road illuminance) was 75.3 lx at a height of 4 m and an area of $32\;m^2$, 45.25 lx at a height of 5 m and an area of $72\;m^2$, and 30.05 lx at a height of 6 m and an area of $128\;m^2$. 100 W safety street lighting (model CE180-ST-OS) designed by simulation was also compared between product and 100 W simulation modeling, and error rates averaged 5.6%. The 100 W LED safety street lighting base designed in simulation modeling was proven by comparison experiments. Through the simulations and the corresponding analysis, it was found that the tested 100 W LED safety street lamp had reasonable performance. The design method for LED safety street lamps has been summarized based on the optical analysis.

자동차 에어백의 제어부품 불량에 의한 고장현상 및 후방 추돌에 관련된 에어백 미전개에 대한 사례 연구 (Study of Examples for Air Bag Non-deployment Including Rear Collision and Failure Phenomenon by Damage of Control Parts in Vehicle Air Bag)

  • 이 논문의 목적은 현장에서 발생되는 자동차 에어백 시스템의 고장사례를 모아 분석하고 연구하는 것이다. 첫 번째 사례에서는 에어백 시스템의 클럭 스프링과 에어 백 모듈 사이 배선 핀의 납땜부가 이탈되어, 배선 접촉불량에 의해 핀이 흔들릴 때마다 에어백의 작동불량 현상이 발생되는 것을 확인하였다. 두 번째 사례에서는 에어백 컴퓨터 내부의 단품 소자의 손상으로 인해 에어백 작동불량 현상이 발생된 것을 확인하였다. 세 번째 사례에서는 조수석 시트 벨트 프리텐셔너(pre-tensioner)의 내부 핀과 저항을 연결해 주는 납땜부 이탈로 인해 에어백 경고등이 점등된 것을 확인하였다. 네 번째 사례에서는 승용자동차가 화물자동차의 후면을 추돌하였을 때 때 범퍼는 상대편 차량보다 낮아 아래로 끼어들게 된다. 이 때 사고의 충격은 차량의 프레임부분에 전달되지 않기 때문에 충격센서가 설치된 프레임부분에 충격이 적게 전달되어 에어백이 작동하지 않은 것을 확인하였다.

대형 할인매장 주차장 이용만족도의 영향요인 분석 (Study Analysis of Big Box Retailer Parking Lot User's Satisfaction)

  • This research has analyzed factors affecting customers' satisfaction when they use parking lots of big retailers so that, in case of constructing, operating or managing such retailers, proper measures can be come up with. The analysis has been implemented on the basis of survey, and influence factors including entry/exit lamp, parking cars' traffic flow, parking type, pedestrians' movement after parking and safety. Parking lot users' satisfaction has been analyzed by using the Structural Equation Modelling and, as a result of it, in case of a detached or single building, pedestrians' movement flow after parking contributed the most to the users' satisfaction, while, in case of multipurpose complex, parking cars' traffic flow has the most influential factor. It is interpreted that users of a single building put a bigger emphasis on entry to the shop and their way back to the parked area after their shopping while customers of multipurpose complex might have various purposes of visiting the place and there are relatively more cars so that they put more emphasis on traffic counterflow, other cars and pedestrians.

조명조건의 변화에 따른 검사작업자의 정신적 피로도 분석 (Analysis of Mental Fatigue of Inspection Workers under Various Lighting Conditions)

  • Inspection works are mainly carried out with the help of human sensory organs and are relatively simple and repetitive, so that the workers easily become to feel fatigue and monotony, and their mental activity levels attenuate. Consequently, during the work time, it is natural that various lighting conditions around the workplaces may have in-fluence on work performance. This study aimed to analyze cortical fatigue of inspection workers. Thus, an inspection work was simulated on a computer monitor under various lighting conditions, and CFF, EEG, EOG, and HRV were analyzed. According to the results, fatigue symptoms turned up about $60{\sim}90$ minutes after the onset of the work. The work performance also decreased when the fatigue symptoms due to lighting conditions turned up. The variations of fatigue and work performance were affected by illuminators, illumination levels, or interaction of those two factors. The spiral fluorescent lamp seemed improper to the inspection work, because the work performance under that condition was lower than under any other illuminators.

메탈헬라이드 램프의 이그니션 특성 분석 (Ignition Characteristics of Metalhalide Lamp)

  • 본 논문은 메탈헬라이드 램프들의 이그니션 특성 비교 분석을 위하여 이그니션 구간에서의 전압, 전류 및 순시임피던스(time varying resist ante), 순시전력(time varying power)을 측정하고 분석하였고, 측정 및 분석을 위하여 램프의 종류(B형, BT형)와 제조회사가 다른 램프 6종을 선택하여 사용하였다. 분석결과, 제조회사별, 램프 상태 둥에 따라 이그니션 특성이 매우 상이하게 나타났으며, 대부분의 램프 이그니션 전류가 40[A]를 상회하고 있고, 특히 몇몇 램프의 이그니션 전류는 50[A] 이상으로 나타났다 따라서 메탈헬라이드 램프들의 이그니션 전류는 정상상태보다 큰 이그니션 전류 및 순시전력이 발생되고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 본 연구 결과는 전자식 안정기 설계 시, 특정 램프 뿐만 아니라 여러 램프의 이그니션 전류를 만족하는 설계가 필요하며, 메탈헬라이드 램프 시공 시, 램프의 이그니션 구간에서 발생하는 1-2[kV] 고전압 및 50[A] 이상의 대전류에 따른 적절한 안전사고 대책 및 관등회로의 절연, 전선 굵기 선정이 필요한 것으로 나타났다.

The Role of Forensic Engineering in the Diagnosis of Electrocution Fatalities: Two Case Reports

  • The increase in the number of fatal electric accidents over the years has escalated the demand for specialized forensic engineers to determine their relevant technical causes. Likewise, the complexities associated with identifying the causes of electrocution accidents have prompted the General Department of Forensic Science and Criminology at Dubai Police to adopt a new methodology to diagnose electrocution accidents, consisting of an approach that involves medico-legal examination, electrical diagnosis of the evidence, and trace evidence analysis. This paper will discuss the application of the adopted method in further detail by unfolding two case reports. The first report outlines a case in which a worker got electrocuted at a construction site while attempting to turn on a lamp. The second case report involves the death of a technician in a workshop after trying to disconnect a washing machine from its plug. The methodology was utilized during the investigation of both cases, which were attended by the appointed forensic engineers and showed promising results.
