The rapidly advanced industrial society takes advantage of high-technology, but it also suffered from the side effects such as various diseases by contamination. Of these problems, air pollution is considered as the most important problem nowadays. Air contamination is not only limited outdoors, but it also causes more serious effect in our indoor air environment. Depending on the notion that indoor air effects physical health seriously, the needs of the air cleaner is more earnest. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to develop the air cleaner to meet the standard and get rid of poisonous and harmful material from the atmosphere by using a Corona Discharge. According to the purpose of this study, We set the negative ion generator, the UV, $TiO_{2}$ optical catalyzer, the electrical dust collector and the air filter in series order. It emits a lot of negative ions. We use these ions to purify harmful factors and contaminated materials. We collect the dust using static power that comes from the discharge of corona. At the same time, we try to develop the air cleaner to keep the air quality to meet the standard and kill the various viruses using UV LED and $TiO_{2}$ optical catalyzer. In this study, we use the UV LED that is smaller and efficient than a existing UV lamp. What is more, the UV LED has a features that a stabilizer occupying much space is not needed any more.

This paper is aimed to develop monitoring software for detecting the characteristics of current and voltage signals for series arc on electric wire. In order to attain this purpose, the characteristics of series arc were analyzed by the current and voltage signals on electric wire which were installed, and also analyzed by the changes of RMS, instantaneous of waveform value in time domain and THD in frequency domain. Monitoring program which analyze the signal was developed by Labview which can analyze in time domain and frequency domain, and save data. Experimental setup for detecting verification of monitoring program was composed loads of a lamp, an electric heater and an electric fan loads which were usually using. Measurement points for detecting verification of monitoring program were selected at both the panel board and the arc generator at the same time. As results of the experiments by monitoring program, the arc current waveform showed the same characteristic in all measurement points of all load. But the arc voltage waveform was different in each measurement point. When arc occurred, the THD of current value increased above 20%. The results of this study will be effectively used in developing the preventive system of electric fire by series arc.

To detect Escherichia coli from agri-food and production environments, a device based on IoT (internet of things) technology that can check test results in real time on a mobile phone has been developed. The efficiency of the developed device, which combines an incubator equipped with a UV lamp, a high-resolution camera and software to detect E. coli in the field, was evaluated by measuring the device's temperature, detection limit, and detection time. The device showed a difference between its programmed temperature setting and actual temperature of about 1.0℃. In a detection limit test performed with a single-colony inoculation, a color change to yellow and a florescent signal were detected after 12 and 15 h incubations, respectively. The incubation time also decreased along with increasing bacteria levels. When applying the developed method and device to various samples, including utensils, gloves, irrigation water, seeds, and vegetables, detection rates of E. coli using the device were higher than those of the Korean Food Code method. These results show that the developed protocol and device can efficiently detect E. coli from agri-food production environments and vegetables.
The consumption of meat has been increasing, leading to a dynamic meat and meat processing industry. To maintain the quality and safety of meat products, various technologies have been explored, including intense pulsed light (IPL) technology. Several factors affect the inactivation of microorganisms by IPL treatment, including light intensity (fluence), treatment duration, pulse frequency, and the distance between the lamp and the samples. Meat products have been studied for IPL treatment, resulting in microbial reductions of approximately 0.4-2.4 Log. There are also impacts on color, sensory attributes, and physico-chemical quality, depending on treatment conditions. Processed meat products like sausages and ham have shown microbial reductions of around 0.1-4 Log with IPL treatment. IPL treatment has minimal impact on color and lipid oxidation in these products. Egg products and dairy items can also benefit from IPL treatment, achieving microbial reductions of around 1-7.8 Log. The effect on product quality varies depending on the treatment conditions. IPL technology has shown promise in enhancing the safety and quality of various food products, including meat, processed meat, egg products, and dairy items. However, the research results on animal-based food are not diverse and fragmentary, this study discusses the future research direction and industrial application through a review of these researches.
Purpose: We report two cases of corneal edema in patients who presented with bilateral blurry vision due to vaporized amines while working in a polyurethane processing plant. Case summary: A 28-year-old male presented with bilateral blurred vision. His work involved solidifying polyurethane liquid and he often found himself exposed to polyurethane heat and gas. On examination, the patient's uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) was 20/40 (right) and 30/50 (left). A slit lamp examination revealed subepithelial microbullae in both eyes. The central corneal thickness (CCT) was also increased in both eyes, measuring $698{\mu}m$ (right) and $672{\mu}m$ (left). After prescribing 0.5% moxifloxacin and, 1% fluorometholone eye drops for 3 days in both eyes, the UCVA recovered to 20/40 (right) and 20/20 (left). The CCT decreased to $644{\mu}m$ (right) and $651{\mu}m$ (left), and the microbullae improved significantly in the left eye. The second patient was a 34-year-old female who presented with bilateral decreased visual acuity while at work. She worked in a factory that produced car seat filling. Her UCVA was 20/25 (right) and 20/20 (left). The CCT by specular microscopy was $537{\mu}m$ (right) and $541{\mu}m$ (left). On slit lamp examination, both eyes demonstrated bilateral central subepithelial edema. The patient did not attend any follow-up outpatient appointments after the initial presentation. Conclusions: Exposure to vaporized amines such as polyurethane may causereversible corneal toxicityeven without direct contact. Further consideration should be given to ocular safety and protection from amine compounds in the industrial field. On examination, the patient's uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) was 20/40 (right) and 30/50 (left). Laser welding application for car body manufacturing has many advantages in the stiffness and the lightness of vehicle, the productivity of assembly line, and the degree of freedom in design. This presentation will express the innovation of car body manufacturing including parameter optimization, process modeling, and system integration. In this application the investment for systems was cut down dramatically by real time switching over the laser path between two welding stations. Points of technical discussion are as follows; optimization of parameters such as laser power, robot speed and trajectory, compact and useful design of jig & fixture to assure welding quality for 3 sheet-layer zinc-coated steel, system integration between 4㎾ Nd:YAG laser device and the other systems, on-line real time welding quality monitoring system, perfect safety standards for high power laser, minimization of consumption costs such as arc lamp, protective glass for optic, etc. This application was successfully launched mass production line in 2001. The laser-welded line of side panel consists of 122 stitches totally. And the length is about 2.4m.
There are a number of practical uses for devices which are capable of piping large amounts of light: illumination of areas where there would be maintenance, safety, or security problems with electronic light sources; piping sunlight into indoor areas for illumination; and the conversion of high luminous efficacy, good color quality, high intensity discharge lamps into more acceptable linear of area sources of light. Prism light guides are hollow structures which pipe light by means of total internal reflectin(TIR). These devices are unique in their ability to combine the efficiency of TIR with the relatively low cost of hollow structure. An important application stems from their ability to transform a point source of light such as an incandescent or discharge lamp into a linear or area source of light or illumination. We report the development of an economical, flexible prismatic film for fabricating the light guide wall. This guide geometries and films are currently under development.
Background: Solar furnaces are used worldwide to conduct experiments to demonstrate the feasibility of solar-chemical processes with the aid of concentrated sunlight, or to qualify high temperature-resistant components. In recent years, high-flux solar simulators (HFSSs) based on short-arc xenon lamps are more frequently used. The emitted spectrum is very similar to natural sunlight but with dangerous portions of ultraviolet light as well. Due to special benefits of solar simulators the increase of construction activity for HFSS can be observed worldwide. Hence, it is quite important to protect employees against serious injuries caused by ultraviolet radiation (UVR) in a range of 100 nm to 400 nm. Methods: The UV measurements were made at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Cologne and Paul-Scherrer-Institute (PSI), Switzerland, during normal operations of the HFSS, with a high-precision UV-A/B radiometer using different experiment setups at different power levels. Thus, the measurement results represent UV emissions which are typical when operating a HFSS. Therefore, the biological effects on people exposed to UVR was investigated systematically to identify the existing hazard potential. Results: It should be noted that the permissible workplace exposure limits for UV emissions significantly exceeded after a few seconds. One critical value was strongly exceeded by a factor of 770. Conclusion: The prevention of emissions must first and foremost be carried out by structural measures. Furthermore, unambiguous protocols have to be defined and compliance must be monitored. For short-term activities in the hazard area, measures for the protection of eyes and skin must be taken.
In these days, new and renewable energy is getting popular around globe and wind power generator is one of the renewable energy. In this study, we conducted a study on defect detection of composite material blade for wind power generator by applying active infrared thermography and produced a defect test piece by applying composite material used for blade of wind power generator. An infrared thermal camera and 2 kW halogen lamp are used for the purpose of research as equipments. Also, we analyzed temperature characteristic by using infrared thermal camera after checking a heat source on a test piece and found effectiveness of infrared thermography to blade of wind power generator by detecting defects resulting from temperature difference of a test piece, which eventually improve the safety and reliability of the composite material blade.
