음식점에서 사용하는 자외선 살균소독기 내 자외선 강도 분포 및 자외선 누출 (Distribution of Ultraviolet Intensity and UV Leaking of Commercial UV Sterilizers Used in Restaurants)

  • 식품제조 및 조리 현장에 널리 보급되어 사용되고 있는 자외선 살균소독기의 유효성과 안전성을 검정하기 위하여 자외선램프의 출력 및 거리에 따른 자외선 강도를 측정하였고, 시판 자외선 살균소독기 5종에 대하여 장치 내 자외선 분포를 조사하였으며, 자외선 누출을 검정하였다. 자외선 강도는 램프 출력에 비례하였으며, 근거리(<25 cm)에서는 램프로부터의 거리에, 원거리(>25 cm)에서는 거리의 제곱에 반비례하여 변화하였다. 자외선 살균소독기 내 자외선 강도는 선반의 중앙부에서 가장 높았고, 선반의 중심에서 전후 또는 좌우 방향으로 멀어짐에 따라 감소하였다. 선반 위치에 따른 자외선 강도는 상단 선반과 하단 선반사이에 큰 차이를 보였으며, 각 선반의 외곽부위에서는 자외선강도가 극히 약화되었다. 문틈 등 틈새가 있을 경우 이를 통한자외선 누출은 상당한 수준에 달하였으며, 누출 자외선 강도는거리에 따라 낮아졌다. 자외선이 누출되는 자외선 살균소독기에 대하여 선진국의 자외선 노출 허용량을 근거로 안전작업거리를 제시하였다.

판별분석을 이용한 고속도로 교량영향권역 교통사고 특성분석에 관한 연구 (Crash Characteristics within the Bridge Influence Area of Expressway Using the Discriminant Analysis)

  • PURPOSES : The bridge section of the expressway has a worse driving environment than the general section. However, traffic safety countermeasures are focused only on the bridge section. Traffic safety countermeasures on the section before entry to the bridge and the section after exit from the bridge are applied only when the bridge has a long-span section. Accordingly, this study will verify the necessity of extending the application of traffic safety countermeasures to areas that are affected by the bridge. METHODS : This study determines the areas that are affected by the bridge as well as the areas that are affected by locations with frequent traffic accidents and suggests the risk factors by affected areas through canonical discriminant analysis. For the analysis, traffic accident data for 3 years, which occurred on bridge sections in six major expressway lines, were used. RESULTS : The numbers of traffic accidents were 469 before the bridge, 281 on the bridge, and 468 after the bridge. The variables that have impact on the seriousness of accidents are as follows: speeding, excess manipulation of the steering wheel, and failure to secure safety distance for accidents that occurred before the bridge section; speeding, excess manipulation of the steering wheel, and dozing off for accidents that occurred on the bridge; and speeding and failure to secure safety distance for accidents that occurred after the bridge section. CONCLUSIONS : Areas affected by the bridge show higher accident rates than the bridge section; therefore, imposing traffic safety countermeasures on the integrated section of the bridge and the affected areas is required. It is believed that the results suggested in this study could be effectively used in the prevention of traffic accidents by imposing custom-made safety countermeasures for each section.

항만에서 위험물 운송 중 유해화학물질 누출 위험성에 관한 연구 (Risk Analysis of Transporting Hazardous Substances in Harbor Using Modeling Program)

  • Recently, the use of hazardous chemicals has been continuously increasing. Therefore, the international trade volume is growing and chemical accidents have increased. Nowadays, the safety awareness of the public has increased. As a result, the management and supervision of hazardous chemicals have been strengthened. However, the port policy of Korea has focused on increasing the volume of cargo through facility development. Thus, the port management of hazardous chemicals has been relatively neglected. For national economic growth and society, the port management of hazardous chemicals should be considered to efficiently ensure safety and economic growth. Therefore, this study assumed scenarios where hazardous materials were moved in a dangerous container, not only on appropriate wharfs but also in ports that were close to a big city. The BTX substances were selected among the toxic chemicals with large import and export volumes, and the risk distance and damage effects were predicted using various risk assessment programs. It is expected that this could be used to improve a port safety management system and could be utilized to determine the safety distance in case of an accident.

출동 거리에 따른 병원 전 심장정지 환자의 자발순환회복률 분석 (Return of spontaneous circulation rate according to dispatch distance in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest)

  • Purpose: This study measured return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) in relation to dispatch distance in patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Methods: Of 2,347 out-of-hospital cardiac arrest patients transported by emergency medical technicians in J Province between January 1 and December 31, 2015, those under age 18, those with reserved resuscitation, and those with traumatic cardiac arrest, leaving 855 patients in the study sample. ROSC was compared between those with dispatch distance ${\leq}4km$ (short dispatch distance, 465 patients) and those with dispatch distance >4 km (long dispatch distance, 390 patients). Results: The mean was 2.17 km in the short dispatch group and 9.87 km in the long dispatch group (p=.000). Mean distance from was 6.49 km and 13.39 km in the two groups, respectively (p=.000). ROSC differed significantly between the short and long dispatch distance groups (7.1% for short dispatch distance, 3.6% for long dispatch distance, p=.025). The length of time from to cardiopulmonary resuscitation also differed significantly between the short and long dispatch distance groups (8.77 minutes and 14.63 minutes, respectively, p=.000). Conclusion: ROSC was lower in areas of long dispatch distance compared to those of short dispatch distance. We expect this was most likely due to differences in response time by age and dispatch distance to the scene of cardiac arrest. However, no significant differences were found between the groups in the factors affecting ROSC.

항해위험평가모델에 의한 연안역 항해의 안전 제고에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Coastal Navigation Safety by Navigational Risk Assessment Model)

  • The major cause of the marine accidents is the collision with a moving object such as ship as well as the fixed object such as breakwater. Therefore, the most effective way to reduce the maritime ship accidents is the prevention of collision. In order to decrease the collision, it is principle that the navigation officer promptly judges the dangerous condition and makes the quick response. The ship does not allow any object or other ships approaching its surrounded area called ship area so that it prevents the collision. Generally, the ship which has high speed or poor maneuvering capability shall be managed from the distance so that the other ship does not invade its ship domains(watching distance, blocking distance). Accordingly, this study sets the navigational risk assessment model by applying ship dynamic domain and collision judgement method considered ship length, speed and navigational capability. It also reviewed the validity of the model and evaluated the perilous water way (Maenggol Channel) and a curved route near Maenggol Channel. As a result, in case of a ship with 100m in length passing Maenggol Channel, it represented "warning" level before 1.5nm to the entry, "dangerous"level 0.75nm before to it and "very dangerous" level 0.5nm before to it and then "dangerous"level again up to the entry. Applying to the curved route also showed the same results as the Narrow Channel or Maenggol Channel. This analysis highly matched with the actual navigation results. In the future, this model will be useful for coastal navigation safety chart development and safety evaluation for route or port development. It also allows to evaluate the dangerous route or the best route by applying the result into ECDIS so that it will finally help to reduce the marine accidents. Eventually the model will be effective for the marine traffic simulation evaluation forced by Maritime Traffic Safety Act.

특별고압 전선로에 대한 인체접근한계의 이론적연구 (A Study on the Theoretical Analysis of Human Body Approximation to Special High Voltage Eletric Lines)

  • This study is conducted to examine the theoretical background of characteristics for electric shock encountered in special high-voltage electric lines among the accidents of electric shock, and to calculate applied current to human body and field strength over the head by means of numerical anaysis through FEM(Finite Element Method), and to make clear the hazard level to the human body, and to establish the approach limit distance of human body to the electric lines, which could be applied to the safety standard while working in the vicinity of special high-voltage electric lines.

벤젠 및 아크릴로나이트릴 누출시 방류벽 유무 및 누출공에 따른 피해 영향범위 산정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Safety Distance of Benzene and Acrylonitrile Releases in Sccordance with Dike and Hole Size)

  • 산업의 발전에 따라 화학물질 중 독성물질의 종류와 사용량도 함께 증가하였고 이에 따라 산업현장에서의 사고 발생 가능성과 사고 영향성도 높아질 것으로 예측된다. 특히 독성물질의 누출은 인명 및 인근 지역의 환경에 치명적인 피해를 주기 때문에 누출사고 시 대피 및 안전거리 계산은 매우 중요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 액체성상의 독성물질의 경우 알고리즘을 새롭게 제시하였으며, 벤젠 및 아크릴로나이트릴을 선정하여 영향범위에 대하여 알아보고자 한다. 시나리오는 화학물질 안전원의 지침대로 최악의 시나리오 분석 시 10분간 전량 방출할 경우와, 즉시 방출하여 독성 액체가 방류벽을 범람할 경우로 하였으며 대안의 시나리오는 저장용기의 연결된 배관의 부분 파열로 인하여 누출공이 생긴 경우로 하였다. 각각의 시나리오에서 방류벽의 유무를 중심으로 연구를 진행하였으며 그로부터 기상 및 지형조건에 따라 ALOHA(Areal Locations of Hazardous Atmospheres) 프로그램을 사용하여 ERPG-2(Emergency Response Planning Guideline) 농도의 끝점 도달거리를 알아보았다. 그 결과 데이터를 통하여 그래프 및 회귀식으로 나타내었고, 이러한 자료는 피해범위를 예측함으로써 비상상황 발생 시 비상대책 자료로 활용될 수 있기를 기대한다.

어린이의 스마트 포토닉 안전의복의 개발 및 평가 (Development and Evaluation of Children's Smart Photonic Safety Clothing)

  • 본 연구에서는 첫째, 국제표준에서 규정한 형광직물과 재귀반사 소재에, 아동들이 선호하는 동물의 문양을 재귀반사 필름과 검정색 직물로 디자인하여 부착한, 2벌의 안전의복과 안전조끼를 제작하였다. 둘째, 야간에 주변광원이 없어도 원거리에서 생체를 인지할 수 있도록 안전의복에 스마트 포토닉 디바이스를 장착함으로써, 어린이들이 어두운 때 버튼 원터치만으로 상황에 따라 3가지 발광이 가능하도록 구현하였다. 제작한 스마트 안전의복을 마네킹에 착용시켜 주야간의 시인성을 비교한 결과, 시인성의 차이가 야간에 확연히 나타났는데, 기존의 안전의복 착용 시에는 주변광원 없이는 착용자가 표출되지 않은 반면, 스마트 안전의복 착용 시는 약 70m의 원거리에서도 표출됨을 확인하였다. 따라서 야간이나 기상악화 시에 주행하는 운전자가 원거리에서 생체를 인지할 수 있어 교통사고나 도로상의 안전사고 예방에 기여할 것으로 기대된다. 셋째, 광섬유의 발광기능 안정성 유지와 발광시간의 연장을 위하여 에너지 소진 시 태양전지로 수확한 전기에너지를 사용함으로써, 장시간 안정되게 광섬유 발광이 가능하여 시인성의 안정성을 확인할 수 있었다. 이로써 스마트 포토닉 안전의복은 야간 작업자용으로도 활용 가능함이 증명되었다. 그러므로 광섬유 안전의복은 태양전지에 의한 에너지 하베스팅 적용으로 안정적인 충전에 의해 실생활뿐만 아니라 어두운 산업현장에서도 착용 가능성이 높을 것으로 기대된다.

도로인접성에 따른 육상 풍력자원 잠재량 평가 (Evaluation of Onshore Wind Resource Potential According to the Road Proximity)

  • Wind turbines should generally be installed at a certain distance from a road to ensure passengers' safety. In Korea, there is no clear guidance as the Ministry of Environment first proposed a road setback distance of 400 m in the Onshore Wind Farm Siting Guidelines draft proposed in July 2012, and then modified it to 1.5 times the height of the wind turbine in October of the same year. This study analyzed the dynamic range of onshore wind resource potential according to how the road setback distance is set using the Korea Wind Atlas with 100m spatial resolution made by the Korea Institute of Energy Research, the transportation network of the Ministry of Construction and Transportation, and the forest road network of the Korea Forestry Service. Owing to the geographical characteristics of Korea, where mountainous terrain accounts for 70% of the total territory, the wind resource potential within 1 km from forest roads are estimated to be 14.3 GW, 14% of Korea's total wind resource potential. In addition, the construction distance of new road for transporting wind turbines from the existing road to a wind farm site is estimated as less than 2 km. Given the limited wind resource potential and geographical constraints, an assessment system that can maximize wind resource utilization and ensure road safety at the same time, and which takes into account the regional characteristics instead of applying the fixed road setback distance across-the-road, is required.

수직형 손잡이와 수평형 손잡이의 높이와 간격에 따른 미는 힘 비교 (Comparison of the Pushing Forces between Horizontal Handle and Vertical Handle According to the Handle Height and Distance)

  • Manual materials handling tasks are the main risk factors for the work-related musculoskeletal disorders. Many assistant tools for manual materials handling are being used in various kind of industries. One of them is a 4-wheeled cart which is widely used in manufacturing factories, hospitals, etc. The major force required to control the 4-wheeled cart is pushing and pulling. There are two types of handles being used for the 4-wheeled cart : vertical type (two vertical handles), and horizontal type (one horizontal handle). This study tried to investigate the pushing forces and subjective discomforts (hand/writst, shoulder, low back, and overall) of the two handle types with different handle height and distance conditions. Twelve healthy male students (mean age = 23.4 years) participated in the experiment. The independent variables were handle angle (horizontal, vertical), handle height (low, medium, high), and handle distance (narrow, medium, wide). The full factorial design was used for the experiment and the maximum pushing forces were measured in 18 different conditions ($2{\times}3{\times}3$). Analysis of variance (ANOVA) procedure was conducted to test the effects of the independent variables on the pushing force and discomfort levels. Handle height and angle were found to be the critical design factors that affect the maximal pushing forces and subjective discomfort. In the middle height, subjects exerted higher pushing forces, and experience lower discomfort levels compared to the high, and low height. There was no statistical influence of the handle distance to the pushing forces and subjective discomfort levels. It was found out that the effects of the handle angle (horizontal and vertical) on both pushing force and subjective discomfort were statistically significant (p < 0.05). The vertical handle revealed higher pushing force and lower discomfort level than the horizontal handle. The reason for that was thought to be the different postures of the hand when grasping the handles. The horizontal handle induced pronaton of the hand and made hand posture more deviated from the neutral position.
