AISC2005에 기준한 변단면 선설계 건축물시스템의 자동화 최적구조설계 (Self-Optimizing Structural Design of a Pre-engineered Building System with Nonprismatic Members based on AISC2005)

  • 철골 Pre-Engineered Building System(PEBS)이 국내에서도 80년도 후반부터 상당히 일반화되었지만 변단면 PEBS는 대부분 국외에서 개발된 최적화 프로그램으로 구조설계가 수행되고 있다. 이 연구에서는 3차원 변단면 PEBS의 구조설계를 AISC2005의 허용응력설계법과 KBC 기준에 따라 주어진 여러 제약조건들을 만족하도록 수치해석법으로 최적화하는 프로그램을 개발하였다. 변단면 구조물의 최적화 설계는 구조해석과 최적 부재설계를 수행하는데, 구조물의 최소 중량화를 위해서 구조해석과 부재설계 과정을 허용응력조건과 변위조건이 만족될 때까지 반복 수행한다. 2, 3차원 변단면 구조물을 최적화 설계한 결과에 의하면 변단면 용접 H-형강으로 설계하는 것이 압연 H-형강보다 상당한 철골 절약효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 변단면 용접 H-형강으로 설계하는 경우 구조물의 종류에 따라 차이는 있지만 AISC2005 기준으로 설계하는 것이 AISC1989 기준보다 철골량이 줄어들었고, 부재 춤도 작게 설계되어 웨브 좌굴에 새 기준이 더 안전한 것으로 평가되었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 강교의 실용적인 생애주기비용 (LCC) 최적설계를 위한 일반화된 정식화와 LCC 설계시스템 모델을 제안하였다. 강교 최적설계를 위한 LCC는 초기비용, 직접 복구 (rehabilitation) 비용과 인적 혹은 물적 손실비용의 직접비용, 도로이용자비용, 그리고 사회-경제 손실비용을 포함한 간접비용의 현재가치의 합으로 정식화하였다. 특히 본 논문에서는 교량이 속해 있는 도로의 네트워크를 고려한 도로이용자비용과 사회-경제 손실비용 산정을 위한 새로운 모델을 제안하였다. 본 연구에서 제안된 LCC 정식화 모델은 실제 강박스 거더교와 강상판형교의 LCC 최적설계 문제에 적용하였고, 다양한 경우에 대한 LCC의 효율성에 대해 비교 고찰하였다. LCC를 고려한 강교량의 최적설계는 설계시방서에 기초한 설계방법뿐만 아니라 초기비용 절감을 위한 최적설계 방법과 비교할 때 더욱 합리적이고, 경제적이며, 안전한 설계를 유도할 수 있으리라 판단된다.

Auto-Leveling of HID Headlamp Using Preview Control

  • A newly developed high intensity discharge (HID) automotive headlamp results in a high luminous gradient at the cutoff line, and proves the superior concept in safer and more com-fortable nighttime driving. This new headlamp technology Provides drivers expanded night vision by a significantly improved light pattern. However, the HID headlamp may dazzle other traffics during traversing a rough road or encountering an unexpected bump. To resolve this problem, an automatic headlamp leveling device is necessary. A preview control is presented for the design of the leveling system. The proposed control algorithm is capable of attenuating a dynamic glare which is one of the major detractors to a driving in dark roads. Computer simulations using ADAMS are carried out to confirm the effectiveness on the control system.

The Flash Points of the Butylacetate+2-Propanol System Measured By Air Blowing Tester

  • The lower and upper flash points of the flammable binary system, butylacetate+2-propanol were measured by air blowing tester. The shape of the concentration-temperature region of flash depended on the components of the mixture in solution. The experimental data were compared with the values calculated by the reduced model under an ideal solution assumption and the flash point-prediction models based on Van Laar equation. Good qualitative agreement was obtained with these models. The prediction results of these models can thus be applied to incorporate inherently safer design for chemical process, such as the determination of the safe storage conditions for flammable solutions.

Investigation of the effects on earthquake behavior and rough construction costs of the slab type in reinforced concrete buildings

  • In the architectural design process, the selection and configuration of the structural system significantly affect the earthquake behaviours of the reinforced concrete buildings. The main purpose of this study, the effects on the earthquake performances and the rough construction cost of the buildings of the slab type in reinforced concrete buildings are to examine comparatively for different local soil classes. The results obtained from this study have been determined that the building model having slabs with beams is safer compared to other types of slabs, especially when considering the vertical bearing structural elements (columns). It also shows that other types of slab, except for slab with beams, reduce the earthquake performances of reinforced concrete buildings, increase the displacement values, 1st natural vibration period values and the cost of rough construction. This matter reveals that slab type is quite important and the preference of beamed slabs in reinforced concrete buildings to be constructed in earthquake zones would be more appropriate in terms of safety and cost.

  • Currently, research on more convenient and safer cars for drivers and passengers, the intelligent cars, are being actively conducted. The researches involve designing systems that intelligently minimize physical damages caused by car accidents, not just pursuing passive safety measures like airbags or safety belts. However, there are many cases around the world where airbags cannot be activated in times of accidents and it is difficult for consumers to check if their airbags will be activated, especially for the old-style cars. Thus, in this paper, a base technology for an application that can determine whether the airbags will actually be actuated at a critical moment based on the mechanical calculations is being introduced.

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 게임 연구과정에서 상대적으로 소홀히 취급된 보안 측면의 요소를 강화하기 위하여 GPS 위치정보, IP 주소를 기반으로 1차적인 접근 제어를 수행하고 2차적인 접근제어로 ID/PWD 기반 인증 방식을 통한 사용자 인증 방식을 제안하고 제안된 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 시스템을 적용하여, 클라이언트의 물리적인 위치와 IP 주소 정보에 기반을 둔 사용자 인증을 통하여 악의적인 접속자의 공격을 사전에 예방함으로써 특히 무선 상에서 이루어지는 온라인 게임이나 노인, 유아등을 중심으로 발생하는 보안상의 위협 문제를 해결하는데 활용할 수 있다.

불규칙 피로하중을 받는 2인승용 자전거의 차대에 관한 내구성 연구 (Durability Study on Two-passenger Bicycle Frame under Non-uniform Fatigue Load)

  • This study investigates the durability of a two-passenger bicycle frame under non-uniform fatigue load. The bicycle frame of Model 1 installed with reinforcement support has a 20% lower maximum equivalent stress than the existing Model 2. Model 1 has a maximum total deformation that is less than half that of Model 2. Model 1 has a higher maximum fatigue life than Model 2. In addition, Model 1 has lower fatigue damage than Model 2. Thus, the bicycle frame of Model 1 installed with reinforcement support can be described as safer, as it offers more strength than Model 2. Applying this result to the design of a real two-passenger bicycle frame under non-uniform fatigue load can effectively prevent fatigue damage and improve durability.

헤어드라이기의 팬 형상에 따른 열변형에 관한 연구 (A Study on Thermal Deformation due to Fan Shape of Hair Dryer)

  • This study investigates thermal deformation due to fan shape of a hair dryer. In this study, thermal analysis showed that the shape of an electric fan results in lower temperature than that of a sieve frame. Among the shapes of electric fans, the temperature change decreases as the number of wings decreases. As a result of thermal deformation, model 4 (sieve frame shape) showed increased change of deformation compared to models 1, 2, and 3 (with electric fan shapes). Thus, the model 1 dryer with the sieve frame shape is shown to have the least durability among models 1, 2, 3, and 4. It is thought that the analysis results of this study can be applied to durability improvement and safer design of hair dryers.

자동차의 프런트 범퍼 가드에 관한 내구성 연구 (A Durability Investigation on Automotive Front Bumper Guard)

  • In this study, three models on the installation of automotive additional front bumper guard were designed and the structural analysis was carried out. The additional front bumper models B and C appears to be safer on stability instead of the basic front bumper model A. Model A with a simple structure is shown to have the safe region overall except in the area where the load is applied directly. Models B and C are shown to have the shortest lives at the regions where the bumpers are connected with each other. By comparing with the least fatigue lives at models A, B and C, Model B has the longest life with the best durability.
