야외지질학습장으로써 서낭바위 일대의 지질학적 가치 (Geological Values of Seonangbawi Area as A Geological Field Course Site)

  • 다양한 지질명소가 국내에 분포하고 있음에도 불구하고, 지질명소를 야외학습장으로 활용하지 못하고 있다. 이 연구의 목적은 상세한 지질조사를 통해 서낭바위 일대를 야외학습장으로 활용 가능하게 하는데 있다. 서낭바위는 강원도 죽왕면 송지호해수욕장 부근에 위치하며, 송지호에서 남동쪽으로 약 1km 떨어져 있다. 서낭바위 일대는 중생대 백악기 속초화강암과 이를 부정합으로 충적층이 덮고 있는 단순한 암석분포를 보인다. 서낭바위 일대는 초중등학생과 일반인들에게 화강암 암상, 구성광물, 풍화과정뿐만 아니라, 절리(N50E/80SW, N40W/84NW), 단층(N42W/83SW), 엽리(N32E/54SE), 암맥(N35E/40SE, N26W/63SW)과 같은 지질구조와, 토르, 타포니, 그루부, 나마와 같은 지형들을 학습할 수 있는 장소이다. 그러므로 서낭바위 일대는 작은 규모의 공간에서 여러 지질 및 지형학적 현상들을 학습하고 서낭바위의 성인을 토론할 수 있는 최적의 야외학습장이다.

남극 테라노바 만 편마암의 동결-융해에 따른 지반공학적 특성 변화 (Variations of Geotechnical Characteristics Following Freeze-Thaw of Terra Nova Bay Rocks, Antarctica)

  • 남극 암석의 동결-융해 풍화현상에 관한 연구를 위하여 테라노바 만 지역의 편마암을 대상으로 풍화등급에 따라 약한풍화(SW) 및 보통풍화(MW)로 분류하여 암석의 공학적인 특성 변화를 실험하였다. 동결-융해시험은 $-20{\pm}2^{\circ}C{\sim}20{\pm}2^{\circ}C$의 온도 조건에서 수행되었으며, 암석 시험편은 진공챔버에서 포화된 상태에서 5시간 동결과 5시간 융해 과정을 1 cycle의 동결-융해로 설정하였다. 본 논문에서는 전체 200 cycle의 동결-융해 과정을 진행하면서 20 cycle 마다 공극률, 흡수율, 초음파 속도 및 쇼어경도를 측정하였으며, 50 cycle 마다 일축압축시험을 수행하였다. SW 등급의 편마암은 동결-융해 1 cycle 마다 0.07 MPa 정도 일축압축강도가 감소하였으며, MW 등급의 암석은 0.2 MPa 정도 일축압축 강도가 감소하였다. 동결-융해가 200 cycle 진행되는 동안 SW 등급 암석의 흡수율은 0.23%에서 0.39%로 증가하였으며, P파 속도는 4,054 m/s에서 3,227 m/s로, S파 속도는 2,519 m/s에서 2,079 m/s로 감소하였다. 이와 유사하게 MW 등급 암석의 흡수율은 0.65%에서 1.6%로 증가하였으며, P파 속도는 3,207 m/s에서 2,133 m/s로, S파 속도는 2,028 m/s에서 1,357 m/s로 감소하였다. 동결-융해시험 결과, 남극 테라노바 만 지역의 SW 등급 편마암은 동결-융해가 200~300 cycle 반복될 경우 MW 등급 암석에 가깝게 풍화되는 것으로 밝혀졌다.

Agromyces silvae sp. nov., Rathayibacter soli sp. nov., and Nocardioides terrisoli sp. nov., Isolated from Soil

  • Three Gram-stain-positive, aerobic, rod-shaped, and non-motile bacteria, labelled as W11T, SW19T, and YR1T, were isolated from soil, and performed their polyphasic taxonomic investigation. The phylogenetic and 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis showed that strains W11T, SW19T, and YR1T belonged to the genera Agromyces, Rathayibacter, and Nocardioides, respectively. Strain W11T was closely affiliated with Agromyces cavernae SYSU K20354T (98.1%), strain SW19T showed the closest affiliation with Rathayibacter rubneri ZW T2_19T (97.0%), and strain YR1T was most closely related to Nocardioides marmorisolisilvae KIS18-7T (98.0%). The genome sizes of strains W11T, SW19T, and YR1T were 4,181,720 bp, 4,740,677 bp, and 4,228,226 bp, respectively, with DNA G+C contents of 70.5%, 64.2%, and 69.7%, respectively. Average nucleotide identity and digital DNA-DNA hybridization values of W11T, SW19T, and YR1T with their respective reference species were <79.6% and <23.6%, respectively. The predominant cellular fatty acids detected in strain W11T were anteiso-C15:0, iso-C16:0, and anteiso-C17:0. In strain SW19T, they were summed feature 9 (C16:0 10-methyl and/or iso-C17:1ω 9c), anteiso-C17:0, and anteiso-C15:0. Strain YR1T exhibited C18:1ω 9c, C18:0 10-methyl, TBSA, and anteiso-C15:0 as its major cellular fatty acids. Overall, the polyphasic taxonomic comparisons indicated that strains W11T, SW19T, and YR1T represent novel species within the genera Agromyces, Rathayibacter, and Nocardioides, respectively. Accordingly, we propose the names Agromyces silvae sp. nov., with the type strain W11T (=KCTC 49818T =NBRC 115999T), Rathayibacter soli sp. nov., with the type strain SW19T (=KCTC 49860T =NBRC 116108T), and Nocardioides terrisoli sp. nov., with the type strain YR1T (=KCTC 49863T =NBRC 116165T).

Paleostress of the Joseon and Pyeongan Supergroups in South Korea using the New Calcite Strain Gauge (NCSG)

  • Limestone bodies under the tectonic environment have experienced various tectonic processes, and also changed the stress state. In this study, calcite twins found in limestones of the Joseon Supergroup and Pyeongan Supergroup in the northeastern part of the Ogcheon Belt, South Korea were measured, then the paleostress (i.e., the maximum shortening axis) was reconstructed using the new calcite strain gauge (NCSG) technique. The average twin thickness and average twin intensity increase as the total twin strain increases. We utilize the appearance of twins, the average twin thickness and average twin intensity, and the total twin strain to estimate that the observed calcite twins were produced at temperatures of < $200^{\circ}C$ in the Joseon Supergroup and $170^{\circ}C$ in the Pyeongan Supergroup. In the Joseon Supergroup, the dominant direction of the maximum shortening axis WNW-ESE to NW-SE; NE-SW shortening is also observed. The maximum shortening axes in the Pyeongan Supergroup are oriented NW-SE and NE-SW. The NE-SW direction of maximum shortening is associated with the occurrence of the Songrim orogeny of the Paleozoic to Early Jurassic, and the NW-SE direction of maximum shortening correlates to the Daebo orogeny of the Early Jurassic to Late Jurassic. It is thus concluded that the paleostress across the study area changed from NE-SW to NW-SE during the Mesozoic.

Device Coupling Effects of Monolithic 3D Inverters

  • The device coupling between the stacked top/bottom field-effect transistors (FETs) in two types of monolithic 3D inverter (M3INV) with/without a metal layer in the bottom tier is investigated, and then the regime of the thickness TILD and dielectric constant εr of the inter-layer distance (ILD), the doping concentration Nd (Na), and length Lg of the channel, and the side-wall length LSW where the stacked FETs are coupled are studied. When Nd (Na) < 1016 cm-3 and LSW < 20 nm, the threshold voltage shift of the top FET varies almost constantly by the gate voltage of the bottom FET, but when Nd (Na) > 1016 cm-3 or LSW > 20 nm, the shift decreases and increases, respectively. M3INVs with TILD ≥ 50 nm and εr ≤ 3.9 can neglect the interaction between the stacked FETs, but when TILD or εr do not meet the above conditions, the interaction must be taken into consideration.

소셜협업도구를 활용한 소프트웨어 개발 프로젝트가 여대생의 대인관계변화에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of SW Development Project with Social Collaboration tool on Inter-relationship Change of Women's University Students)

  • This paper deals with inter-relationship change of women's university students on the process of SW development project using social collaboration tool. Inter-relationship is one of the basic vocational competency in NCS(National Competency Standards) of Korea. We redesigned the curriculum of "Software Engineering" subject for this study and composed the project teams of students to develop software. The details of inter-relationship are satisfaction, communication, faith, friendliness, sensitivity, openness and consideration. From the result of this study, faith, openness and consideration have positive effect but satisfaction, communication, friendliness and sensitivity have no meaningful effect. The surveys were conducted in the beginning of semester and the same surveys were conducted again in the end of semester. The results were verified by paired t-test with SPSS 18.0. It is significant that the using of social collaboration tool for team project has positive effect on inter-relationship change, especially faith of women's university students. This study has some limitations for generalization but has meaning as new trial to enlarge the basic vocational competency of students in major subject, "Software Engineering". We expect new study for inter-relationship change of students to evaluate generality based on the proposed method in this paper.

Static Dalvik Bytecode Optimization for Android Applications

  • Since just-in-time (JIT) has considerable overhead to detect hot spots and compile them at runtime, using sophisticated optimization techniques for embedded devices means that any resulting performance improvements will be limited. In this paper, we introduce a novel static Dalvik bytecode optimization framework, as a complementary compilation of the Dalvik virtual machine, to improve the performance of Android applications. Our system generates optimized Dalvik bytecodes by using Low Level Virtual Machine (LLVM). A major obstacle in using LLVM for optimizing Dalvik bytecodes is determining how to handle the high-level language features of the Dalvik bytecode in LLVM IR and how to optimize LLVM IR conforming to the language information of the Dalvik bytecode. To this end, we annotate the high-level language features of Dalvik bytecode to LLVM IR and successfully optimize Dalvik bytecodes through instruction selection processes. Our experimental results show that our system with JIT improves the performance of Android applications by up to 6.08 times, and surpasses JIT by up to 4.34 times.

LAN 기반 디지털 변전소 보호를 위한 동기 샘플링 구조적용 HW/SW 플랫폼 기술 (Synchronized Sampling Structure applied HW/SW platform for LAN-based Digital Substation Protection)

  • 본 논문에서는 미래 LAN 기반 디지털 변전소 보호를 위하여 정밀 시각동기 기반 동기 샘플링 구조를 적용한 계통 구성 IED(Intelligent Electronic Device)의 HW/SW 플랫폼을 제안하였다. 제안한 플랫폼은 전력계통 자동화를 위한 표준인 IEC 61850 프로토콜 및 IED 간 정밀 시각동기를 위한 IEEE 1588 Precision time protocol 통합 소프트웨어가 적용되었으며, Synchronized reference signal을 이용한 IED 간 동기 샘플링 구조를 적용하였다. 이는 미래 IEC 61850 기반 디지털 변전소에 적용될 네트워크 기반 데이터 송수신 환경에서 IED 간 동기 측정된 계전 데이터를 제공하게 함으로써, 네트워크 기반 분산 측정 데이터를 이용한 새로운 보호 및 제어방식을 적용할 수 있는 토대를 제공할 것으로 기대된다. 제시한 플랫폼 기술의 타당성 및 성능을 측정하기 위하여 TMDXIDK572 멀티코어/멀티프로세서 EVM(Evaluation Module)을 기반으로 구현하였으며, 성능 시험 환경을 구성하여 제시한 플랫폼의 시각동기 성능 및 동기 샘플링 기능의 동작을 확인하였다.
