Synthesis and characterization of negative-type photosensitive polyimides for TFT-LCD array

  • Two different negative-type photosensitive polyimides were synthesized and characterized for an application as an interdielectric layer in TFTLCD array. In the case of photocurable polyimides, the photosensitive moiety, 2-HHSP, was synthesized through 3 step reaction, and then was incorporated into side chains of polyimide precursor by post reaction. Optimum compositions of negative-type photocurable polyimde were also formulated. For photopolymerizable polyimides, two novel UV monomers containing imide linkages were prepared. An aqueous alkaline developable polymer matrix was synthesized by free radical copolymerization. A negative photoresist formulation was developed utilizing synthesized UV monomers containing imide linkage, photoinitiator, UV oligomer, and alkali developable polymer matrix. It was found that viaholes with good resolution, high transmittance and thermal resistance could be obtained by photolithographic process utilizing the negative-type photoresist formulations.

Surface treatment of polyethylene terephthalate films by corona discharge (코로나방전에 의한 polyethylene terephthalate 필름의 표면처리)

  • A vital step in magnetic tape manufacturing is the surface modification of polymer substrate prior to ink application. A critical element for good adhesion of magnetic ink on polymeric substrate is the ability to join ink in cost-effective manner. Corona discharging is one of the effective methods of modifying polymer surface to improve adhesion while maintaining the desirable properties of the film itself. Surface treatment by corona which is exposure of film surface to electron or ion bombardment, rather than mere exposure to active species, like atomic oxygen or ozone, can enhance adhesion by removing contaminant, electret, roughening surface, and/or introducing reactive chemical groups. Reactive neutrals, ions, electron and photons generated during the corona treatment interact simultaneously with polymers to alter surface chemical composition, wettability, and thus film adhesion. However, it is highly recommended that extensive chains scission be avoided because it can lead to side-effect by forming sticky matter, resulting in dropouts. This paper reviews principles of surface preparation of polymer substrate by corona discharging. In addition, the experimental section provides a description of parameter optimization on corona discharging treatment and its side-effect. Experimental results are discussed in terms of surface wetting as determined by contact angle measurements.

  • This system is composed of fine and coarse apparatus, measurement system and control system. Piezoelectric actuator is designed far fee positioning. We make a study of precision apparatus that is used in the various industrial machine. The study was carried out to develope a precision positioning apparatus, consisting of servo motor and piezoelectric actuator Coarse positioning using lead screw is thrived by servo motor. Control system output a signal from laser interferometer to amplifier of servo motor and piezoelectric actuator after digital signal processing (DSP). Resolution of this apparatus measure with laser interferometer. In this study, design method and control system with ultra precision position apparatus are researched. As the first step, we have estimated for control performance and system stability before an actual apparatus is manufactured by MATLAB with SIMUUNK including various frictions those are composed of pre-design and system modeling.

  • A dedicated reverse engineering(RE) system for rapid manufacturing of human head in a 3D bust has been developed. The first step in the process is to capture the surface details of a human head and shoulder by three scanners based upon the digital moire fringe technique. Then the multiple scans captured from different angles are aligned and merged into a single polygonal mesh, and the aligned data set is refined by smoothing, subdividing or hole filling process. Finally, the refined data set is sent to a 4-axis computer numerically control(NC) machine to manufacture a replica. In this paper, we mainly describe on the algorithms and software for aligning multiple data sets. The method is based on the recently popular Iterative Closest Point(ICP) algorithm that aligns different polygonal meshes into one common coordinate system. The ICP algorithm finds the nearest positions on one scan to a collection of points on the other scan by minimizing the collective distance between different scans. We also integrate some heuristics into the ICP to enhance the aligning process. A typical example is presented to validate the system and further research work is also discussed.

  • High-speed/precision servomechanisms have been widely used in the manufacturing and semiconductor industries. In order to ensure the required high-speed and high-precision specifications in servomechanisms, an integrated design methodology is required, where the interactions between mechanical and electrical subsystems will have to be considered simultaneously. For the first step of the integrated design process, it is necessary to obtain not only strict mathematical models of separate subsystems but also formulation of an integrated design problem. A two-degree-of-freedom controller described in the discrete-time domain is considered as an electrical subsystem in this paper. An accurate identification process of the mechanical subsystem is conducted to verify the obtained mathematical model. Mechanical and electrical constraints render the integrated design problem accurate. Analysis of the system performance according to design and operating parameters is conducted for better understanding of the dynamic behavior and interactions of the servomechanism. Experiments are performed to verify the validity of the integrated design problem in the x-Y positioning system.

  • Hydroforming is a forming technology in which a steel tube is set in a die and formed to fit a specified shape by applying hydraulic pressure from inside the tube while also applying force in the tube axial direction (axial feed). In present study, the entire design process chain for an automotive cross-member was simulated and developed using hydroforming technology on high-strength steel. The part design stage required a feasibility study. The process was designed using computer-aided design techniques to confirm the actual hydroformability of the part in detail. The possibility of using hydroformable cross-member parts was examined using cross-sectional analyses, which were essential to ensure the formability of the tube material for each forming step, including pre-bending and hydroforming. The die design stage included all the components of a prototyping tool. Press interference was investigated in terms of geometry and thinning.

Non-chemical Risk Assessment for Lifting and Low Back Pain Based on Bayesian Threshold Models

  • Background: Self-reported low back pain (LBP) has been evaluated in relation to material handling lifting tasks, but little research has focused on relating quantifiable stressors to LBP at the individual level. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Composite Lifting Index (CLI) has been used to quantify stressors for lifting tasks. A chemical exposure can be readily used as an exposure metric or stressor for chemical risk assessment (RA). Defining and quantifying lifting nonchemical stressors and related adverse responses is more difficult. Stressor-response models appropriate for CLI and LBP associations do not easily fit in common chemical RA modeling techniques (e.g., Benchmark Dose methods), so different approaches were tried. Methods: This work used prospective data from 138 manufacturing workers to consider the linkage of the occupational stressor of material lifting to LBP. The final model used a Bayesian random threshold approach to estimate the probability of an increase in LBP as a threshold step function. Results: Using maximal and mean CLI values, a significant increase in the probability of LBP for values above 1.5 was found. Conclusion: A risk of LBP associated with CLI values > 1.5 existed in this worker population. The relevance for other populations requires further study.

A study on the structural analysis of CNC multiple router system (CNC 복합 라우터 시스템의 구조해석에 관한 연구)

  • Although demand for non-metalic materials, acrylic and metal plate material is increased. The complex processing equipment that can machine it at the same time is extremely limited. In case of existing manual multiple routers, it is no substantial demand due to the difficulty in use and low efficiency. In this study, the CNC multiple router was designed. The structural analysis was carried out according to the structure of the bed as a basic step for the development of multiple CNC router system that can guarantee the increase in yield while optimizing the manufacturing process. CNC router added a dummy was carried out about weight analysis and load analysis. Development of a CNC router system will be progressed on the basis of the analysis result.

  • The aero-industry is union industry which includes a research development type, a knowledge accumulation type and a developed country type. The aero-industry of Korea is in semi-developed type stage but departed later than that of other country such as Taiwan, Indonesia etc. Therefore, the necessity of domestic airplane material is required. This study on 7050Al extruded alloy aims to suggest an adequate heat treatment conditions of T73, T74 and T76. The results of this study show that; 1. The optimum conditions of T7x heat treatment in extruded 7050Al alloy show this; $$T73:121^{\circ}C{\times}7hr+177^{\circ}C{\times}14hr$$. $$T74:121^{\circ}C{\times}7hr+177^{\circ}C{\times}10hr$$. $$T76:121^{\circ}C{\times}7hr+163^{\circ}C{\times}21hr$$. 2. The 2nd step aging heat treatment such as T73, T74 and T76 etc. is efective in 7050Al alloy but the variation otf microstructure and mechanical property with dispersive inclusions produced for extrusion process causes some troubles. Accordingly, in order to produce a good 7050Al alloy, a careful attention is needed in manufacturing process.

Corrective Machining Algorithm for Improving the Motion Accuracy of Hydrostatic Bearing Tables

  • For improving the motion accuracy of hydrostatic tables, a corrective machining algorithm is proposed in this paper. The algorithm consists of three main processes. The reverse analysis is performed firstly to estimate the rail profile from the measured linear and angular motion error, in the algorithm. For the next step, the corrective machining information is obtained based upon the estimated rail pronto. Finally, the motion errors on the correctively machined rail are analyzed by using the motion error analysis method. These processes are iterated until the analyzed motion errors are satisfactory within the target accuracy. In order to verify the validity of the algorithm theoretically, the motion errors calculated by the estimated rail after the corrective machining process, are compared with those by the true rail which is previously assumed as the initially measured value. The motion errors calculated using the estimated rail show good agreement with the assumed values, and it is shown that the algorithm is effective in acquiring the corrective machining information to improve the accuracy of hydrostatic tables.
