  • In this paper, the spatial modulation (SM) multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system is proposed for indoor wireless local area networks (WLANs) with improved spectral efficiency. SM is suitable for high speed WLANs with avoiding the inter channel interference (ICI). Only one transmit antenna is activated in SM at each symbol interval. Therefore, it fails to attain the maximum coding gain of MIMO. The space time block code (STBC)-SM MIMO system can attain the maximum diversity gain at the expense of spectral efficiency. The proposed Golden-SM MIMO system uses the Golden code to improve the coding gain and spectral efficiency at the same time. The Golden code is adapted for STBC-SM and it makes the new code book for transmission symbols. The performance of the proposed system is compared with the conventional systems with computer simulations.

  • In this paper, we propose a new CL-OSTBC (Closed Loop Orthogonal Space-Time Block Code) scheme for four transmit antennas and compare the scheme with existing closed loop schemes on the performance of BER (Bit Error Rate). In the proposed scheme, a transmitter receives channel feedback information and combines modulated symbols by the symbol combiner, and transmits the symbols encoded by the space-time block encoder. As a result, the proposed scheme achieves full-rate and maximal channel gains by more efficient utilization of the channel feedback information. Moreover, the scheme can reduce computation complexity by using a linear detector. Simulation results on the BER performance show that the proposed CL-OSTBC scheme outperforms existing CL-OSTBC schemes.

  • Research about the mode of MIMO that can get a coding benefit at the same time with a diversity benefit using a multiple antenna at the fading channel for a high-speed data transmission have been processed actively But the analysis about the interference of UWB system comes not to consist yet. So this paper analyzed the performance of the interference of UWB system to SFBC-OFDM and SFTC-OFDM system that applied a space block code which has a space diversity characteristic to OFDM system at MIMO channel. We shelved the performance that SFTC-OFDM system is robuster than SFBC-OFDM system under MB-OFDM UWB Interference.

  • In this paper we propose a system where we divide the group with 2 symbols. The two added symbols are separated by multiplexing and later added using the DE-multiplexing technique. In our proposed system a simple Partial Interference Cancelation (PIC) group decoding scheme is used for Double-ABBA(D-ABBA) Quasi-Orthogonal Space Time Code, which reduces the decoding complexity for the higher order Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) space time block coding. Finally we compare the proposed scheme performance using the different modulation schemes.

  • In this paper, we design multiple antenna relay transmission schemes of low complexity to enhance the spatial diversity in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. The relay scheme underlined, can provide space time block coding (STBC) of OFDM signals in the time domain without IFFT and FFT operations with much reduced complexity. In this paper, we modify the conventional low-complexity STBC-OFDM relaying scheme to be compatible to the existing OFDM systems. In addition, we extend the proposed scheme for multiple antenna relays and provide performance enhancement strategies according to the channel quality information available at the relay. The proposed scheme is shown to improve the diversity and thereby to reduce the outage probability and coded bit error rate. Therefore, the proposed scheme will be promising for service quality improvement or coverage extension based on OFDM like wireless LANs and maritime communications.

  • In this paper, we propose a relay-based DF cooperative communication scheme using repetitive transmission algorithm for wireless LAN environments on D-STBC. Additional transmission diversity gain can be obtained by repetitive transmission algorithm. However, in comparison with conventional schemes, data rate is decreased in half. We consider data modulation constellation twice higher than conventional schemes. Further, system complexity is decreased and performance degradation is minimized because repetitive transmission algorithm is adapted between source and relay node. We show the uncoded BER performance of the proposed algorithm over HiperLAN/2 Rayleigh fading channel.

  • In this paper, we evaluate the performance of a moving average (MA) channel estimation filter when space-time block coding transmit diversity (STBC-TD) is applied to the wideband direct sequence code division multiple access (WCDMA) forward link. And we present the infinite impulse response (IIR) filter scheme that can reduce the required memory buffer and the channel estimation delay time. This paper also compares the performance between MA filter scheme and IIR filter scheme in various Rayleigh fading channel environments through the bit error rate (BER) and the frame error rate (FER). Extensive computer simulation results show that transmission with STBC-TD provides a significant gain in performance over no transmit diversity technique, particularly at pedestrian speeds. If STBC-TD technique is employed in the channel estimator based on MA filter, it provides considerable performance gains against Rayleigh fading and reduces the optimum filter tap number. Consequently, the channel estimation delay time and the complexity of the receiver are reduced. In addition, the channel estimator based on IIR filter has the advantages such as little memory requirement and no delay time compared to the MA scheme. However, IIR filter coefficients is very sensitive to the mobile speed change and it exerts a serious influence upon the performance. For that reason, it is important to set uP the optimum IIR filter coefficients.

  • According to information theory, non-orthogonal transmission can achieve the multiple-user channel capacity with an onion-peeling like successive interference cancellation (SIC) based detection followed by a capacity approaching channel code. However, in multiple antenna system, due to the unideal characteristic of the SIC detector, the residual interference propagated to the next detection stage will significantly degrade the detection performance of spatial data layers. To overcome this problem, we proposed a modified power-domain non-orthogonal multiple access (P-NOMA) scheme joint designed with space-time coding for multiple input multiple output (MIMO) NOMA system. First, with proper power allocation for each user, inter-user signals can be separated from each other for NOMA detection. Second, a well-designed quasi-orthogonal space-time block code (QO-STBC) was employed to facilitate the SIC-based MIMO detection of spatial data layers within each user. Last, we proposed an optimization algorithm to assign channel coding rates to balance the bit error rate (BER) performance of those spatial data layers for each user. Link-level performance simulation results demonstrate that the proposed time-space-power domain joint transmission scheme performs better than the traditional P-NOMA scheme. Furthermore, the proposed algorithm is of low complexity and easy to implement.

  • Tn this paper, we evaluate the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) performance in a space-time block code (STBC) multi-input multi-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) system using selected mapping (SLM) and partial transmit sequences (PTS) approaches. SLM and PTS methods are used to decrease the nonlinear distortion and to improve the power efficiency of the nonlinear high power amplifier(HPA) in the MIMO-OFDM system. In simulation result, when compared with the existing MIMO-OFDM system using QPSK, the PTS method reduces the PAPR about 5dB while the SLM method can reduce about 3.5 dB. Also, we find the BER performance of the MIMO-OFDM system with and without the predistorter in front of the HPA. When the predistorter is used, the input back-off (IBO) of 4 dB is required in the PTS method, and IBO of 6 dB in the SLM method to closely conform to the linear amplifier. If the method of improving the PAPR is not used, the value of IBO of 8 dB is required.

  • In this paper, an improved detection method is proposed by supplementing various types of Multi-Path gam for a MMSE Multi-User detecter. This method is proposed to complement the shortcomings of the conventional detection method which is used for multiuser detection in STBC(Space-Time Block Code) CDMA system. We analyzed the improved method in bit error probability viewpoint and compared the result with that of the conventional method. In this result, we showed that the improved method obtains better performance of bit error probability than the conventional method when parameters such as delay, number of user and SNR are changed.
