STAR-CCM+를 이용한 썬루프 버페팅 유동 소음 해석 (Numerical Analysis of Sunroof Buffeting using STAR-CCM+)

  • 썬루프 버페팅 소음의 고유특성을 의미하는 속도에 따른 소음강도의 증-감쇠 현상을 살펴보고자, HSM(Hyundai simplified model) 형상에 대해서 유동소음 해석 프로그램인 STAR-CCM+을 통하여 전체 차속 범위에 걸쳐 시험과 비교 검토하였다. 차량 내부의 재질에 따른 압축성 효과 및 감쇠효과는 인공 압축성과 감쇠 보정 기법인 FRET(frequency response test)를 이용하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과는 특정 속도에서 나타나는 소음 강도의 증-감쇠 시험결과를 매우 잘 예측하였으며 최대 SPL 수치도 정확히 예측하였다. 이는 썬루프 개방에 의해 발생하는 전단면에서의 유동 박리 주파수를 유동 소음 해석인 STAR-CCM+가 전 차속에 걸쳐서 매우 잘 예측하고 있음을 나타낸다.

  • This study aims to propose a new model axial flow fan which attachs centrifugal blades, and to investigate the effect of centrifugal blades on the performance improvement of new model axial flow fan. A numerical simulation has been conducted using STAR-CD commercial code to solve the three dimensional incompressible Navier-Stokes equation for high Reynolds number $k-{\epsilon}$ turbulent model. Numerical simulation is carried out to investigate the detail phenomenon in the flow field and performance characteristics of new model and normal model fan. Calculation results are compared with normal model's results to investigate which centrifugal blades effect on velocity profile and pressure distribution at various flow field positions. and calculation results show that new model fan can improve the performance of total pressure.

  • The transient flow fields in direct injection engine was analyzed by using the STAR-CD CFD code during the intake/compression processes. The grids are generated by using the IC3M. The CFD results were compared with experimental data. The results showed that the used techniques were well suited for the flow analyses on any internal combustion engines.

The analyses were focused on the computation grid generation by using the IC3M code which is a pre-developed and especially well adapted for the analyses of internal combustion engine. The results showed that the used grid generation technique was well suited for the flow analyses on any internal combustion engine.

횡류팬의 최적설계방안 (Optimum Design of a Cross Flow Fan)

  • Cross-flow fans are widely used in various applications, due to their large capacity of mass flow and size compactness. The flow field of the cross-flow fan is, however, complex and has many design parameters. Thus, the general design guide has not been sufficiently established yet and the design strategies of cross-flow fans have been mostly based on experiments. In the present study, the performance and their two-dimensional flow characteristics are numerically analyzed by using the STAR-CD(commercial computational fluid dynamics code). The simulation is done by varying the several design parameters such as the impeller blade shapes and the gap between the stabilizer and impeller. The computational results are compared with the experimental data at the fan outlet region. Finally, some helpful guides for the optimum design of cross-flow fans are proposed.

상용코드를 이용한 원심펌프 임펠러 유동평가 (Flow Evaluations of Centrifugal Pump Impeller Using Commercial Code)

  • Numerical calculation is applied to centrifugal pump at design condition by using commercial code STAR-CD and Tascflow, and these results are compared with experimental data at impeller outlet. Numerical analysis is also performed by changing turbulence model and discretization scheme at design condition using Tascflow. Turbulence model and discretization scheme used to Tascflow are k-$\epsilon$, k-$\omega$ turbulence model and upwind, modified linear profile scheme. W;th the same turbulence model and discretization scheme, two results of STAR-CD and Tascflow are very similar. But there is significant difference in numerical results near hub and shroud of impeller with different kinds of turbulent model and discretization scheme at design condition. And with k- $\omega$ turbulence model and modified linear profile scheme, it is showed that numerical results are very similar to experimental results of impeller outlet
